I opened a checking account, I didnt have my wife on it and ended up having to close 2 accounts to get one open with her on it. Evidently there is no way to add someone. I called to verify my final account was enrolled in the promotion to get $300 after 30 days if I deposited a certain amount. I was told it was, so I deposited the amount. After 32 days I called to verify I earned the promotion, after not getting a response to a secured message. I was told I was enrolled to get the bonus, then I wasnt, then they had to check and call me back. I received a call back saying I had done what was needed and earned the bonus, would be paid next month. I then got a reply to the secured message that I wasnt enrolled in the bonus and wouldnt get it. I then got an email saying my account was just noiw enrolled in the bonus promotion, and I would have to put $50,000 of new money in to get it. I called back and got a supervisor who couldnt explain why I was told what I was told, I was not enrolled in the promotion, and she would research it. She tried to tell me things that were not factual. I would avoid this bank.Business Response

On 2/19/2021 I closed an account with ********************, and was told a check for residual interest would be mailed to me within a month. A check was not received and the matter was forgotten. However, on 7/30/2024 *** issued a notice via postal mail that the unclaimed residual interest ($130.24) they failed to send (check number ***** dated 2/23/2021) would be transferred to my resident state (********) if I did not contact CIT Bank about the matter before 10/2/2024. I contacted CIT Bank (at ************) on 9/5/2024 and was directed to complete and submit a check stop-payment request for the unreceived check they claimed was sent in 2021; after which, a replacement check would be issued and mailed to my home address within 30 days. I completed and submitted the stop-payment form, and CIT Bank confirmed they received it; however, a replacement check was never issued. Instead, when I contacted CIT Bank for an update in November of 2024 they claimed a check (for $130.24) was sent to **************'s unclaimed funds division - contrary to what they were supposed to do. CIT Bank has now washed their hands of the matter and insist I must try to recover the funds from Colorado's unclaimed funds division.Business Response

CIT BANK approved my bank account application 11-11-2024 and transferred 6000 dollars from my checking account **********. When I received an e-mail to check my balance, I couldn't log in because my phone number was not among the options I had to choose from. After repeated phone calls after my account was locked and put under review, I hope this doesn't have to come to a court of law. I made the big mistake of not checking with BBB before opening this account.Business Response

I had opened a savings account on 9/25/2024. Around a week later they chose to close my account without any communication to me about this process. I had deposited $*****. I received the letter informing me of the bank closure on 10/28/2024. I called customer service to inquire about the amount I had in my savings account and the customer service representative informed me that there was a check issued to my address at ****************************** sent on 10/25/2024. I have been waiting for now over 17 business days for this check and it has not been received. On 11/13/2024 I called customer service again to check on the status of the check and now they had informed me that it was processed electronically to my ************************* account which is false and I contacted ************************* to corroborate. Now It appears that CIT bank has LOST my *****. And has no information about where it went or even why my bank account was closed. This is months worth of my hard earned money and I will have to pursue legal action against CIT bank if this is not resolved in a timely manner.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:this response is vague, dismissive and seems as though my complaint was not even read through. This is exactly the way CIT bank has been treating me thus far. This is how they got me into this mess.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: I would like CIT bank's explanation to go through BBB. Contact BBB first before myself when you have come up with a solution. I do not wish to have this issue dismissed. I need a witness to document any further mistakes CIT bank makes.Sincerely

This bank has incredibly unreliable customer service and has currently left me stranded without a line to my income while on vacation for the last 3 days. Though I have already called in advance to inform them that I will be traveling, they have shut my card down. When I call them to have the ban lifted, they will ***** me between their customer service and fraud departments for hours, never giving me a solution and always saying that the ban lift is the other party's responsibility. I have had this happen before when a purchase of mine was detected as fraud and was on the phone with them for days. I'm currenlty without a solution in another country and am having zero progress, despite providing all the necessary credentials to help them along with solving the issue. Additionally, their email verification system does not work, the company knows it does not work, so they will put customers through gruelling sessions of questioning to verify their identities rather than simply fixing thier systems. These sessions have extended into inappropriate question-asking, such as what my account numbers are for other banks. I'm writing not simply to complain but to demand that I receive the proper assistance to allow me access to my savings so that I may continue to have a lifeline to my financial resources. I'm deeply disappointed in CIT and will not be working with them thereafter. Additionally, I require professionals at CIT to work closely with me towards the successful transference of my savings to another, more competent bank.Initial Complaint

On the fifth of January I got approval from CIT bank to open a savings account at their bank in the amount of $20,000. They processed to transfer the money from my PNC ************ account to my new savings account at their bank. I did not attempt to access that account until February fifteenth for the purpose of setting up a direct deposit transfer. I was unable to do so, so I called the customer service number. After reviewing my account the person said he spoke to his supervisor and found that my account was under review for 10 days. Why I asked. He didnt know and wouldnt be able to talk to anyone to find out. But I would get a call or email. I got neither, so I called again. Same procedure. ******** put me on hold, talked to a supervisor and told me that I would get an email or phone call within 24 to 48 hours. When neither came, I called again. This time I talked directly to supervisor ****************************************** informed me that no one, within what they call the review board, had been made aware of my calls. She then told me that the review board is very busy and it now it could take 30 to 90 days for me to find out why my account suddenly came under review. I would like to ask, If there was a problem with my account, why wasnt it resolved before you took the money out of PNC bank and put it in yours? I only wish to find out why my account has come under review and resolve the problem. It is my hope that the BBB can contact someone who directly handles reviews. Because the people that answer the phones and their supervisors, apparently have no access to these people. Or in my case, didnt bother to pass my situation along to whoever is next in line. When I talk to these people I feel like Im dealing with the Almighty Wizard of Oz who cannot see me now! Thank you. Sincerely, ******************************.
