The school prioritizes ******* students through the program over teaching. I was enrolled in a hybrid online lecture and in person lab program. Each class had an hour of lecture time, with only 20 minutes dedicated to cover roughly 2 chapters of material each week. The next 20 minutes would be answering questions students were unclear about and then the last 20 minutes was playing a trivia game. The excuse from school staff for the minimal lecture was that students are expected to do a majority of studying at home. With 4 to 5 classes at a time, each giving 2 chapters of material to read every week, it is impossible to keep up and understand the material. In person lab was the same, there was so too little time spent on demonstrating and practicing a wide variety of skills with the pressure of mastering each skill to be tested the very next day. There were tons of video resources students were expected to watch to prepare for lab but only a few of the videos were applicable to class, complicating the learning process. The labs were unorganized disasters, with not enough in person instruction, students were left confused and expected to practice with other confused classmates. Even the instructors were on different pages of how things should be done and focus in lab was how to make each instructor happy opposed to learning things properly. As time was a limiting factor, the instructors went from emphasizing the importance of practicing everything in lab to bypassing certain aspects of a procedure to save time. The school talks about how important it is to nurture proper learning and habitual practices for the workplace; yet theyre too focused on enrolling as many students as possible, as frequently as possible so theres a major imbalance of students to teachers for actual learning. Many students have to constantly resort to cheating to pass class. With the excessive cost of the program, I really expected more out of the school.
