I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to address the challenges I have encountered in maintaining punctuality for the morning classes, which have been largely influenced by unforeseen personal circumstances.

As you may be aware, I have been committed to my education and have made prior arrangements to ensure my attendance. Regrettably, a critical situation has arisen that has disrupted these plans. My childrens father has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy treatments every other week. The severity of his condition has rendered him unable to assist with our childrens morning routine, directly impacting my ability to arrive at class on time.

The gravity of this illness cannot be overstated, as chemotherapy sessions are intensive and debilitating. This has placed an unexpected burden on my schedule, one which I am striving to manage with the utmost responsibility.

I am reaching out to request your understanding and to discuss potential accommodations that could be made under these trying circumstances. My dedication to my studies remains unwavering, and I am eager to explore solutions that would allow me to fulfill my academic obligations without compromising the well-being of my family.

I appreciate your consideration of this matter and am open to any suggestions you may have. Your support in this difficult time would be invaluable.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent issue. I look forward to your response and am hopeful for a positive resolution.
others, making me unhappy... I told her about my problems and requested for a break from ****************, but she also said no. Today, I was dropped from the program. I want to go to school and get an education.Just can't make it in the mornings. I am requesting a brief leave of absence to assist my kid and father in overcoming the emotions that I am experiencing as a result of his father's disease. want to be shifted to night classes so that I just have to attend class once. I maintained regular communication with my teacher, consistently maintained high academic performance, and diligently completed all necessary makeup assignments. the individual was aware of my circumstances, as I consistently requested a transfer to evening classes due to the morning schedule becoming impossible for me. They assured me that they would accommodate my needs. I requested a break (as suggested from classmate) , but received no response other than being expelled from the program.

    CASE ID#: ********- ***************************

    Dear ****************,

Thank you for providing us with an opportunity to respond to complaint #********, submitted by ******************************* to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving *******************  **************** began the Medical Billing and Insurance Coding (MBIC) program at UEI College- Gardena (UEI) on February 27, 2024 and was withdrawn from the program on June 20, 2024 due to violation of the schools attendance policy.

**************** Violated the Schools Attendance Policy

**************** states, when I asked to move to night classes, my teacher discouraged me, saying that we could figure things out.  On June 19, 2024, a text was sent by Ms. **************************** the Associate Director of Student Affairs (****) as **************** was close to violating the schools attendance policy, which would result in being dropped from the program.  **************** asked if she could take a break from school.  **************** requested that **************** come into the school to meet and discuss her options.  However, **************** did not meet with the **** as requested and was subsequently dropped from the program when she violated the attendance policy.

Students cannot Change their Schedule Until the End of a Module

While **************** requested to have her schedule changed, she requested the change during a module (course).  ********** advises students to complete a module before moving to a different class time.  If a student changes their schedule during a module, they will not successfully complete the module and will have to repeat it.  For this reason, **************** was encouraged to complete MB2011-160 Insurance Practices which would have ended on June 24, 2024.  However, *************** did not complete the module and she had ceased lab attendance since June 5, 2024 which resulted in being dropped from the program.

The School Encourages *************** to Return to Complete her Program

**************** requests permission to attend night classes.  **************** is welcome to return to the school to reenter and complete the program.  **************** is encouraged to contact *************** to schedule a time to meet and discuss an evening schedule that will work for her availability.

At this time, the school has provided a detailed response to the complaint. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
    Sincerely,

    CASE ID#: ********- Asia ********

    Dear ****************,
Thank you for providing us with an opportunity to respond to complaint #********, submitted by Ms. ********************* to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving *******************  ******************** began the Medical Assistant (MA) program at UEI College- Mesa (UEI) on November 23, 2021 and graduated from the program on August 16, 2022.

******************** has a Remaining Balance on her Student Account.

In her complaint, ******************** states that she is unable to obtain a copy of her diploma due to having a balance on her student account.  During enrollment, ******************** read and signed her Enrollment Agreement and received a copy of the School Catalog. Both the Enrollment Agreement and the School Catalog clearly states that students will not receive a copy of their Diploma or Transcript if they have not satisfied their financial obligations with the school.

At the time of her enrollment, the cost of ******************** tuition was $19,900. ******************** received $9,402 in federal student aid, plus a Pell ***** of $6,495.  To address the remaining amount not covered by federal loans and grants, ******************** agreed to an installment payment plan with the school in the amount of $3,253.  ******************** payment plan had both in-school and post-graduate monthly payments. However, ******************** still has a remaining balance of $3,102.  ******************** has not responded to the schools attempts to reach her since August 16, 2022. ******************** still has a responsibility to submit repayment for the remaining amount before she is eligible to receive a copy of her diploma.

Externships are Part of the Program Requirement and are Not Paid Positions

******************** states that she completed her externship but was not paid for the experience.  The MA program is comprised of the didactic portion which is conducted through a hybrid modality (online lectures and on-campus labs) and the externship. Students are assigned to complete 250 externship hours where they utilize their skills learned in the program. Externships are part of the requirement for graduation and are not paid positions.

Students Must Meet the Entrance Requirements

******************** states that she had convicted felons in the class.  The decision to enroll in higher education is a personal one, as is the choice of pursuing a vocational education through a career training program versus a community college.  Regarding this students classmates, *** believes everyone has a right to pursue an education, regardless of their socio-economic background and previous life challenges.  *** believes in providing students with a second chance in life.  Regardless, all students must successfully meet the general admission requirements to proceed with enrollment, then must continue to meet the program standards in order to remain in and complete their program.

The School Respectfully Declines the Students Refund Request

******************** requests that she receive a refund of tuition.  When ******************* enrolled into the MA program, she agreed to the financial arrangements with her lenders, participated in her educational program and graduated.  ********** has provided the program that ******************* attended; and successfully graduated, therefore we respectfully decline ******************** request for a refund.

At this time, the school has provided a response to the complaint and would encourage ******************** to work with the school to address her remaining student account balance.

I attended ************* campus back in the day. I went for pharmacy tech, and I got all my books attended class but it was like we were teaching ourselves. A teacher would come in and say do this but would not teach us or show us and he would leave. He would sometimes come back into class right before it was time to leave. So we would do book work, but not really understand what we were doing. The labs were worse as he would tell us to open our books to the example and follow them. He would not teach at all. Every assignment was an A or B but one time I tested to see if he was actually grading our stuff and just wrote numbers down and gibberish and I still got a B. I left the school after 2 semesters but still got charged the full amount and am still paying back the student loan to pay for the school.

    CASE ID#: ********- ***************************

    Dear ****************-

Thank you for providing us with an opportunity to respond to complaint #********, submitted by ***************** to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). A thorough search of our records did not reveal a student file that matches ******************** information provided in the complaint.  Although ****************** states that she attended UEI College- ********* (UEI) in the Pharmacy Technician (PT) program and only attended for two semesters, we do not have a student file that contains this information in our current system. While ****************** contends that she attended back in the day she did not provide her dates of enrollment which would assist us in additional attempts to locate her file.

****************** has not Responded to Contact Attempts

Upon receipt of ******************** complaint and after reviewing the information provided in the complaint, it was noted that ******************** current residence is in ********, whereas the School that she states she attended is in **********. To locate ******************** student file, an email was sent to her on December 19, 2023 to request additional information, but she did not respond.  A second contact attempt was made by phone on December 20, 2023, however ***************** did not respond to the request for her address at the time of her enrollment and the date of enrollment.  As we have not received any additional information to locate ******************** file, we are unable to respond with specifics but will provide a general response to her claims.

****************** is Responsible for Repayment of Tuition for the Enrollment Period

****************** claims that she left the school after two semesters but still got charged the full amount.  It should be noted that the PT program is not scheduled by semesters but instead is provided by modules. A module (or class) is comprised of 20 days.  If ***************** attended only two modules as she claims, she would not have been charged the full program amount. Instead, ****************** would only be responsible for repayment of tuition for the two modules that she attended. As we are unable to view ******************** student account ledger, we are unable to confirm the amount that ****************** is responsible for.

****************** did not File a Complaint with the School

At the time of enrollment, students are provided with a copy of the school catalog, which clearly outlines the process for submitting a complaint to the school. Students are encouraged to contact either their Executive Director/Campus President or the Director of Education to discuss their concerns. Additionally, the school catalog provides the schools Student Hotline information which the student can use to contact to file a complaint.  A search of our complaint files confirmed that ****************** did not file a complaint with the Student Hotline from 2011 through present.  Had ****************** contacted the school during enrollment to voice her concerns, the school would have been provided the opportunity to address her claims and obtain a resolve for *******************  However, as ****************** did not state any concerns at the time of her enrollment and it is possible that ****************** has waited several years to file this complaint, we are unable to resolve her claims at this late date.

The School Respectfully Declines ******************* Refund Request

In order to enroll into the program,****************** would have read and signed an enrollment agreement, which provided the total amount of tuition and fees for the PT program.  ****************** would have been required to pay for the program by utilizing student loans and/or a payment installment plan if she was unable to pay cash for her tuition. As ****************** states that she is still paying back the student ****** appears that she may have applied for federal student aid and possibly a payment installment plan if her federal student aid did not cover her full tuition.  Regardless, ****************** would have read and signed her loan application and/or payment installment plan, both of which clearly stated the borrowers responsibility for repayment and the terms of repayment. We respectfully decline ******************** request for a refund.

At this time, we have provided a response to ******************** concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,

I went to this school and had perfect grades. Teachers would spend lab hours talking about their personal life instead of teaching us important information. There would be other teachers that came in and would be verbally abusive to us and discriminatory saying we looked like s*** and that she would never hire us. They treated us like we had no other choice in a profession and treated us like we were stupid. I passed all my tests and completed all my extern and payed all my dues. Was told I would be getting my diplomas and certificates. Thats when the school stopped replying to me and always gave the excuse that I missed the graduation. I was told I was an ambassador and thats how they treated me. *** contacted the school for over a year and went in and its always some story like *********************** is not in today, or you have to contact your teacher for your certificates, teacher told me I had to get them thru ***** and ***** only replied up until it was time to schedule a day for me to come get them. This school is crazy and I regret everything. I paid money and have no proof of anything. One of the certificates expired already and I had never received it.

I had multiple problems with ***, i never got my osha as promised because they had issues with their website. That caused me to not get my osha from the college at all and i had to pay for it independently even though it was promised. We had a drug addict teacher who would always be an hour and a half late for class and when he did get there he would volunteer me to teach the class because i was the most advanced. Mind you i was a student. Not only that but i recived texts from the office ladies that were very rude even though i just asked questions? I would love to get some of my money back as compensation but it seems to be my word agaisnt theirs (i have fellow students who watched this all happen to me anr they are willing to stand by me)
