I bought ten colored glass wine bottles for a light fixture. Emigh had placed the sales price stickers on the sides of the bottles. When you removed the sticker, it pulled paint off the bottle, leaving a defect. I tried soaking the bottles overnight in water, but that only dissolved the paper of the sticker, it not not remove the adhesive. I tried Goof Off, Goo Gone, adhesive remover, acetone and alcohol: all removed the paint in trying to get the sticker off. I ruined six of the ten bottles trying to get the stickers off. I took the ruined bottles back to Emigh and they refused to give me a refund. They experimented with six different solvents and found one that would remove the sticker without damaging the paint and had me buy a bottle of it. When I said that does not correct the ruined bottles I was told they would get new bottles in within 2-3 weeks and I could come back then. Another employee said they sell stained glass spray paint and I could re-paint the damaged bottles. I bought the paint. In trying to paint the bottles, no matter how lightly I sprayed, the paint would run or appear blotchy. I was assured that the new bottles that came into the store would have the price stickers placed on the bottom of the bottle, not the sides. When I returned to Emigh to buy new bottles, as I could not repair the six damaged ones, the bottles had the price sticker on the bottle side. I therefore did not buy them. Even after my complaint, there is no warning to the consumer that you must use a certain solvent to remove the sticker. I must now try to find another source for the bottles, so far no luck after thorough internet search. I am not only out the price of six bottles, one bottle of solvent and four cans of spray paint, but also gas as I live more than 90 miles from Emigh. Over many years I have purchased thousands of dollars of goods from Emigh. Because of their refusal to refund me $41.94 for six bottles, they have lost my business.
