Had contract with JFB Construction for kitchen remodel and painting interior of the home. Kitchen remodel started on 5/21/25 and painting started on 5/26/25. Progress payments have been made, and contractor requested final payment for projects that are not complete. Contractor projected both projects to be completed on 6/1/25, but neither project has been completed to date. Subcontractor for ********** came to my home demanding payment for work, as contractor has not paid subcontractor and contractor told subcontractor that i refused to pay. Contractor has stopped working on the home since 6/11/25 and has not continued to work. Contractor intentionally delay the work and threatened to put lien on my home. Contractor said we are still under contract, but is not working.

What multiple payments have I missed? Please show evidence of any missed payments. I have all the receipts of payments made in accordance to the contract. The last payments have not been given because the business has not finished the job, as those payments are not to be made until the job is complete. I have not received the cabinets that I have paid for. Additionally, a subcontractor that contractor hired came to my home and removed the counter top that I have already paid for because the subcontractor said the business has not paid them for the job they completed.

On multiple occasions customer was late by days or even a week because other people came first which was not my responsibility. Customer on sever al occasions added in extra stuff that I went out of my way to do and finished. Painting was finished and payment was never given to me.. customer on several occasion changes things and he agrees to size of cabinets which I have records of them when they were up decided they were not big enough. Thats not on me he agreed then got mad and wanted a change. Also another cabinet thats nit the right size above the fridge he agreed on then when installed thought was to small but he agreed to the plans drawn up o have all the texts. The subcontractor got his down payment but once cutosmer refused to give me any more money even after work was done the subcontractor didnt get paid I dont come out of pocket thats why there is an schedule. Also this customer illegals shared information with a subcontractor but the terms in the contract that not only falls for immediate termination of contract under Cslb law but also a law suit and A contractors lien on the house I

Please show evidence that payments have been missed for weeks. Payment has been provided when contractor requested and job was completed to customers satisfaction. Since when do customer pay subcontractor hired by the contractor. Contractor did not even show up to deal with subcontractor when subcontractor showed up to my house and took the countertop that I had already paid the contractor for. Yes, the contractor had a drawing of the cabinets that I agreed to the width, but the drawing did not show the height of the cabinets, which I would have not agreed to if less then 36 in height. Tried to work out with contractor and contractor said it will take 4 days to finish job, but again contractor failed to do what he says.
