Situation: Fixing a *************************** water heater that was making knocking noise. My plumber contacted Mr. ****************************** from Cal-STEAM to discuss the possibility of what is causing the knocking noise. ******************, contacted Signature Plumbing to send a plumber to my house on 12/6/22. I was not informed I will be charged, nor the amount it would cost. I was told to expect the plumber on 12/6/22. I assumed this service was complementary since I purchased the water heater 6 months ago. The Signature plumber, ***, arrived and put his hand on the top of the rod and confirmed it was the anode rod and this is not covered by the warranty. He did not do any work physical work on the water heater. He said I will be charged for his services. I explained that it was ****************** who ordered the service and he should be charged because he made the call. Signature Plumbing is charging me $187.50 for this service. I spoke with ***** and informed her that I did not make this request nor was I informed her that I would be charged. I asked if this was a typical charge and she said no, a typical service call is about $98. I provided her with ********************** cell phone since he ordered the service. I do not approve of this charge of $187.50. This is gouging. I do not know what business commitment Signature Plumbing has with Cal-STEAM. I called Signature Plumbing on 12/6, 12/23, and 2/16 for resolution. *****, the receptionist from Signature Plumbing said she is in communication with *************************** and resend their 2nd billing on 2/14/23 to ***************************. We both know that *************************** does not cover the anode rod. She never communicated with ******************. ****************** provided the anode rod replacement at no cost and my plumber replaced the damaged rod. I want Signature Plumbing to not bill me the $187.50 for an unsolicited visit. I have attached the invoice for your review.

I was yelled at by the owner of the company when I was politely trying to explain to him that the job was not done. I had a nervous breakdown and ended up changing dripping faucet myself. See my full explanation on uploaded documents.

Tell us why here...My faucet in the bathroom sink was leaking (dripping.) I did not know if the drip was due to the worn-out faucet or a shut off valve. I am not a plumber. This is what I told the dispatcher of Signature plumbing and I also said that my faucet is leaking. When plumber came, I told him that faucet is dripping but I do not know if it is faucet issue or shut off valve under the sink. I also told the plumber that I talked to somebody from Lowes and that person suggested that the drip could be due to a faulty nipple under the sink. I also asked the plumber from Signature Plumbing (Ed) if he thinks the faucet was dripping because of the faucet worn out or shut off valves not working, and the reason for that  - the faucet was dripping after shut off valve was tightened under the sink ad main water supply was shut off. So, it is not really my job to diagnose where is the problem, I do not really know what is wrong besides dripping faucet. Plumber changed angle stop, said job is done and left. Right after he left, I went to the bathroom and saw that faucet was dripping as before! I called Signature plumbing office and said that problem was not fixed. I asked the worker to come back and was told he will come that same day between 3 and 5 pm. I agreed and was waiting and about an hour received a call from plumber that he will not be able to come as agreed as he has some other jobs to finish. I said I need this fixed that same day as other days I am working including Saturday and Signature Plumbing need my presence to do the job, and Signature plumbing open only till 5, yet I work till 530 plus travel time. We agreed that plumber will come Saturday. Then I called the office and the owner of the company, Jim took the phone. I explained the situation to him. He told me that Ed told him I could not do it the same day as agreed between 3-5 pm. I said that was not true, and worst of all I was home waiting and had to cancel all my other errands.
I also said that I have exactly the same faucet, brand new if that was needed. And also that plumber punctured a hole in cover up plate which was not there before. The plate was rusty but whole, and I asked if the plate could be replaced too.
Now the owner began to get agitated and I had to explain situation to him again and again. And then he began yelling at me. He got pretty aggressive and abusive over the phone, then yelling that he knows “what I was going to do, that I had that cheap $20 faucet and was trying to take advantage of them or have it my way,” something like that. I said I needed dripping faucet to be fixed. Then he yelled that it will be another $170 to put the new faucet in, and I said “No, I already paid $325 for the job and the job was not done. On top of it, I said, it is a lot of money for changing angle stop. Then he continued to yell that this is the price and if I do not like it I need to go to other contractors, like Boyd, and he “spelled” it yelling. By that time I was almost crying. I spent the rest of the day crying and ended up seeing a therapist and almost got in accident.
I changed faucet myself. I did not want none of these people in my house again. I had a nervous breakdown. I actually have serious medical condition and, on that day, missed my procedures and medication because of his verbal abuse.

Hi ****, I could not access my response. It went something like this

Miss **** sent us pictures of what she wanted repaired. we replaced the valves and supply lines. then she asked about the drippy faucet. Ed explained it would cost more. She declined. we spoke on the phone for a bit. The conversation went in a circle. Miss **** wanted us to repair the drip for free. we declined. I repeatedly explained our position and she hers. I suggested she call another company to do the work. I did not yell at her or verbally abuse her. She did not like the outcome and has filed this complaint. It seems she is having a rough time. We were not paid for then work we did.

I am rejecting this response because:

All that I wrote is true. He did yell, he was aggressively rude and he did not bother to accept my explanations, he cut me out and I had to repeat my point several times. He offended me by saying that “I know what you are doing, you have this cheap faucet from ******** and now …” and he did not finish. I told him that I did tell the dispatcher and the plumber that faucet is dripping but I was not sure why, since I am not a plumber.

He did not even bother to apologize personally but had his office assistant/dispatcher to text me to reschedule. At that point, after him yelling at me I was not willing to have anything to do with this company if the owner himself treats customers like that. I am being treated currently for serious medical condition and do not need to have an incident like that. I ended up sending long messages to my therapist after being on a phone with Signature plumbing owner. Like I mentioned earlier, I ended up in huge distress and missed my treatments and medications because of this incident too. I attached copies of screenshots from my hone  of my response to the Signature plumbing office.
      Thank you,
