I scheduled an appointment for my dog's vaccinations on 10/13/2022 for an 12/01/2022 with ********************************. I called Linda mar veterinary hospital on 11/25/2022 to ask if they may be able to prescribe heartgard for my dog who needs to take it on Nov 28th which is 3 days before my scheduled appointment or perhaps see him earlier than 12/01/2022. The hospital manager ********* informed me that they could not accommodate an earlier time. I ended the call by stating that I will try to find another hospital who can provide us with the heartgard and that he will see ******************* as scheduled on 12/01/2022 for his vaccinations. Less than 10 minutes later ********* called to inform me that she canceled my dog's appointment on 12/01/2022 because she feels that we may cancel our appointment. I responded that it is imperative for my dog to receive his vaccinations in time as scheduled. She responded that she feels from our earlier call that we might cancel our appointment so she prefers to cancel it now. I reminded her that my dog's health would be put at risk if she cancels our appointment since his usual veterinary hospital has closed down and we scheduled this appointment over 6 weeks in advance. She said that she does not care and that as hospital manager she has the right to cancel any and all appointments she wants without having to provide any justification. We could no longer contact the clinic because ********* blocked our phone numbers. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also violates all our rights to care for our dog. For simply asking questions we are punished and denied care for our dog. Despite requesting to speak to the medical director, ********* declined and informed us that she has all the power to make these decisions about all patients. Our dog is now left without care and without vaccinations at the last minute possible because of *********'s feelings. This is absolutely unacceptable and we request that this situation is investigated in detail.Initial Complaint

On January 19th, 2022, I called Linda Mar Veterinary Hospital (the Vet) and requested an appointment for ******** my dog to determine if she had constipation or blockage from a foreign object. The Vet called back and offered a 10:30 appointment, which I accepted. At 10:15 I started my dog ready to go to the Vet. However, she had a strong smell and I noticed that she had dried ***** matter stuck to her fur. I washed her bottom and proceeded to my appointment. At 10:45, I received a call from the Vets receptionist informing me that they would not examine my dog because I was past their 15 minute allowance for an appointment and would consider me a no-show. I informed the receptionist that I was on Linda Mar street and less than 2 min away and again she informed me that the Vet would not examine my dog. I spoke with the *********** Manager and explained the situation and informed her that I was never informed of their 15 minute late policy. Based on these 2 factors, I requested the fee be waived and I was denied. The Office Manager stated their policy is stated on their billing statement, which is false. Their billing statement reports A $80 NO SHOW fee will be charged for any missed appointment without 24 hr prior cancellation or reschedule notification. First, I was proceeding to the appointment and informed not to appear. I had been a client of the Vet for over 3 years and I was never informed of their 15 minute late policy either in writing or orally. As a consumer, how can I avoid any penalties if the the Vets does not inform me of his billing practices?Initial Complaint
