I recently had my 2017 **** ***** hybrid serviced at Transmissions Plus. I paid for a transmission servicing and a seal replacement. I picked up my car and immediately it was making a loud wurring sound. I only drove two blocks, then went back to the shop, where they informed me they would not look at my car that day and stated that I should drive it a little then if the sound persisted to come back. I tried to drive the car the following day and well going up a highway ramp the car began making the sound loudly again. I immediately called the company where the representative *** gave me a hard time and continued to tell me he did not have time to look at my car. I left the car until the following Monday, which was 3 days later, then I took it to the shop first thing in the morning. They checked my ATF fluid levels and stated that everything should be fine. I ended up driving the following day to Orange, an hour away, where my car started making a grinding sound. I immediately stopped at an auto shop in the area and they simply jacked up the car where it could be seen that ATF fluid was leaking from the previously repaired seal and that the axle shaft was wobbling, when moved by hand. I then proceeded to drive the car home where it lost complete function, about a mile from my home, and I had it towed to the transmission shop.I spoke with the manager Blu and he would not accept any responsibility or even service my car further. I know that this is do to error on their part as I found that the company ended up charging me, but not properly servicing my transmission, which involves opening the case and changing the transmission filter, which would have shown any potential problems. Also, according to the mechanic I spoke to in Orange, ******** (who is a 40+ year mechanic and business owner) the shaft wobbling should have been an obvious sign of trouble that any transmission specialist should have noted and done further investigation before simply replacing the seal.

I am rejecting this response because:
Several critical statements presented here are false and misleading. Firstly, I did not hear any mechanical noises coming from my transmission before I have my care serviced at Transmissions Plus. Second, I never stated that the transmission overheated. I only stated that the car sensor came on at one point, which caused me to go to the dealer to have the problem checked. At that time the ******** **** Dealership performed a complete service where they replaced my battery, updated the programing, and topped off my transmission fluid. There was a minor half liter added to the transmission, where the staff stated that the leak was minor and that I could continue to top it off if I chose not to perform the seal service at that time and I then parked the car and did not drive it until I took the vehicle to Transmissions Plus a few days later. As far as the *** filter and seal goes, I purchase them through Rockauto.com where I selected my make, model, and year. I then purchase the parts that were specified for my vehicle. Per the standard **** transmission service, the filter should be replaced. When talking with ***, before bringing my car to his shop, I asked specifically if he was able to perform the service and repair for my vehicle. He quoted me $410.00 which I agreed to, he then called me to request an additional $140/HR, but never asked for additional time or funds to perform the transmission service, which should have been accurate anyway. I did pay the additional cost he requested, but they did not perform the service, where if done properly would had noticed any further damage. Frankly, I still am not sure if it was the improper installation the axle that actually destroyed the bearing anyway. In either case the work was not performed properly and it resulted in the complete destruction of my transmission, which is now looking to cost upwards of $5,800.00!!!  This is an extremely undesirable outcome from such a small initial problem and puts a unbearable burden on me, which is not just!

Tell us why here...************ STATED IN MY LAST REPORT WAS TRUE. YOU DID SAY THAT YOU WENT TO THE DEALER FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUE. YOU DID SAY THE ***** TRANSMISSION OVER HEATED. YOU DID SAY THEY SERVICED IT. THIS WAS A STATED AFTER WE CHANGED OUT THE ***** YOU NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A NOISE UNTIL AFTER PICKING UP AND BRINGING BACK.THERE WAS NO MOVEMENT IN ******** WHEN WE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AXLE SEAL

The damage that has been done to my 2017 **** C-Max ******* transmission is no less than catastrophic and the fault lies squarely on Transmissions Plus and their staff. I am providing records, here, of the last servicing of my vehicle by ******** ****, where there was no noting of any form of grinding sound and the addition of only a 1/2 liter of transmission fluid, showing that the levels were alway within operating standards and that no damage other than a slow left axle leak was noted. This shows that my vehicle was in good working order before taking it to Transmissions Plus.

I am also attaching a signed statement from ********************, the Owner of ***********************, in Orange, who assessed the work that was performed by Transmissions Plus, the very day my transmission failed. In this letter he clearly states that the service to my transmission was done improperly and led to its destruction.

I am also attaching a quote from **********, in Orange, for the replacement of the transmission.

Lastly, I wanted to, once again, urge Transmissions Plus to negotiate a fair settlement for the repair, before I have the transmission repaired elsewhere, knowing that once all the evidence I have accumulated is presented to the proper authorities they will be ultimately forced to **** the cost.

IN THE REPAIR ORDER FROM ***************** **** IT CLEARLY ****** TRANSMISSION LEAK AND OVERHEATING. THERE WERE ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION BEFORE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO OUR SHOP. WE DID A TRANSMISSION SERVICE AS REQUESTED AND REPLACED HALF SHAFT SEAL AS REQUESTED. THERE IS NO WAY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WHEN A TRANSMISSION OVER HEATS IT CAUSES INTERNAL ISSUES AND COULD LEAD TO MECHANICAL FAILURE WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. NOTHING TO DO WITH US CAUSING THE FAILURE.
