Around July 26th when ***** ****** and his crew started the roof work, I told him I wanted the roof work done right so that the water would run off properly and be without leaks for years to come. He gave me a 10 year warranty, it hasn’t rained yet so I don't know for sure if the roof leaks yet, but most of the area of the new roof looks okay, but some areas don’t. For example, when he replaced the plywood, we spoke about the roof area that needed to be built up so that rain water would roll off the roof properly. He seemed to understand and think it wouldn’t be a big deal and said he would use shims to lift up that area to make the roof grade right. But then when I saw he didn’t do anything to fix the grade, I was concerned. But he assured me everything would be fine. But soon after Mr. ****** completed the roof work, I sprayed some water on the area I was concerned with and it puddled up (ponding) about a couple of inches. Within a few hours that area did leak, and his worker came back and fixed the leak. Because the area was still ponding, I asked Mr ****** to come back and build up the area so that it wouldn't pond anymore. On August 18th Mr ****** and his worker did some repair to the concerned area but when water is applied it still puddles and doesn’t drain off, and I’m afraid it may leak again or that the roof may be compromised over time with it repeatedly puddling up. I have since spoken to other licensed roof contractors and learned that my complaints are valid, and that low-sloped roofs should be ¼” per foot grade so that the water can run off properly. I would like Mr ****** to come back and fix that roof area so that water will run off properly and won't pond. There is a couple other small areas that also have grade issues that I’m concerned with that do pond a little, and all the pipe flashings and penetrations should have been taped with mesh fabric and properly sealed with a compound that resists cracking, which he didn't do.
