    I had my ***************** service done at UMI *************** on August 26th, 2022. They required me to pay $20 co-payment even though there was no co-payment required for this service.

    On August 29th, 2022 I called and checked with my insurance ************** about the co-payment. My insurance confirmed that I had $0 co-payment for the ultrasound service, and the representative did 3-way called with UMI ***************. UMI *************** admitted that they wrongfully collected my co-payment and would refund it to me. It never happened.

    On October 28th, I came to UMI**************** and talked to ***************, the senior assistant manager. She apologized and explained why they wrongfully asked me for the co-payment. She asked me to call the corporate office to follow up after she emailed the details of my complaint to the billing department.

    On October 31st, I talked to the billing department at the corporate office, they confirmed all of my claims were correct and valid. However, they refused to pay back my co-payment until my insurance pays out their claims. They appear to hold my co-payment hostage even though it should be $0 to begin with.

    On November 15th, I talked with *************** (senior assistant manager at UMI****************) again and she continued to point finger at the corporate office.

    I want to report this wrongdoing of United Medical Imaging Health.

    Hello,

    We issued the refund payment of $20 on 11/29/2022.
    The payment was mailed out to the patient and the check was cleared on 12/02/2022. We will reach out to the patient as well.
