In 2024, I hired Guardian Tax to resolve my past tax problems with the **** I described my issues and was told my issues could be worked out to my satisfaction. I was given a price of $3,500 for Guardian Tax to represent me in this matter. Although I paid all fees in full in 90 days, today this problem is not resolved and I am constantly receiving letters from the *** threatening to garnish my wages or place a lien on my home. Guardian Tax continues to tell me that they are working with the **** however when I log into my *** account, I don't see any documentation that shows Guardian Tax power of attorney or any sent or received documents that even confirm Guardian Tax is in talks with the *** on my behalf. I would like this matter resolved with the *** or I want a refund of $3,500 minus $1,000 for the cost of three years of tax filing for a total refund of $2,500. Upon review of your file, I see that your resolution is pending approval by the IRS. I can also see that on July 2, 2025 your case manager contacted you and provided an update to you on this. ************** times have slowed recently due to federal employee layoffs and actions by DOGE. This means it is taking a bit longer for an IRS Manager to complete final approval on your Fresh Start Program Enrollment, but we do anticipate this happening soon. I have requested for Guardian Tax to stop contacting me by text/ and verbally on multiple occasions being we have chosen to not receive their services. I have advised them of the I still receive 5 calls a day and 2 emails. Will now like to exercise the right to be be financially compensated for emotional distress due to the harassment I am receiving.Business Response

Continuous calls and text messages even after speaking with a representative requesting no further call or messages. I have sent the word stop to every text. They continually call from different numbers and texts from different numbers. I also put myself in the do not call registry after the annoying calls multiple times a day.Business Response

I hired Guardian Tax in 2024 to negotiate my taxes. They wanted a lumps sum of money and monthly payments. After 4 months I saw no change or response from the *** showing Guardian Tax did anything. I cancelled my services and Guardian Tax kept $4000 for doing nothing but putting my name on forms yet never did a thing as far as negotiations. **************** is our highest priority, we never like to hear that a client is unhappy. Our team promptly reached out to this by phone and text message in an attempt to address his concerns. Unfortunately, the client has not responded. I must take a moment to point out several inaccuracies to the complaint. First, the claim that no work has been done is entirely false; we have prepared and the client has signed 3 years of tax returns on his behalf. Since signing up for services I can show at least 20 phone calls between our customer service department and this client. Lastly, the client disputed all payments made to us with his bank; despite having filed 3 years of tax returns for him we have not been paid for those services. Per *** rules all tax returns must be filed before resolution services can be executed - we would encourage the client to make contact with us so we can discuss completing his case work.Customer Answer

We appreciate you reaching out but you must understand that our tax professionals are bound to following the rules stipulated by the ***, additionally, ever case is unique and requires different steps to resolve. The first rule being a requirement for a taxpayer to be fully compliant with their tax filing before any negotiations / enrollment into an IRS program can be allowed to occur. This is why we first begin with filing all unfiled tax years. Those returns are prepared and filed. We must then wait for the *** to process all of the tax returns before we can begin with negotiations. In terms of fees, our fees are based on the amount of work required to complete the case work. Clients with large tax liabilities, like yourself ($180,000) require significantly more time from our Tax Professionals to properly representing your case.Customer Answer

I paid guardian 499 to start my irs tax problem then I owed them 3000 more in payments . They said they stopped all irs judgments and revocation of property but *** just started taking my retirement check because guardian lied and said they stopped all this and have done nothing. *** said guardian hasn't been in contact with them.Business Response

I have been paying them for the past few years, I was in communication with my "managers" and they keep transferring me to different people. We were in the process of filing an office in compromise, then they transferred me back to tax preparation, now I have gotten a lien put again my house due to them wasting time and not contacting me unless I contact them. In April of 2025 Guardian tax would call and harass daily to hire them to fix my tax issue which I kept not hiring them but the calls never stopped. I then caved in went on a payment plan was told retaining fee was 500 turned out to be ****** asked for my money back the lady said oh want to make payment I said no I already overpaid I want a refund . She kept saying you want to pay a payment I said no she said she would get a manager to contact me never happened been 2 days. Since hiring this scam company obviously I cannot reach anyone at Guardian except billing she answers quickly even called to remind me of my next payment is due even though I already made all my payments and extra. This company takes clients money and dont get back to them on anything. I literally talked to the *** and was told if I sent a lease proving head of household I would only owe interest which I refuse to pay Guardian was retained by power of attorney April 4th and fee kept adding up there is no way. All said and done my dad retained a attorney who showed me this site. If there not going to do there job they said they could do which was said I wouldn't have to pay ntn to the irs cause I shouldn't owe it sounds like a error. The *** ****** has yet to contact me even after all my text I got a answer he said I called and got voicemail I got no voicemail from him or anyone. So I closed my bank accounts and started a fresh account so they can't keep billing me over and over. They take money and then overcharge as soon as payments are done it goes from constant badgering about payment which I was never late on but once it was paid totally ignored. I contacted them because they are local to my area, and I felt like they were a trustworthy company. I was wrong. This company has been calling me from three organizations and engaging in shady advertising practices. I have spoken with the **************** and Guardian Tax, and I received a voicemail from another company left by a woman named ******** and another named ******. They all claimed to be from different companies, and when I called back the numbers, they answered each one differently, but somehow knew my name since I had spoken to each "company."I am given a different phone number from a different area code to call each time. They are not a trustworthy business, and I would like them to stop using different company names to scam people out of money.Business Response

On the phone call with the representative my wife and i specifically asked. is this a ONE time fee? to which he responded YES. then after the money was charged and we spoke again a few days later they let us know that there would be another charge of $3,500. we recorded the conversation which i have and can provide. they claim that at the end of the conversation theres some disclaimer that states this but this part of their scam. when asked the question outright they should not be able to lie they should be honest and disclose more charges will follow. we wouldnt have moved forward with them if they were honest. they are taking advantage of people who are already in financial distressBusiness Response

I started with Guardian Tax in July of 2024. At that time I advised Guardian that I was already paying them each and every month and wanted to get it either reduced or a fair amount to dissolve. I w as advised that they are guaranteed to help me. I had to keep calling to find out the status then after months I was then told someone else was going to take over my case and they were still waiting to hear from the *** by that time they knew that it was too late to stop the process. I then did not hear from them again til about 3 mos ago and at that time was told that I would need to have more taken out of my check for taxes. I spoke with ********* and asked ok but for how long? She advised just a couple of months. Then she came back a month later and said oh sorry it would be for as long as I'm working. So now I'm not getting the right info to take care of my file. I asked to have a manager call me back several times and still no call back. I finally got a hold of a manager to which they have no record of that call and she was supposed to call me back after researching again no one called me back after a month. I would like to have my money back because they never did what they said they were going to do and it is supposed to be money back guaranteed.
