On 4/10 I transferred $3500 from my **** of America account via Zelle and $800 from my minor daughters **** of America account via Zelle to ********************** the owner ****** had made arrangements to rent us a home that he owns which is located on ****** in ******, **. The total amount given to this man and his company is $4600 which he did give me a receipt for. I also have bank records Upon entering the home, we noticed that the home was uninhabitable and **************** had scammed us out of $4600. He removed the plumbing hardware in the bathroom so there is no possible way to access water in there, the window in the kitchen (the front window facing the street) falls out the space anyone can come in through this widow, the electrical outlets were popping and making noise (the were not working) this seemed to be a fire hazard, under the kitchen sink had a massive amount of water damage that had mites and rotted wood, the home has no working HVAC, and the scariest part is the the home has black mold in the kitchen. I immediately contacted the owner and requested our money back once were realized he had scammed us. He then had his accountant send us a letter on 4/15 stating that we are responsible for making all repairs to the home (removal of the mold, hiring an electrician) I sent a response to the accountant on 4/15 and she never responded back. The sent an email to her on 4/16 and 4/17. She has refused to respond to me I contacted the own via phone call and he block both myself and husband. on 4/17 he sent a text message which I responded to. He is refusing to return our money that he scammed us out of and his accountant is demanding that we make repairs to a home we never lived in. We have not moved in the home, my husband is an elderly veteran born in 1956 that has COPD. in 2021 he punched his lung and now he does breathing treatments. This home can kill him. I have expressed my fears and concerns to the owner and he is non-responsive.
