On 11/25/2022 I purchased 4 Garda dining room chairs from Italy 2000 for $1,900 from Ray at Italy 2000 located at ****************************************************************. On this day, *** packed my car with 2 chairs that were on the floor and promised that they were brand new chairs that were just out of the box. The remaining chairs were in his storage facility and ask that I returned in a few weeks when he would have them.On 12/16/2022 I purchased a coffee table from Ray for $1,495.00 and also picked up the remaining dining room chairs. On 12/17/2022 I called *** and informed him that both the coffee table and dining chairs were damaged with scratches and dents. *** did not return several of my calls. Finally, on 12/19/2022, he provided me with his email address ************************************ and asked that I emailed pictures of the damages. I sent the same email again on 12/20/2022 because he claimed he had not received the previous email. I followed up again with *** on 12/21/2022, he did not return my call, and was able to speak with him on 12/23/2022. He agreed to exchange the furniture after the holidays. I called *** several times again and he did not return my calls. On 1/19/2023 I called again, and *** said "he would not accept any of the furniture nor exchange them because I had signed that I received the furniture in good condition. Also, because the furniture was not delivered by his company, he could not guarantee that the furniture would be free of damages. He also told me that I had personally scratched and dented the furniture." I explained that I had not signed any documents saying that I'd received the furniture in good condition, nor did I damage the furniture. I begged him to replace the furniture and he said "No, I will not." I asked how we could resolve this, and he said, "go ahead and take me to court if you want to, but I will not exchange the furniture."Business response

The customer purchased 5 dining chairs from us at the beginning and wanted to ship them out of state they picked up 2 chairs at the time of purchase then 4 weeks later they came back picked up the other 3 chairs and purchased a coffee table at the same time and we offered them if you are willing to pay $75 we can have it delivered to you right away, but she refused we told them if you have it picked up if there is any kind of damages on it WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE and they agreed
couple of days later they came with a very small pick up truck and had the merchandise inspected and received in GOOD CONDITION
2 days later she is calling me saying the coffee table and one chair has a small scratches on them i told i am sorry i can not do anything about it because it was inspected by you guys and it was in a great condition when it was picked up.
i told them maybe when you we were unloading the furniture it got damaged there is no way the scratches were there when they picked it up
i offered her if she brings it back the next day i am willing to change it for them BUT if there is any other damaged occurers on the coffee table when they bring it to the store i will not change it because i know they would get more damages on it.
they call me back 5 weeks later asking for a refund or change which i told them i am sorry no changes or refund will made to them

I am rejecting this response because: ***'s response is a blatant untruth. When we purchased the 5 dining room chairs on 11/25/2022, there were only two chairs in the store and *** loaded these in my car informing me they were brand new chairs free of damage. The remaining 3 chairs as *** had explained were at his storage facility and it would take a few days to have shipped at the store for pick up. When the chairs arrived, *** called and informed us the chairs would be kept in a safe area until we were able to pick them up with the coffee table we had purchased.
We picked up the coffee table as well as the 3 chairs on 12/16/2022. Two of the chairs were in a box and the coffee table was also in a box. The third chair was unboxed. We did not sign any documents indicating we'd received the furniture in good condition. The boxes that the furniture were in had been closed when ***'s workers helped load the furniture boxes in our work van. There was no issue with the furniture not fitting in our van.*** sold us damaged furniture that were in sealed boxes and we did not realize the damages until we came home and opened the boxes. We promptly informed *** the next day on 12/17/2022 of the damages but he did return several of our calls until finally, on 12/23/2022 when he agreed to exchange the furniture after the holidays.
When we attempted to return the furniture after the **************************** Holiday *** would not accept any of the furniture nor exchange them because he claimed I had signed that ** received the furniture in good condition. I never signed any documents indicating that I'd received the furniture in good condition.
*** and his company have engaged in Unfair and Deceptive Business Practices by tricking us into buying furniture by false, deceptive, or unfair trade practices. Therefore, we kindly ask that the Better Business Bureau 1) continue with assisting in mediating this matter so that the company either exchanges the damaged furniture or issue a refund, 2)keep a record of our grievance on the BBB website so other consumers will know of this companys bad acts before they can trust engaging with this furniture store,and 3) help with any remedy deemed necessary.

I bought furniture from this store Sunday, April 11, 2021. My total was $*****. I paid ***** and the owner *** said I can make payments on the rest. However, On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, I called and spoke to *** and expressed my buyer's remorse. I am a single mom that thought I needed fancy furniture to fill the void of my grandmother's passing. She left us a SMALL inheritance in her memory. I expressed to him that I am a humbled individual that made an impulsive decision out of greif. Because we are a single-parent household, child care is a big weight on us. ***, the ill-mannered man said he would call the "owners" and call me back. I never received a callback. After one week of no response, I called *** and he said, very discourteous and impolitely "sorry there is nothing I do". With a heavy heart, I hung up that call and made another regretful payment of $700. I didn't want to lose my money. I just want my refund. The furniture was never delivere. I have buyers remors.Business response

That's a lie. Both are lies. He never said it was a special order. He just took my money the process was so quick. I was never offered a discount. I even asked if I can have credit for what I had paid. These people do not deserve me business after the way Ray has treated me. I just want my refund. Big mistake shopping here !
