My name is ******* and I reside in ******, ** at a complex run by Real Property Management Integrity of *********,**. During this time of year an inspection for Section 8 housing by ********************* of ********* takes place. It is suggested by housing to make any concerns for repairs known, so that you are not failed by the inspector when they arrive. I was sent a notice from the complex on 8/22/2023 saying the inspection would be on 9/7/2023. The complex had done their inspection in about February of 2023 and I mentioned that there had been a mouse and believed it came in from behind the refrigerator. The manager told me that it did not make it uninhabitable. I bought poison and ultrasonic pest plug-ins. I did not know about a hole behind the stove until the stove repairman replaced the stove in July or August 2023. He mentioned of a hole that was big enough for a mouse in view of the manager's husband, who was assisting him, who said he would let his wife know. I know this may seem confusing, but I have been told by ********************* that we have the right to ask for repairs and special inspections. This complex knew the inspection was due and I took every pest control measure going forward. After the hole had been found it should have been covered like the managers husband said. My family and I are now being evicted for following the rules set forth by ********************* and have to combat retaliation from the complex. On 10/02/2023 the re-inspection was done, and we were told we passed, again by the case worker and by the inspection company. I don't like fighting and don't need enemies, but I will speak up for myself. In 2021 I was threatened, at that time I was told by the inspector not to sign anything until repairs were done. It was during this time I was told by ********************************* that if I did not expedite signing documents my family and I would be made homeless again, she was so cold. I believe this is why I am being retaliated against.

In 2021 ********************************* threatened me with being homeless if I did not adhere to signing documents that I had been told not to sign by ********************* until repairs were completed. I recorded the conversation and turned it in, In September 2023 I am faced with being evicted by ********************************* because the complex failed a housing inspection that they knew was happening. ********************************* without repairs being done sent out an eviction notice in retaliation. Under Code ****** It should not be valid that we be intimidated and push out on the streets because the complex knew of the repair and did nothing before the housing inspection. The resolution should be that we do not have to move because we did nothing wrong.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/13/2023

    Good morning ******,
My apologies, but *************************************** sold the company almost 2 years ago. I did call in a response to this complaint early last week. We have discussed the issue with the tenant as much of the information she posted was inaccurate. We handled it with the tenant and included her Housing Representative and the tenant will be remaining in the unit as the repairs are being placed on hold.

I hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you need anything further.

I am rejecting this response because:

    Hello ******,

I hope all is well with you.
This is ******************************* reaching out to you as I have seen the documents your office sent concerning my eviction. I am not sure why *************************************** was mentioned when my complaint was against ************************************ and her discrimination towards me. It is scary that ********************* can use her title to lie to you all and intimidate me, a woman of color and then spin what she did as inaccurate on my part. I live between 2 tenants who are not black and they were not given a notice to vacate nor was the unit above me. I am on Section 8 and asked for repairs that they dismissed and caused my unit to fail the inspection with housing. I was bullied with a rent increase that said nothing else pertaining to my status/unit would change but then an eviction to demolish my unit was issued. Only until you all got involved did ********************************* recant. Was I inaccurate when she threatened us to be homeless because I would not sign documents outside of Section 8? I am adding these attachments so it would be known what people are up against and are in fear of. You all have no idea what it is like to be discriminated against and your life hanging in the balance because ********************* felt she could punish us with her power and authority. It could be cut and dry with no one questioning her method and we would have been made homeless. We want to live in peace and don't bother anyone.
