    Decided to go with their top of the line ****** top for my ********************************************************************* purchase the top (I went with them because they had in stock the cloth top I was looking for in the right color). And they were on sale and noticeably less than a comparable ******* top. That is where the customer service ended.Top showed up on time, but the directions for installing the top were horrendous. It took two cargo straps to pull the top frame into place (I have NEVER had a top so excessively tight). I have experience installing tops myself, having done several Miata's, MBG's, T-Series MG's, Spitfire, and a couple of Porsche Boxsters. All came out as if a professional had done them. So I called for Technical support. No answer, left a message. Also called Customer support, same result. Waited several days, called again. No response. Sent email AND called a third time. As of today, no response. All I want to know is this normal for a ****** top, as I have never in my experience had a new top fit THIS tightly.Frankly I expect this top to shred itself eventually, as it is way too taut in my estimation. My fear is that I will get no warranty assistance in that event.Next time I'll go with *******.

    Bought my first top (their top of the line) and had it installed (additional $900) Within a few months it split at the seam. They replaced the top but, another $800 (installer gave me a break) to have it installed. That top only lasted a year and the rear window began to detach. When contacted they refused to consider the installation as it states in their sale that they don't cover installation, even if the top is defective. That was two tops in 2 years. I then had to pay full price again for a quality top and installation locally. I lost nearly $2,600 by dealing with them

    Ordered the top for a 986 Boxster. The top arrived fairly quickly, and I initially had no complaints. While installing the top, the fabric tabs on the left and right ripped with very little effort. I had to call Auto Tops Direct multiple times before I even got an answer. The guy I talked to, ******, initially seemed like he would be helpful, and I sent pictures showing him the issue. After a week I had not heard back from them, so I began calling again. Again, it took calling for several days multiple times and leaving multiple emails before I finally got ****** back on the phone. ****** seemed to have forgotten our conversation and after going over the complaint again, he stated that the guy that needed to approve the return would call me in 30 to 45 minutes. This guy never called and I called back again multiple times and sent more emails before I got a guy who sounded suspiciously like ****** but claimed not to be him. He stated ****** would call me back after lunch. I again never received a call. I again began calling multiple times a day and sending emails. At this point I have given up and realized from all the other reviews that this company is absolute garbage and has nonexistent customer service. I eventually took the top to a local upholsterer who made the repairs for a very reasonable price with a more substantial material. After the repairs the top was installed and looks good. Although I am satisfied with the final product; it took having it fixed by a professional who stated the stitching and material for the tabs looked subpar for what it is intended to do.
