47th Place sold us and installed new whole house flooring for our home for $31,000, and the flooring has been unsatisfactory. It makes popping noises in certain areas when walked on. We informed them of this problem, and after they visited our home, they offered a $5,000 rebate. When we made a counter offer, they wanted to have an independent floor inspection. The flooring inspector was paid for by the flooring manufacturer, and who said that there was nothing wrong with the floor. He suggested transition pieces be installed, per manufactures guidance. He also said that the transition pieces probably wouldnt do any good. 47th Place offered to install the transition pieces. The same transition pieces that their inspector said probably wont do any good, and will spoil the entire look of the floor. When we purchased the flooring, we werent told that transition pieces would be needed, or we wouldnt have purchased this flooring. When I had another flooring contractor come and examine the flooring, and hear the popping noises, he said that this was probably caused by the underlayment (pad) being improperly installed. That it was either installed with wrinkles, or wasnt allowed enough time to settle before the flooring was placed on top of it. Transition pieces would not remedy the problem.Since the floor inspector was here, the flooring not only continues to make noice, it has started to lift up at two different end pieces. We feel that 47th Place misrepresented how the flooring could be used and installed, and then proceeded to improperly install the flooring. We are requesting, as settlement, new flooring be installed, and installed properly. An alternative settlement is, any flooring pieces that are lifting up be repaired, that the trim above the dishwasher, that was never reinstalled properly, be repaired, and to receive a cash settlement /rebate for an installation that was not done properly.

Mr. ******** , complained about hearing a "popping noise" from his flooring.

We did offer ****** five thousand as a gesture of good will.

Mr. ******** declined and asked for more money.

We hired an independent inspector. His conclusion was that he never heard any noise from the flooring. He did suggest a transition in the hallway as "maybe a helpful, remedy". Mr. ******** declined this as well.

I can send the copy of the report to you. Mr. ******* has a copy as well.

Mr. ******* wrote in his email before it was inspected, that his intent was to go on any platform available to him to complain about our business if I did not return all of his money and keep his floor or replace all the flooring along with extra work intelled. I can supply this email as well.

We take every customers complaints very serious. We have been in business over fifty years and have had very little complaint. With the advent of social media, etc, I have found costumers to be much more punitive and unwilling to have a conversation on resolutions.

At this point per the inspectors report, we have followed all the guidelines.

As usual, the company continues to stonewall any type of settlement.  The inspector was hardly independent, since he was hired by the flooring manufacturer..  I wonder how many inspections he would get if he ever found the flooring manufacturer or the installing company at fault.  While the flooring inspector and the companies representative, ****** didnt hear the floor noises, your rep ***** did hear the noises upon an earlier inspection and made a recording of those noises   Thats why a settlement of $5,000 was offered.  The company knew it was a faulty installation.  Both the inspector and your **** ****** said it wasnt unusual for the flooring to make noises and then not make noises at times.  Its not like beating a drum.

Im asking one last time to for a fair settlement.

The transaction took place on 3/15 2023. I purchased an Everguard stain warranty for our new carpet in the amount of ******. I was supposed to get a stain kit and paperwork for the warranty. I was told it would take 6 weeks to recieve anything. It has now been three months and have heard nothing. I called the carpet company twice and was told the person in charge would call me. they never did. I need either the warranty pack or my money back.

      Good Afternoon,

I am sorry for the delayed response I have been out of the office. I have reached out to our warranty company and I am awaiting a response from them. I will notify you just as soon as I hear something should be in the next day or so. Again I am not sure why the stain kit was not mailed out to the customer. Our sincere appologies.
