    On 08/14/2024 I was told I needed a root canal and they would submit it to my insurance. After the diagnosis they stated I needed a 3D X-ray to prepare for the root canal and it would cost $400.00. They never stated there would be no refund if insurance claim was denied or I would have waited for approval. Insurance denied procedure and when I asked for a refund the said no refunds the 3D-xray was required to diagnosis the root canal. I told them I was told I needed a root canal before the 3D-xray. The manager said no refunds and you can pay for the procedure without your insurance.

    I had a major sinus infection and was referred by my dentist to RC Endodontics in ****************, **. They could not solve my mouth infection and I was then sent to an oral surgeon for an extraction. RC Endodontics, however, made an unauthorized charge on my FSA card and will not respond nor provide with an explanation of what the $254.70 for services on 3/15/2024 entailed, despite numerous contact attempts. My FSA account meanwhile wants substantiation of what the transaction is and whether it is eligible. All the while, RC Endodontics has not made any communication with my Dental Insurer,Cigna, so I cannot access what the charges represent nor substantiate my FSA account and put it in good standing. RC Endodontics, in essence, has fraudulently charged my FSA card and left me to pick up the pieces. Please help.

    Hello BBB, 

    This is in response to ID# ********-  there was not a fraudulent charge to the consumers FSA card.  The charge was for half of the consumers expected treatment plan and the other half would be paid after treatment was completed.  The patient did sign the receipt for the charge.  Due to reasons unforeseen we were not able to complete treatment and the patient was referred to another dental specialist, we did not charge the patient or Insurance for the partial treatment done.  We were still waiting for payment from the consumers insurance for the initial visit to issue the consumer a refund since the treatment plan was not completed.  The payment was just received to our office on 04/17/2024.  The written request for the consumers account ledger was not seen, the email went to spam.  We did reach out to the consumer and resolved the issue.  We did apologize for any confusion or inconvenience that this may have caused.   

    A resolution as been reached.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  management stepped up and resolved.
