    Marin Firearms ********************** is refusing to release my owned/registered gun to me! My registered handgun is being held for "******" by this gun dealer. 13 days ago I had this gun dealer process the paperwork for a private party sale, as is customary. I brought in a prospective buyer, and she paid for her background check fee and a transfer fee upfront. They filled out the paperwork, and were to hold my weapon for 10 days during the buyer background check. BUT when the buyer failed the B/C , they held my gun for "******" and refused to return it to me unless I paid them $198.00! In addition they said that I would have to wait another 10 days before I could retrieve my gun! This is MY gun and it is registered to ME! Outraged, I called four other gun stores in the ********. Each dealer said that they have never heard of such a charge and that I should be able to walk in and pick up my gun. This is a SCAM! The other gun dealers added that what Marin Firearms was doing was against their policy and practice and that they should release my gun immediately. I will file a complaint with the Marin District Attorney. The two guys at Marin Firearms are scamming their customers. There was never a mention of a $198.00 fee for picking up my gun if the sale was not finalized, and certainly not another 10 day holding period. This is outrageous and a scam against the consumer.
