I took my 1992 mazda Miata to this Topete muffler shop on March 21st 2023 because I needed to get my exhaust done correctly. We came up on an agreement to replace the pipe I already had on my car and readjust it as well for $200 paid in cash. The issue was this tho, I showed up to their shop knowing I am missing only 1 net out of 3 nets to connect the header with the catalytic converter. They told me we will find you the third net and put it on for you to have everything completed. I was happy with that but they never found a net and decided to just weld the third screw instead of putting a net and they never informed me about this! After I had left their shop thinking everything was done CORRECTLY 4 days later I started hearing a noise coming out from the header instead of the noise going through out the exhaust and exiting from the back. That’s when I realized there is something wrong, I lifted my car up on jacks at home and seen they had welded the screw and the welding was undone or broken if you will. I said to myself it’s no problem I’ll just take it back and have them look at it. I took it back there on March 24th 2023 they argued and said “we had to work with what we had” instead of addressing me of the issue to find a better solution they refused to fix it for me and told me to “Get the F*ck out my shop” and also claimed my bolt was stripped when it clearly isn’t. ALSO THE OWNER OF THE SHOP ASKED ME TO PAY IN CASH ONLY when I was planning to pay with my debit card. Finally today, 3/30/2023 I took my car to another muffler shop and they basically told me they did a horrible job and that it was done incorrectly. So now I have to pay them $350 to fix everything correctly. I just want this issue to be addressed and have them pay for their damage and expenses caused by it.
