Hello, we took the car to this place to have new engine put in and after the engine was placed car was running for about a day or 2, took it back and serveral additional charges for things supposedly wrong. After we took car back we had to have it towed home not working not running. Mechanic said it the computer is out, but he refused to take responsibility or refund any money. This car was for my son and now we are out almost 4k. After engine was placed car was running for a bit, had to take back and when we took back the additional charges and no longer running due to computer. Owner tried to cover himself by sending this text to me but not true, we had to have the car towed back to our home not working, we paid for the tow. So disappointed! See text message. Hello sorry to address this issue on this website. I'm not a fan of discussing my personal business over the internet only to publicize, exploit, and benefit at someone elses expense. So moving on, this customer came to me and asked me to install a used engine. I said sure do you want me to make sure it's a bad engine? He said please do. So I verified the engine was bad, there was compression leaking from cylinder to cylinder and the lower block was making noise. The engine was not running right. It is impossible to see if there is some kind of electronic or electrical component or module that is going bad or is bad. We agreed to a used motor with the transfer of parts. This means I will transfer your old parts to this engine. The only thing I am responsible for is the long block everything else are your parts from your original engine. When you picked up the car I let you know the throttle body was going bad. I let you know that I reset the idle and it would hold and then the idle would go up and kick a code idle high. You told me that you did not want to spend any more on this car. I said We'll reset the computer so it relearns. Just drive it and maybe it will fix itself. You said okay that was fine. I get a call almost 3 weeks later that the car won't move. I had it towed over and I paid for the tow and your boy said he's been driving it everywhere Camarillo Oxnard everywhere. I told you the problem was still the throttle body and now we replaced it and it was fixed. Two weeks later you call me and tell me the engine is shaking and the car is down the street. I again I tow it over and I paid for the tow, diagnose it for free, and replaced the bad ignition coil which has nothing to do with the engine replacement, for free. Again I'm only responsible for your engine, not YOUR old/worn components. That was courtesy. Your son walks in and grabbed the keys off my desk and I didn't even get thanks. Then you call me like three weeks later and say to me the car is broken down the street so I have it towed again, at my expense, and start to diagnose it for free. My scanner can't communicate with the car's computer. I went under the hood to test and see if the computer had power and ground. That is when I found that where the computer sits on the frame was crumbled due to an impact from an accident before you purchased the car. When I brought this to your attention, you told me that you found this car on the internet and drove out to LA at night in a parking lot and bought this car and in the daytime, it didn't look like the one you saw on the net and that's why you didn't see the damage under the hood. Look every sons first hero is their dad. I understand you drove far to get your son a good deal on his car. I get that but trying to use me as your scapegoat is not going to happen. I'm not responsible for what other damages your car has. You let the car sit at my shop for 4 weeks. I tried calling you and you didn't answer. I was kind again and did not charge my normal fees for storage. I mean the kindness train has run out, how much more do I need to give before you are okay? And know you are trying to hurt my business to get me to do more free work. I'm sorry but you need more work and I Don't Want to Do It. Next time have your car properly inspected before blindly purchasing something you find online. I was not hired to do a full inspection, you only requested for me to inspect/replace the engine. A car has many many other components that are worn and will need replacement periodically, especially after a car accident. Thank you and God Bless ***.Initial Complaint

I needed an engine rebuild in 2020, he agreed to take the job needing half the money upfront which was $3,000. Took him about 7months for him to complete it blaming the part manufacturer for it being back ordered or delivery guy taking forever or simply blaming the machine shop to taking to long as well. I was able to ask was particular part was he looking for, then cross referenced it with my local parts store and they had it in stock. I got my truck back finally and it was damaged, he denied it at first then agreed to buy my driver side tail light, he didn’t order it right away took me 3 tries of confirming if he ordered or received the part yet to finally place the order. Drove it for about 2 months and had to take it back because the seat in the valve fell and had to rebuild the heads took about a month and a half to get it back just to take it back about 2 weeks later because the engine lost compression in cylinder 3 due to improper install on the heads at the time it’s late 2021 saying it would be about another 2weeks, it’s now July 2022. Time goes by asking for updates he doesn’t know much just blames the machine shop then I ask him to call for update just sends me over pretty much doing his job, now asking both the owner joe and the machine shop for updates gives me the run around, lying about promising to be done at this certain day, ignores my phone calls. Then joe does an unauthorized relocation of my truck to the machine shop without a call or update had to find out next day when visiting the machine shop he put my parts in the middle seats of the truck damaged now, improper. Have giving them multiple deadlines in hopes of getting it back and neither shop seem to care about it. He gives updates on what’s done to the engine with progress to visit the next day with no progress done siting the same way I saw it previously. Then come the excuse as to why when they used that same excuse 3 times already. Now joe refuses to give updates or check up himself.Business response
