I was sold a vehicle that within two weeks, had issues with brakes, rotors, calipers tire tread, which all fall under the umbrella of California safe D and health laws that state that any dealershipwith a license to sell vehicle must have a certain amount of tire tread depth, as well as working brakes. I made several attempts to let bucket buddy make it right however they have not. They have ripped me off even more since then. Im pretty sure they are running a chop shop and washing pink slips of cars that have previously been flooded and considered a total loss withdamage that poses safety hazard to the people in the vehicle and everyone else on the road. They also presented a fake inspection to me that they later on admitted was not their inspection. It was supposedly from an auction that they purchasedthe vehicle from. They also were fully aware of damages to the vehicle that they were directly asked about, and I was misled. The way I know that the pink slips are being washed is because mine appears to be clean however, I found it as a total loss in another state when I ran a more in depth vhr.Initial Complaint

The dealership did not disclose there were open recalls. They actually stated there were no recalls on the disclosure which we both signed. I later found out there were two open recalls that have not been fixed. 4 months after purchasing my catalytic converters are bad, my exhaust pipe fell off, the ecm module in the passenger door is bad, there is a short in the stereo, all fluids and spark plugs were way past needing to be changed out. I absolutely got a lemon here and was taken advantage of. And the "bumper to bumper" warranty covers none of the items listed.Initial Complaint

I was looking to buy a used car and saw an advertisement by Bucket Buddys LLC for a 2014 **** 500L Trekking Hatchback. The advertisement claimed that everything was great and in good driving condition. I purchased it for $4700 not including taxes. 4 days after purchasing the vehicle the check engine light came on and when I brought it into the mechanic he said that there was oil all over the engine indicating a massive leak that has corroded the spark plugs and engine valves. After attempting to replace them, the car then starting spewing white smoke from the exhaust and the second piston was displaying a psi of 0. This means the engine will have to be replaced entirely. Bucket Buddy knowingly sold me a car they listed as good and clean that drives well and has now left me with a car that cannot drive anywhere just days later. I reached out to them and they acted surprised at first but have now refused to respond to my calls or messages. They are deliberately lying about the condition of their vehicles to make money and have now put my family in a bad financial position.Initial Complaint

1/14/2023 I purchased a 2013 Audi A5 for $7000 cash. I was informed that everything works great on a car The car runs strong and there's no issue with the vehicle. I purchased the car about an hour after I left the dealership I called to let them know that the heater isn't working he told me I can come back and he'll fix it. I wasn't able to make it because we stayed an hour and a half away and it was raining pretty hard that day. So that following Wednesday January 19,2023 I took it to a mechanic for them to do a full diagnostic on it and come to find out that the car actually needs a heater core which will cause over $2,500 to get fixed. When I called the dealer to let them know what was going on he said that's not the problem it's probably the auxiliary pump is causing the car not to produce heat so I informed him that you inform me that everything runs on the vehicle and you were previously driving the car as your daily car why didn't you inform me of this before I gave you $7,000 cash. He was upset saying I shouldn't have took it to another license mechanic I showed him proof along with receipt. I informed him that my wife is anemic so there's no way I would purchase a vehicle that doesn't have a running heater. I just want him to be able to fix this problem with the car. He knew that the heater didn't work in the vehicle and still sold the car and he disclose this information from me.Business Response

Hey. My name is ******. I'm an owner of BucketBuddy Auto LLC. I want to give a response to the complaint that one of the customers created regarding their experience with our dealership. Customer bought a car from us that was previously tested, inspected and passed all the inspections according to the law to be sold by a licensed dealership. I personally take every car we offer for sale for at least 1-day test drive to test for any possible issues. Even though the car had a 16x.*** miles on it, it was running strong, passed smog and everything was working fine. Before the sale I gave a car for a "no-rush" test drive to a customer that allows them to go anywhere, for any amount of time, without me being with them in the car, so they can test the car in any possible way they would want to. After the test drive, customers said that the car drives fine and they would want to purchase it for an earlier indicated amount of 7000$ by the customer. Important to mention, 7000$ out the door with registration and sales tax included. Customers really wanted a car, but didn't have the full amount, and we were considering financing, but we met at the reasonable price for both parties and signed the contract. After an hour or two, I received a call from the customer stating that the car heater was working improperly. Me being confident that the car was working great asked the customer to come back and let me and licensed mechanics that I work with to take a look. Even though the car was sold "as-is" with no dealer warranty which I have to mention was offered, I value my reputation over everything, so I said that if there is a problem with a heater, I'll take care of that and will fix it for free. After a call, the customer disappeared for a week, not a single text, not a call... A Week later I received the pictures of the receipts from a different body shop which includes other services (like oil seals replacement) not only including the services related to the hvac system of the vehicle. Verdict says that they did a bunch of work, charged customers and didn't fix the issue. And they ask for more.... The question is, why would I pay for the repairs that didn't fix the issue and I wasn't aware of? I separate the terms "help" and "getting advantage of me". After reviewing the documents from the body shop, I suggested the customer look at the auxiliary water pump, because I used to be a mechanic as well and I understand what could cause the problem. The Customer signed a "Notice of complaints" which says that any issue that *** exist, should be resolved with a dealer, and not by disappearing for a week and then asking for a refund of a couple thousands. I explained to a customer that I tried to help, but they decided to go the other way. Even after they started being rude to me, I offered to order a part that they think is defective and get it delivered to their house for free, again, because I always try to resolve any issues, even if a car is sold as-is, reputation is my number 1 priority. I'm attaching the screenshots of the text messages, part of the contract, and **** order that shows that i ordered a part for a customer. I tried to do everything from my side even though I didn't have to... In exchange I got rude responses, and complaint.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I was sold a Vehicle With the information from the dealer that everything works great on the car Especially the ** and heater. At the we purchased the car My wife drove it home and maybe 20 minutes on the freeway she said she didn't feel the heater. Immediately called the dealership and told them about the problem. The guy at the dealer told me to bring it back I informed them that it's storming to hard outside and I'll just bring it back next weekend since we lived so far. (72 Miles away) He told me he was OK with that and it shouldn't be a big problem its something small. At that OK I'll see him the following week which I ended up not making it down there since my wife caught covid I took it to a mechanic that works on our other Audi and that's when we learned that the real problem was It needed a new heating cord. When I spoke with the dealer to let them know what was going on along with the receipt they simply denied it said it was nothing ever wrong with the vehicle and that the heater was working. The only thing I'm asking for is to have the heating cord fixed because I purchased the car under the information that the heater and ** worked great Which you didn't. I'm not asking them to pay with we've already pay for the car I just want the heating cord fix simple as that. I've attached the document He should have been honest and said the heater doesn't work and that would have been that but he wasn't.
