***************************** - ************ ******************************** of American Grade Construction [AGC] - at *********************************************************************** and ************************************************************* has filed an improper mechanic lien against our home for $19,000.We fired AGC on 8/9/2021 two weeks after our project was scheduled to be completed. We then hired a team of handymen to complete the project for approximately $30,000. We paid AGC $110,577.74 of a total contracted price of $129,698.00. For the next couple weeks multiple subcontractors visited our home demanding payment and threatening liens against our home unless we paid them. On September 10th, 2021 ***************************** of AGC filed an improper mechanic lien against our home (**********) for the amount of $19000. AGC did not act upon said mechanic's lien and it expired 90 days after being issued. On January 13, 2022 we sent a certified letter and email requesting the improper mechanic lien be removed by January 22, 2022. With no response from AGC we filed a petition to the courts to remove the improper mechanic lien on February 11, 2022. In addition, on November 23, 2021 Efron ******** and *************************** of Best Marble (a subcontractor of AGC) also filed an improper mechanic lien against our home (**********) in an attempt to extort $2000 for services already paid to AGC. If I could give ******* and American Grade Construction (AGC) zero stars I would. We started a bathroom and kitchen remodel in Nov 2020 and it quickly spiraled into multiple change orders, him firing his entire staff, and then we fired him after he abandoned the project and did not meet the project deadline of July 23, 2021. After we fired him on Aug 9th it went from bad to worse. He called 911 on us, convinced his sub contractors to harass us, filed an improper mechanic lien, and had his subs also file improper mechanic liens. We have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to not only finish our project but to to go through the courts and bond system to remove those liens. We won our court case and we were awarded funds from the **** (California ********************** arbitration due to American Grade Construction abandonment. While some of the workmanship done by AGC employees was good, it was marred by multiple code violations regarding electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work done to our home.
