On 11/22/23 a representative of Air Mechanical Refrigeration, **** replaced my Trane XL90 **** blower motor per the owner, ***************************', recommendation. The motor was installed but was found to be defective, as evidenced by running at a decibel level beyond the manufacturer rating. Upon owner request, the company's technician returned to my residence assess the complaint. On the first occasion, 11/29/23, the technician admitted the motor was not installed properly and made some adjustments, however, this effort did not reasonably reduce the noise level. On the second occasion, 12/01/23, the technician returned to lower the motor speed to determine if that would reduce motor noise. The adjustment did not reduce the motor noise. At this point I determined the motor to be either faulty or the wrong model. I requested the owner to replace the motor, which he claimed was OEM and purchased directly from the Trane distributor. The owner, after much pressure from me and mutual business contractor the owner has worked with in the past, personally came to the house and reviewed the **** system and motor installation. Owner, ***************************, denied any issue with motor functioning, however, he stated he added 2 machine screws to further secure the motor to the housing. The modification did not reduce motor noise. I again requested the motor be replaced, as it should be under warranty. Owner refused. I then requested a copy of the motor purchase receipt so that I could personally exchange the motor. Owner again refused. Owner behavior and lack of accountability for labor and parts is unethical and does not meet professional standards. It is likely the part in question is not as advertised, is not OEM or is substandard to the existing **** requirements. I am requesting the motor be removed, exchanged and installed to system standards. I have lengthy texts supporting my claims and concerns directly with ***************************

    Business Response

The original compliant, system not heating. We replace the faulty blower blower motor. The system is now heating.  No compliant there.
He now wants us to make hes mechanical system silent. That is beyond the original work scope. This system has about a 10 feet return duct and return register is below some shelf.
all system have levels of sound it creates. The further the system from the supply or returns the lower the system will be. The system sits under the common area in the crawl space under the house.  Trane system was never manufactured to be completely silent. So what he is asking is beyond a reasonable request.
