I moved in August 1st 2024. The individual that gave me the tour started and ended the tour through giving me an offensive gesture. When I entered the office to report the harassment and theft in person; I noted that discrimination was illegal and was responded with facial expression that were proving my suspicions correct. I was forced to move out because of the harassment and discrimination from Tripalink employees and the other tenants. All of which, during my residence here, shared a common makeup/thing. These individuals were harassing me over my sexual orientation, race, gender, gender expression, and identity. Not to mention the theft of a delivery and the mail box issue.Initial Complaint

Business Name: Tripalink Property Management (Coda Apartments, ***********)May 28, 2025 Email Addresses for Tripalink: (1) ****************************************** (2) ************************************** COMPLAINT: I am submitting this complaint regarding an unfair and potentially deceptive business practice by my landlord/or property management company, specifically relating to the early termination of a residential lease agreement.I notified my landlord of my intent to terminate the lease early, fully aware that the contract states I will forfeit my $1,000 security deposit in doing so. However, the landlord has since informed me that I am also responsible for finding a subtenant to take over my lease. I have carefully reviewed the lease agreement multiple times, and there is no clause requiring a tenant to sublease the apartment upon early termination. The only consequence stated in the contract for early termination is the loss of the security deposit.I requested clarification and asked the landlord to point to the specific contractual language that supports their demand. Despite my following-up, they have failed to respond for over six days. This practice is not only unsupported by the contract, but if such a requirement were somehow implied or hidden, it would be fundamentally predatoryplacing an unfair burden on tenants, who generally have less bargaining power. Such a policy, when not transparently included in the lease, is deceptive, coercive, and contrary to basic principles of contract fairness, contract law, and consumer protection.I respectfully request the following:(1) Written confirmation from Tripalink that I am not contractually obligated to sublease the apartment.(2) Assurance that all my obligations with Tripalink will officially end on my desired move-out date of June 30th. (3) A formal review by the BBB of this businesss leasing practices for potential unethical or deceptive behavior.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Initial Complaint

I live with 3 other college students at the ***************** complex and we have had several problems with this complex - My roommate had a bullet shatter her window and it took several weeks to get repaired. No one from the complex ever reached out and no steps have been taken to ensure resident safety.- During winter we had no heat for over a month. We constantly submitted maintenance requests and reached out to the office and it still took weeks to get somewhat repaired. During this time our bill skyrocketed and we were informed that the complex would compensate us for the bill increase, but this never happened even though I reached out to management several times.- There is mold in every single room and the roof on my side of the unit had a hole in it that would cause leaking down my walls (which will not be getting repaired) and Im sure that thre is mold developing behind the wet walls.- We currently have not had ac in over a month and they have refused to give us fans. They are also not communicating properly about when we can expect the ac to be repaired. We are trying to get back at least the rent for the 1 month we were without heat and the month we've been without ac.Initial Complaint

I am filing a formal complaint against Tripalink Property Management due to their unreasonable and misleading lease termination practices. I signed a lease in 2024 with a monthly rent of $1,513, clearly stated in the contract. However, upon notifying Tripalink of my mandatory departure from the **** due to B2 **** expiration, they demanded a "termination fee" equal to two months' rent a fee nowhere mentioned in the lease I signed.Despite my repeated good-faith efforts including offering to forfeit my full $1,000 security deposit and paying May rent ($1,650) Tripalink refused to negotiate. I informed them well in advance, submitted official immigration documentation (USCIS I-797A), and offered to make the unit available for showings. Still, they imposed an immediate payment deadline with late fees, while never explaining how my deposit would be handled. This behavior appears retaliatory and coercive, especially since I submitted official complaints to **** and the ************************************************** (SDCI). Tripalinks actions reflect poor business ethics, lack of transparency, and pressure tactics that exploit international tenants who are unable to remain in the country.I request BBB to record this complaint as unresolved and urge Tripalink to revise their policies and engage with tenants respectfully and lawfully.Initial Complaint

Two examples are outlined below and pictures and documentation are attached:- In December my roommates and my apartment were all broken into. We filed a police report, contacted Tripalink (Landlord) in writing, and each of us had to file claims with our rental insurance companies. They took over 7 days to replace our doors with working locks. o The main gate that is supposed to be closed throughout the day remains open. Attached are pictures from a few days ago at 10:25 p.m. showing the gate open. Also Im attaching copies of my written maintenance requests to fix these gates. (attachments 1,2,3 and 4)o Also attached is an email correspondence with your representative **** ***** regarding my safety concerns. (attachment 5)- Regarding the maintenance requests - Ive requested our dishwasher to be fixed in writing, which to this date has not been replaced. Pictures of those requests are attached. (attachments 6 and 7)My requests have been in writing, and Ive given Tripalink (Landlord) a reasonable time and opportunity to service or repair item(s) per our lease agreement. Again, these issues remain unresolved and are a breach of contract.***** ** with Tripalink called today and said that the safety issue "is what it is" and that he would turn us into the credit report and keep our $1080 deposit. He said if we were worried about safety that we should call the police each day. ***** said he is the only person that handles all of Tripalink's Tucson properties. He called from ************ He was very dismissive and unwilling to discuss the safety matters. The dishwasher was finally replaced after 3+ months on 4/25/25.Initial Complaint

Move-In: September 9, 2024 Move-Out: October 5, 2024 Nature of Dispute:Unjustified Charges: I was billed for pre-existing damages and cleaning issues already documented in my move-in inspection dated September 1, 2024. Tripalink withheld part of my security deposit for these conditions despite living there for less than a month.Incorrect Rent Charges:I was charged $1,173 for September prorated rent, when it should have been $933.20 as per lease terms. Despite vacating on October 5, I was billed for a full month of October rent and invalid charges for November.Lack of Transparency: Tripalink failed to provide a detailed breakdown or supporting documentation for charges after multiple requests. Their vague and dismissive responses violate Washington State landlord-tenant laws (RCW 59.18).What the Business Committed:Accurate rent calculations and fair handling of my security deposit.Resolution Sought:Refund of improper charges (security deposit deductions, incorrect rent for September and October).Detailed documentation of all charges.Formal apology for mishandling my ***************************** conduct has caused unnecessary stress, financial burden, and violates tenant rights.Initial Complaint

I was a tenant at a Tripalink property (Post *******) until the expiration of my lease on 03-Nov-2024. On 01-Nov-2024 my saved credit card information was charged a full month's rent for 01-Nov through 01-Dec despite not having a lease for that timeframe. Upon vacating my unit on 03-Nov-2024, I discussed this charge with the building staff, paid an additional prorated fee for the 01-Nov through 03-Nov dates remaining on my lease, and was told that the full month rent charge would be returned to me (minus an apartment cleaning fee). There was no contact from the property or Tripalink sent to me. I followed up with Tripalink directly via phone on 25-Nov, 02-Dec, and 10-Dec and was told each time that they were sorry and would follow up with the building management directly and I should expect to hear additional information. As of this writing on 10-Dec-2024 there has still been no contact or additional information to return the owed rent money.Initial Complaint

I currently was blindsided and fired from my job on November 1. I was the leasing agent for the company and also one of two Americans. The whole company is filled with Chinese people and ran by a Chinese man and is a **************** My original boss was a woman who got Real from her position and got replaced with a Chinese man who never introduced himself to this day, the week the new boss came I noticed that all of my leads and allocation have completely stopped. I went from talking to at least 50 people a day to talking to about 15 at most. They purposely sabotaged my percentage rate making my score. Go down and look as if I am not sending out leases, Reaching out to tenants, Or scheduling tours . I asked numerous of times to have leads allocated to me from other leasing agents that have more traffic than I do and the supervisor would say she would never did now I have officially lost my job due to my lack of performance, even though I cant do anything, but wait for them to give me the leads but Im writing this to my other coworker who is also an American who signed a lease with the actual company has now said that they have brought in two more Chinese men to replace me and her and the whole company will be Chinese after us there is no Spanish speakers at that job and it is very unprofessional, they exercise illegal practices such as blockbusting, and red lining. This Company needs to be under investigation immediately they do not allow you to show or advertise certain apartment buildings or duplex complexes because it would not be considered a V Living property Meaning TRIPALINK itself would get a percentage of the rent collected at the property vs its being a U living which is an independent owner that owns apartment complex near ***. Not only was I fired on the spot with somebody that Ive never met through a computer, but I was not shown any documents or have to sign anything on my way out legally I believe I still work for the company . Please help!
