Solar did not work for ******* and a couple of months while company went through bankruptcy. We were told we would get compensation for it not working on our anniversary date in March. The new company that took over said that wasn't in their contract. So we paid Sunpowr with no acting solar for over a year.Initial Complaint

The current Sunpower Corporation is a company that purchased and restructured the original Sunpower Corp that filed for bankrupt in 2024. In November 2023, Sunpower installed a solar cell and battery backup system (Sunvault) in my residential home. The system is working fine but the company has basically abandoned thousands of us customers who installed ********************** equipment prior to the takeover. I don't expect Sunpower to honor previous warrantees but, for their own reputation, I believe they should somehow provide assistance to past Sunpower customers by at least identifying solar and battery installers in ******* who can service us customers. Despite numerous attempts I have made to contact Sunpower, they have not helped me find any solar and battery servicing companies who say they are qualified to service my Sunpower equipment. Should my Sunpower system have any malfunctions, I don't know who to contact for help.**** *****Initial Complaint

I am writing to bring to your attention an issue concerning my solar panel system associated with my account [**********].
Despite having been making payments for certain solar panels, I have noticed that these panels are currently not operational or producing energy. Additionally, I have other panels on my property that were previously active but are now off and need to be reactivated.
I kindly request your assistance to:
Confirm which panels are currently active and which are inactive on my system.
Provide details on why the panels I have been paying for are not functioning. I had two separate leases for which I was scammed because I was not aware of them being on an automatic payment. I am paying for the first system, and the panels are not operating.
Outline the necessary steps and any required actions or payments on my part to get the inactive panels reactivated.
Schedule any inspections or repairs needed to restore full operation of my solar panel system.
Please let me know how we can proceed to resolve this issue promptly. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your timely response.
Thank you for your assistance.Initial Complaint

I have been a lease customer of ********************** for over 12 years. The system worked great , I could monitor my dashboard and I paid every month. Once they filed bankruptcy the new owners have only collected money and there is NO customer service and my dashboard says system is NOT working. I have stopped payment to them this month until I get this resolved and get some customer service and a working dashboard.Initial Complaint

I am writing to formally file a complaint against SunPower, from whom I entered into a contract on August 22, 2024, for the purchase and installation of a solar panel system. The system was intended to reduce my reliance on traditional utility providers and lower my energy bills. Unfortunately, I have been left in a highly distressing situation. After purchasing and installing the solar panel system, the company has since filed for bankruptcy, leaving me without any technical support, warranty coverage, or operational assistance. The system is no longer functioning, and I am now forced to pay both the financing costs for a non-functional solar panel system and my regular electricity bill to the local utility company.I feel completely abandoned by SunPower, and this situation has placed a significant and unfair financial burden on me. I made this purchase in good faith with the understanding that it would be a long-term investment, supported by a reputable company. That trust has now been violated.I am seeking the following resolution:Guidance or assistance in resolving the financial obligation related to the non-operational *********** identifying any available recourse for consumers in my position due to the companys ****************** in holding SunPower accountable for leaving customers stranded without working ********************** or support. Please advise on how I may proceed with this complaint and if any actions can be taken to support consumers like myself who are now left paying for both an inoperative solar system and standard utility usage.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your guidance.Initial Complaint

My family lost our Altadena home on January 8, 2025, in the ***** Fire (a total loss). SunPower ************ (SunPower) installed a solar panel system on home's roof in ******* August 2024, SunPower filed bankruptcy. SunPower Financial andSunStrong Management("SunStrong") continued to provide billing services, customer service, and technical support. On January9th, I informed ********* of the loss of our home and was told to submit a "life event" online.I could not complete that online because there were no options for a life event thatresulted from anatural disaster. I contacted ********* again on February 7th about the total loss and requested that ********* cancel our Solar Lease. I was told the request would need to be reviewed by ********* as a "maintenance/repair" issue, and was offered a postponement of payments that began on February 9th. I contacted ********* again on March31st, and requested an update. I was told that the request was still under review by SunStrong. I contacted ********* again on April7th and April 8th, but was not given an update. I contacted ********* on May 20th, and requested an update. I was told that my request should not have been processed by ********* as a "maintenance/repair" issue. The representative who I spoke with said that she would elevate my request to a manager.I contacted SunStrong on May 23, 2025. The representative who I spoke to believed she understood a way to cancel the Solar Lease, but after speaking with her helpline, she told me that there was nothing that she could do to process the request and would elevate my request to her manager. She was able to postpone the payments again beginning on May9th. No one from ********* has since called me back. ********* should have insured the panels. The complete destruction of the system did not result from our gross negligence nor did we intentionally damage the system.********* should have filed a claim with their insurance company concerning this loss.Initial Complaint

I made a phone call on May 7th in regards to my solar panels. One of my solar panels were not working properly and it says for me to seek assistant. I am paying over $500 a month for solar panels to be working properly and the representative said that I would need to wait ****************************************** and this isn't even fixing the issue. I do not feel that this is right if I am not paying customer I believe that the product should be fixed or I should hold pay until it's fixed. It is not proper that I am being billed automatically monthly for this nor do I want this to affect my credit. I would really like some assistanceInitial Complaint

Sunpower was my initial provider for electricity when as a first time ********** purchased my home. It was part of the agreement as far as owning the home. Now they filed bankruptcy and gave my personal information to an llc that now collects there payments. My issue with this is that I've called numerous times about termination of my contract because the new company isn't holding up to the standards corresponding to sunpower when I obtain the service. As a consumer I was to get refunded at the end of the year for not consuming a certain amount of light. But this new company says they didn't make those agreements to the consumers .The problem being that we consumers are obligated to keep the panels but them not to keep the purchase agreement guidelines that were but when we initially agreed to the panels. I want these panels off my roof these people gave our personal info without consent and yet we are in the obligation to keep them...this is robbery and unfair.Initial Complaint

My solar system is having an issue and I cannot get a hold of Sunpower. Since their bankruptcy they have changed ownership and now I can’t contact anyone. The phone numbers I call ring once then hang up and I’ve submitted a request for service online but have received no response. I’m not sure what to do when a business automatically take money from my bank every month but doesn’t provide the service I signed up for. Please advise.
