1 starMy son and I were trying to get him health insurance after he turned 26. We were contacted by *********** and lead to believe it was standard health insurance which it is not! I paid $200 month plus $100 registration fee then my son tried to use it at his ********* who said they never heard of balancecare. This was after the *** told us his ** took the "insurance". He contacted balancecare and *** **** was rude saying he should read terms and conditions. We didn't receive any terms and conditions until after payment. They refused to refund any money and this "insurance " is useless. It's $500 I'll probably never see again TOTAL SCAM!!Review fromJon S

1 starThis is a complete scam. I don't understand how this legal. We called over a year ago to cancel this coverage, which is laughable because it offers absolutely no coverage, and they continued to charge us. We called again to cancel and they refuse to refund the money, which is close to $2000, for the last year they've charged us, and they refuse to do what's right. We were billed for 2 years, the 1st of which we were signed up under false pretenses by our insurance agent. Why would we pay $200 a month for radiology? Its truly absurd and I would stay far away from this company.Unified Caring Association

1 starThis is a SCAM - I called thinking I was getting *********** I was recently divorced and dropped from a good reputable health plan. I was in a hard ship situation which **** was aware of. I listened for 1 hour why I should choose this plan over Florida Blue and other providers. I chose this plan after the hard sell thinking the cost was the rate for *********** It was $388.00 per month. The providers in the book did not know a thing about the plan either. Balance Care did not provide any coverage only discounts. Luckily, I called in time to get my money back after a trial plan.Unified Caring Association

Dear **** **** *****,
At Unified Caring Association (UCA), we take every review seriously and are currently investigating your file. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and want to ensure that your concerns are addressed.
We understand that on April 9th, 2025, after speaking with your independent licensed insurance agent, you signed up and your coverage became effective on April 15th, 2025. Upon reviewing your file, we noted that on April 9th, 2025, you received an e-signature document detailing all the benefit information. This document also clarified that the plan is not a major medical plan and does not meet the minimum standards required by the *************** Act. Additionally, it inquired about Qualifying Life Events for Special Enrollment Periods, confirming that you qualified, but you indicated on this document that you were offered an ACA plan but chose not to enroll in it because you needed immediate coverage.
To reassure you, we provide our members with a 30-day look period. If for any reason you are not satisfied, the policy can be canceled and fully refunded.
We see that you reviewed your benefits and called into the customer service department to cancel your plan. We canceled your plan and refunded you in full.
Regarding your reference to a book of providers, we do not have a physical book of providers. However, we do offer provider lists on our membersfulfillment site, and our customer service department is always available to assist our membes with any inquiries.
We are sorry that the plan did not work for you, and we wish you all the best in the future.
Sincerely,
Unified Caring Association

I ****** that s*** and discovered it was bullshit! I discovered I had been scammed. I dont care if it takes the rest of my life. Dear Ms. ************************************** (UCA) has received your complaint. We thank you for giving us feedback on what transpired regarding your son. *** takes every complaint very seriously, and we are doing a full investigation.
*** has reached out numerus times to help cancel the plan and issue a full refund as we stated the member is still within his first ************************************************************************************************************** sleeping. We have also left several voice mails with all our contact information and requested that your son call our member services department. We have not heard anything back as of now.
We regret that your son is having a challenging experience and, naturally, we feel upset when we hear that a member is not happy with the product If you have any questions or would like to speak with us, please contact ****** ********* at **********************. Dear Mr. **************************************** (UCA) has received your complaint. We thank you for giving us the feedback on what transpired. *** takes every complaint very seriously, and we are doing a full investigation.
We have reviewed your file, and it is recorded that you signed up on April 23rd, 2024. On this day you were sent an e-signature document that lists all the benefit information. We send this document so that our potential members are fully aware of the benefits. It is documented that you read and signed this document on April 23rd, 2024. This signed document was then emailed to you on April 24th, 2024, at the email address you provided.
However, as a reassurance, we do provide our members with a 30-day look period. If for any reason they are not satisfied, the policy can be cancelled, and a full refund is issued.
It is documented that you signed into your online fulfillment on May 3rd, 2024. The online fulfillment provides members with all the information included in your plan such as providers search, billing, benefits, and much more. When you signed into the online fulfillment a pop-up appears explaining that this is not a major medical plan and that it does not meet the minimum standards. On this day you accepted the pop-up and proceeded with the plan.
These plans are sold by individual licensed agents. The agent documented that you had a qualifying life event (QLE), and that you qualified for a special enrollment period (SEP) and due to this, they also enrolled into a ********** Blue Sheild Plan. We do not service that plan. You would have to contact your agent or the major medical carrier to help you with that plan as we only service the BalanceCare plan.
We regret that you had a challenging experience, but we do feel that we provided you with all the information included in your plan. We also provided you with a 30-days money back guarantee to see if the plan fits your needs. You had access to all the plan details and our contact information is in all our documents. We received written notice that you wanted to cancel your plan with no specific reason for the cancellation. We processed your cancellation as per your request and sent an email confirmation of the cancellation.
Naturally, we feel upset when we hear that a member is unhappy, but we do not feel that a refund is due. If you have any questions or would like to speak with us, please contact ****** ********* at *********************. Again, please accept our sincere apologies.
Sincerely,

1 starDO NOT use Unified Caring Association or anything described as a ********** Plan. The sales pitch is great. Low cost, zero deductible, They take the money fast and then hope you dont use the insurance???? for anything within the 30 days you have to review your coverage. Their documents state UCA Membership is not Major Medical or Comprehensive Health Coverage. It is intended to help supplement ******************************* It is neither Minimum Essentials Coverage under the *********************** Act nor is it Workers Compensation Insurance. The sales person knew I did not have any healthcare so why did he sell me something that is supposed to help supplement. Very very confusing once you try to use any service. Confusion Example All of these names are on the **************** Card you receive ****************************************************************************** Zurich ******************************************* *** Discount Medical Networks Patriot Health ******** ***. The only good thing about this was being able to have a no charge phone call with a telehealth doctor who would then prescribe medication.Review fromMercedes T

1 starThey won't let me cancel my husband's coverage, stating that it was a Hippa violation. Funny, I was able to sign all documents, and use his card for payment if you're ACA. I sent an email, stating that I wanted to cancel , and a full refund credited back to my husband's account.Unified Caring Association

Dear ****************,
Unified Caring Association (UCA) has received your BBB review. We thank you for giving us the feedback on what transpired. UCA values our members and takes every complaint very seriously.
It is our understanding that you are upset that you are not able to cancel the plan for your spouse. We understand that you are frustrated with our cancellation process, however it is our policy that only the primary member can cancel the plan. This is a safety feature that is in place to protect our members from any fraud or wrongdoings.
We had a representative reach out to the primary account holder to assist with the cancellation. Unfortunately, we have been unable to contact the primary member or leave a voice mail because the mailbox is full. We then sent an email with instructions on how they can email support to request the cancellation. Once the email is received, we will process the cancellation.
UCA hopes that you understand that we take the safety of our members seriously and apologize that you had a challenging experience.
If you have any questions or would like to speak with us,please contact ******************************* at **********************. Again, please accept our sincere apologies.
Sincerely,

1 starI called the open enrollment for the *** phone number and I was sold a bill of goods. Now I'm paying for everything out of pocket anyway after paying 500 bucks a month. I feel completely deceived balance care is a fraud. Leaving this note so that if anybody else reads it they don't fall for the same c*** They sold it as the Obamacare health care plan and it turns out to be some crappy discount plan.Unified Caring Association

Dear ********************,
Unified Caring Association (***) has received your BBB review.
We have examined your file, and it is recorded that you signed up on Oct. 05, 2023, outside of the open enrollment period. On this day you were sent an e-signature document that lists all the benefit information. We send this document so that our potential members are fully aware of the benefits prior to purchasing the plan. It is documented that you read and signed this document on Oct. 05, 2023.
The e-signature states that the Hospital Indemnity coverage is not a major medical plan and is not subject to the minimum standards required by the *************** Act.
Your file also shows that on Oct. 05, 2023, you signed into your online fulfillment portal and accepted the pop-up that states that any insured benefits included in the *** membership are NOT MAJOR MEDICAL or COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH COVERAGE and is neither Minimum Essential Coverage under the Federal *************** Act (ACA) nor is it workers ********************** under state law.
However, as a reassurance, we do provide our members with a 30-day look period. If for any reason they are not satisfied, the policy can be cancelled, and a full refund is issued.
On Feb 01, 2024, you reached out to the member services department and canceled your plan. Your membership had a paid through date of Feb 14,2024 and no further payments have been withdrawn.
Naturally we feel upset when anyone is not happy with their plan, but we feel that we are transparent with all plan details. If you have any questions or would like to speak with us, please contact ******************************* at **********************. Wishing you all the best.
Sincerely,

1 starAs with others here, I needed coverage through ACA and requested information. Somehow these people called me and like an idiot, I answered. While the man I spoke to was very nice, I actually thought I was speaking to healthcare.gov when clearly I was not. They're very convincing scammers. In a moment of vulnerability after being laid off from my job, I didn't realize what was going on and signed up for this total nonsense, charging me $140 without truly explaining what was going on when all I had asked for was ACA coverage, not this extra c*** Luckily I caught it within a day and am now working on getting it canceled. They've told me I'll get a refund which is great, but wow I am shocked at the audacity of these places.Unified Caring Association
