Complaint Against IAAI for Unfair Auction Practices and Deceptive Terms Dear Better Business Bureau,I respectfully file a complaint against ***************************** (IAAI) for widespread unfair business practices harmful to consumers and small businesses.IAAI forces buyers to accept grossly one-sided contracts disclaiming all responsibility for property damage, title fraud, VIN tampering, and odometer discrepancies.Their Buyer Agreement shifts all risks unfairly onto buyers and prevents any meaningful recourse through forced ************** a licensed independent dealer, I have personally experienced financial loss and witnessed these dangerous systemic practices.I respectfully request that BBB note this complaint publicly to warn others.Confidentiality Request:Due to reasonable fear of retaliation, I request confidentiality unless otherwise legally required.Sincerely,Initial Complaint

Submitted an application. It was denied because I submitted my passport as my ID. I do not have any other form of ID to submit so my application was denied but they still charged me the 200 membership fee. Have called, texted, emailed and even contacted them via chat with no resolution. I did not even receive a receipt to be able to dispute it with my bank.Initial Complaint

On 11/27/2024 I purchased a 2008 ***** Malibu Vin: *****************, from *******, *****. First off I have an auction access number tied to my account but they did not link my floorplan to my IAAI account. When I called to straighten it out I spent an hour and 26 minutes on the phone. The first 71 minutes on hold, then another 15 mins with a foreigner who barely spoke English and had no Idea what I was talikng about due to language barrier. The issue is the car.... It is a shame on me, because they showed it exempt for what I assumed was age. The odometer showed $143k miles but upon further review FIVE years ago it had 227K miles on it. The condition rating was 50/50 which is in place to give you confidence in your purchase. Make no mistake that condition rating means nothing. I am awaiting the linking of my floorplan to the account but still I only have 48 hrs to pay so it has to be completed by Monday now due to Thanksgiving holiday. I tried to unwind the deal by paying them some fee so as to make money still...But they refused and told me I had to pay a minimum of $1,000 bucks. I was looking for some equitable solution and was denied. I would pay a fee and they could run it back through the auction but instead I was told I had to pay for the car, they ship me the title send it back, then run it back through and attempt to recoop whatever little I could. Their fees are ridicullously high. BUYERBE BEWARE, BECAUSE THEIR CONDITION REPORT MEANS NOTHING....ABSOLUTELY ZERO CONFIDENCE IN WHATEVER THEIR LISTING SAYS.Initial Complaint

I bought a 2006 *** 325i from their ***********, AK branch. Immediately after purchasing and payment, I contacted the branch and explicitly requested that they DO NOT move the vehicle from where it sat AND to NOT USE A FORKLIFT OR ANYTHING SIMILAR TO MOVE IT to prevent any damage, and as I had arranged immediate pickup via their preferred third party transport Montway llc. The lady told me they would not move the vehicle as requested and NOT USE any forklift or moving equipment. I then called ******* and told them that the were to pick the vehicle (using a rollback) up as it sat shown in the pictures and to let me know if it had been moved, which the woman on the phone also agreed to. I also sent follow up emails to both, as I did not want the vehicle damaged. Upon delivery the transporter took photos and was in a seeming rush to leave, then I noticed the damage on the drivers side. Looking underneath I notice forklift skids that tore the **** points off. When I reached out to IAAI they refused, as well as Montway, to send photos from pickup. The damage seen was after the posted pictures and Montway Llc will not respond whether a forklift was use to pick up and where it was picked up from, since they have documented with photos. The damage done is $750-1000 and in a place extremely hard to fix (factory edgewise on the body) damage is seen on both the drivers door with red paint (most likely from the lift used) and on the rear drivers door. IAAI refused to file insurance claim for the damage they admittedly caused and stopped responding. Montway llc has refused to respond at all. The damage is not present in the sale pics which I purchased the vehicle based on.Initial Complaint

On December 27, 2023 I paid for the 2018 ***** Colorado vehicle stock number ******** and as well I paid a towing service from iaai the to ********** seaboard marine. This is the date that I have not received my vehicle, I have contacted the branch manager named ************************* who has been very helpful. I contacted the manager of iaai towing division named *************************. He decided to call me two weeks ago and has not contacted me.The problem is that an iaai employee named *************************** decided to send my vehicle to another address because he hired a towing service that did not have a license to enter the port. The excuse he made was that the vehicle had gasoline and that it could not enter the port. port when the driver without a license had already arrived at the port, it should be noted that every driver with a port license knows that the vehicle cannot have a lot of fuel.*****************************, without my authorization, left the vehicle in a yard and after two days he sent it to an IAAI branch in *****.As a customer who pays for a vehicle and its transportation to the port, the vehicle must be delivered to the address I provided the day they took the payment for the service.I would greatly appreciate your help since I am losing money and time due to the incompetence of iaai's and ***************** since the beginning.Initial Complaint

State Farm hired IAAI to remove a burnt out salvaged camper from my driveway.IAAI wrecker came and literally dragged the camper down my gravel driveway causing extensive damages by allowing glass, nails and other fire debris to be littered throughout my gravel driveway. The driveway has been unusable since June 2023 and IAAI and State Farm are both neglecting this responsibility.Initial Complaint

The car I bought was damaged after IAAI received the payment. The bumper cover was damaged while loading the car on the *******************************************. I immediately notified the *** branch customer service and provided evidence before the vehicle left the *** site. ******* from customer service said yes we did but we won't cover it and the best we can do is $18.75 I don't know why $18.75 and that's not reasonable . Filled out and submitted a complaint from their website - no response. Any help or advice would be appreciated.Date: Jan 09, 2023 Stock number: ********; VIN: *****************Initial Complaint

I previously selected the "Buy Now" option on there website IAAI.com for vehicle stock number ******** and was under the impression by there policy agreement that the vehicle did run and drive and that the vehicles steering did make 1 full rotation to the left and 1 full rotation to the right. As seen the in the pictures the vehicles steering wheel is facing to the right, the driver's side tire is facing straight and the damaged side of the vehicle "passenger side" tire is facing to the left side of the vehicle. In my opinion and according to there policy agreement the vehicle should make a full rotation in steering on each side and that cannot be possible if the tire is crooked and that the steering wheel is facing the opposite direction the tire is going. I believe that them placing a $1000 fee on my account is uncalled for and would like to get it removed because of them falsely listing this vehicle as what they call "Runs and Drives" and the vehicle being able to make a full rotation of steeringInitial Complaint
