    So during Covid we had gotten Covid, me and my partner. We could not go outside for weeks and ended up sending an email to the gym about cancellation because we just could not afford it at the time. All past bills were paid on the accounts and there was no discharge fee with the company because they were not a contract gym so you could essentially cancel at anytime. After the email was confirmed from their management we turned in our fobs or key cards with both our memberships attached to them . As you can see by the photo of the email I sent to confirm everything. My partners membership was canceled but they did not cancel mine for some reason instead they went out of business and sent my account to collections with no prior warning of any payments no emails or phone calls at all. Now they have been destroying my credit and costing me money even when the company does not exist. Coming to find out the collection agency doesnt have anything on file of my account but still is somehow attached to my credit. Ive seen online I am not the only one having this issue with the previously known fitness 19. I need this taken care of because it is becoming a burden that they created out of spite. They have always been a shady company from overcharging or double charging peoples memberships to not being open when they say they are open.

    1. HVAC system release of gas to restrict oxygen during workouts and runs ; causing nausea and almost fainting .2. Water from their water fountain filtration system time released causing instant dehydration.

    I've been a member for close to 10 months now. During that time the power to the building has gone out 8-10 times that I can remember and I'm sure more that I don't remember.. ********* only goes out to the fitness 19 gym in ****** ca, none of the surrounding business's are affected at all. When this happens the gym kicks us out and makes us leave due to safety reasons.. I can understand power going out once or twice but this is a pattern, and only this building. I pay a membership fee to use the gym anytime I want during business hours, their inability to keep the electricity on is not my problem as the consumer. I want to know what the company is going to do to ensure this doesn't happen again, or I want a refund for those days that their electricity goes out.

    **Complaint Summary: False Advertising and Unresolved Debt Collection Fitness 19**I am filing a formal complaint against **Fitness 19** for false advertising and failure to follow through on a promised resolution regarding my account. The gym had previously sent my account to an out-of-state debt collection agency, *****************************, for overdue fees. However, I later received promotional messages from Fitness 19 stating that if I rejoined the gym, they would **waive all overdue fees** and **remove the account from collections**.I rejoined the gym based on this promise. However, **the fees have not been waived**, and **my account remains in collections**. I continue to receive notices from *************************, and the negative **** still appears on my credit report.Ive made multiple attempts to resolve this directly:* The **stores general manager is never available** to speak with.* When I call **Fitness 19s customer service**, they confirm that a **notice must be sent to *************************** to remove the account from collections, but this has **not been done**.This is not only poor customer service but also **false advertising**, as the gym made a clear offer that they have failed to honor.I request immediate action to:1. Remove my account from collections.2. Notify ************************* to stop credit reporting.3.     To Date ***************** Apr 30, 2024 at 11:53 AM Hello I am writing to follow up on an ongoing issue regarding overcharges on my account, which has yet to be resolved satisfactorily.On March 27, I signed a new contract and made a full payment of $1820. I was informed that this would cover both my sessions and my yearly gym membership fee, and that all previous contracts would be voided. However, since then, I have observed multiple charges made to my **** card.- March 28: $70 and $140 - April 5: $70 - April 18: $70 - April 24: $140 I reviewed my Fitness 19 transaction history and discovered there have been three reverse charges issued of $140, only one being to my ****, which posted April 26. The other transaction shows refunded to "club account" even though the original charge was made to my ****. The third reverse charge is labeled as "cash" for $140. I find this puzzling, as have never received a cash reimbursement from the ****** of now, the only money I have received back is $140 to my ****, leaving an outstanding balance of $350. I trust that you will address this matter promptly and ensure a complete refund for the incorrect charges.Thank you for your attention to this matter.     I **************** and have attempted to cancel it multiple times in writing. Despite sending several formal cancellation requests via text (as they initiated communication that way), the gym refused to cancel my membership unless I paid a past due balance and physically visited the location to sign a cancellation form.I explicitly stated I do not acknowledge the debt, revoked billing authorization, and asked for confirmation that my membership was canceled. In response, I was repeatedly told that no text will get me out of this and that the balance must be paid. They later informed me I could cancel online at ****************, but only if I paid the balance first which contradicts Californias Automatic Renewal Law. That law clearly states that if a business allows online sign-up, they must also allow online cancellation without placing obstacles in the way, such as requiring in-person visits or payment prior to cancellation.I have not used the gym, have no intention of doing so, and feel this practice is intentionally predatory. They continue to contact me, even after I requested all communication be in writing and asked for confirmation that my account was closed.This behavior violates my rights as a California consumer, and Im requesting your help to force Fitness 19 to cancel my membership without requiring payment and to stop all further contact.

    NEVER use this gym. I am perusing a fraudulent charge against them. They operate illegally and immorally. My account had been on freeze and was about to come back online, but I was affected by the LA fires and called them to let them know I would like to continue to pause for a little longer until I was physically able to go back to the gym and had recovered financially. They could not help me and put me through to several others who informed that I could attempt a freeze myself online, which I did and to my surprise I received notification that they had cancelled my account, this was without my consent, which is illegal. I therefore was unable to freeze or cancel my account myself due to cancellation pending. So I waited for it to be cancelled by them but was still charged monthly for it. I contacted the 3rd party company who they work through and informed them of this and only at that point did they tell me that they were waiting for my written consent in order to cancel my account -they never informed me of this either so this is also illegal. I would have been charged for it indefinitely had I not looked up an email to contact about this issue (nobody was able to help via phone). I complained and included screenshots of their cancellation emails and asked to be refunded for the months I was charged after this and they refused to do so. This is absolutely horrendous. Especially given Id been affected by an emergency to begin with. I did not want to cancel my account intially but now I will never use this company and will warn all others against it. When I was able to speak to the 3rd party on the phone there was a language barrier and again they said they could not help me. Incredibly they informed me Id continue to be charged for another month!!!

    ****** **** Fitness 19 I suffer from Light Deficiency syndrome ( LDS) One of the reasons Ive joined 19 was to get both Red Light treatment and sun light ( tanning chamber) neither of these "machines" are in working order and have not been functioning for weeks. The red light chamber has 21 tube lights out with only 17 working. The tanning rooms door has been locked for weeks. So , how many trainers does it take to change a light bulb ?

    I am reaching out regarding my prepaid one-year membership with 19 Fitness. I recently relocated to a new address that is more than 25 miles away from the nearest 19 Fitness facility or any affiliated clubs under the same ownership. Bank statement, house purchase closing contract and ****** map snip which shows no active 19 fitness business around my new area are attached.Following the store manager's instructions, I contacted ************* regarding this matter. Despite multiple follow-ups, I have not received any response to my cancellation request submitted on 11/26/2024. My membership contract began on 3/28/2024 and paid 12 months membership in full, and I am requesting a prorated refund for the unused portion of my membership, which amounts to $90.78.I kindly ask for your assistance in processing this refund.     I had cancelled the membership within a few days of signing up, and received verbal confirmation over the phone that this was completed. 6 months later, they proceeded to charge me for membership dues which I had already cancelled, and sent it for collections. This is a money hungry business that isn't willing to abide by its own processes of cancellation.
