On 8/13 I purchased a 2006 Pontiac G6 from this dealer for almost $12k and also traded in my ******** for which he only gave me $1500. The other day I took the car in to have the brakes checked (they were squealing) and the technician discovered that the entire subframe of the car was badly damaged to the tune of $10k. When I told **** (********), owner of company, he said bring it back. When I took the car back he said he was going to have his people look at the underside of the car. He let me take my ******** to get home and I waited there for his call. He called and said bring the title to the Pontiac, were going to make the switch. I thought great. When I got to his office though something had changed in his demeanor. He said that HIS PEOPLE had determined that the damage was fresh, and that I had done it myself, which is NOT TRUE. He proceeded to lie about everything, even going so far as to say that I called him the day after the sale and told him that I wanted my car back. Also NOT TRUE. I did text him that I saw he was selling my worthless car that I had traded in for $8k!!! I think he knew about the damage and sold me an unsafe car. He should have to take it back.

I am here because I purchased a car from SoCalMotorcars on August 13th and three weeks later I took it in to have the breaks checked and the technician discovered major damage to the subframe which has not been disclosed to me.  At first the owner of SoCalMotorcars **** ******** was going to return my money, but he had his people look at the car and they told him that the damage is fresh so **** thinks I did it, which I did not.  So now I am stuck with an unsafe vehicle that is worthless.  I would appreciate any help you can provide.  I would like him to take the car back and return my money, and sell me my car back for what he paid for it.

I did receive a call at 6:30 am the morning after the customer purchased the car and she asked me if she could have her trade in back and bring back the car she purchased. I explained that I wouldn't do that any more than I would call my customer back because I changed my mind about the transaction.Three weeks later, the buyer called me from a repair shop and told me that the mechanic inspected the vehicle and told her that there was subframe damage. I showed her the Carfax Vehicle History report prior to her decision to purchase the car. I reminded her that she suggested she wanted to take the car to have a pre-purchase inspection completed prior to making a purchase decision, at which time I told her that I think it's always a good investment to have that done, but she chose not to because she "was tired of looking for a car for several months and just wanted to get it over with".  Then she expressed concen that the purchase price was slightly above what she had set out to accomplish and asked me if I would take her car as a trade in to reduce the total amount owed to finish the deal. I told her that I'd be happy to appraise the trade in and I showed her auction values to help me determine what it should cost me to purchase a similar car. When I finished the call with her, I called the repair shop to speak with the manager about her claim. I told him that she bought the car about three weeks ago and that I was not aware of any damage to the car. He explained what his technician showed him and told me that she brought the car in for a pre-purchase inspection. He said he didn't know that it was already purchased by her. I then called her back and asked her to bring the car to me so that i could have a body shop inspect the vehicle. She dropped it off a short time later and I had the vehicle inspected. They told me that the damage that was described by the mechanic was correct and that they suspected that the damage had just recently occurred since the broken metal was very shiny as oppossed to all the metal around it that showed 19 years of use. I suspected that she damaged the car during the three weeks that she had been driving it but I felt badly that it had happened. She asked me if i would split the cost of repairs and I told her I would, and I have given her a car to drive while hers is being repaired. She has since told me that she filed a complaint with the BBB but that I should not pay any attention to it and that she would have it removed. Apparently the complaint has been withdrawnnot which is why I am responding to your letter. I believe allis well now , as she has been far more cordial than she had been since I am paying for half of the repair costs.

I am rejecting this because IT IS ALL LIES.  I never called him at 6:30 the next day asking for my car back.  There is proof of that on our cell phones.  I texted him a sarcastic message later on about my car, which he told me was worth only $1500 at auction, and was now being sold by him for $7k.  I thought that tacky, but I didnt ask for my car back.  Three weeks later I took my car in to have the brakes inspected, and the whole car looked over, because I had not pre-inspected it (stupid) and wanted to know what so had.  I was also taking a long trip in the car and just wanted to make sure all the fluids were topped etc.  When the mechanic put the car on the rack, and took the wheels off, he noticed substantial damage to the subframe and other components.  I was furious and called **** who told me to bring the car back.  On 9/5 I got an estimate from Prestige Autobody.  He then told me he wanted HIS ***s to look at it, which I stupidly agreed to, and they told him the damage was fresh, which it couldnt be, because I DID NOT CAUSE THE DAMAGE in the three weeks I owned the car.  I am a very careful driver, and I am an honest person.  Basically EVERYTHING in his response is an out and out lie, except the last part, about coming to an agreement of sorts.  We have agreed to each pay half of the bill to repair it.  I just want to be done with this.  The car is currently at HIS body shop, because he refused to take it to the one where I got the estimate.  Of course the new estimate from HIS body shop was the same as the estimate as mine.  I went there on Saturday and the *** said the car was almost done so I stupidly paid ****, not the body shop, my half thru Zelle.  Anyway, its his word against mine, and I dont want to deal with this any longer.   I just hope all is well with my car, and I get it back soon, and I thank **** for the use of the *** loaner car.
