I am requesting a full refund from **************** *** (aka Righteous Rentals) at **********************************. On Jan 14, 2024 I booked at stay at a 2 bedroom unit with full kitchen at *************************************************************** to begin on January 31, 2024 and end on March 1, 2024 (see confirmation email). On January 14th I also signed the attached rental contract. I was charged $3386 for the stay. That equates to $99 per night plus taxes (see advertisement below). Contract is not valid Note that ********** law 1102-1102.17 (2022) requires landlords to provide tenants with a written disclosure, prior to signing a rental agreement, when they know, or have reason to know, that mold exceeds permissible exposure limits or poses a health threat. The Centers for Disease Control states "If you can see or smell mold, a health risk may be present." I was not informed of any potential for mold on the property until January 25, 2024. On January 25, 2024 I received check in instructions.The unit and its replacement were uninhabitable due to intense fish smell, visable mold on walls, and inadequate security (door would not unlock from outside).
