      I was contacted by SLFA to help me get my student loans on a payable program for a fee of $77 a month, I agreed, however last month my employer help me file for forgiveness because Im a civil servant employee so I no longer needed the service, they wont answer the phone or return my calls, the money just keeps coming out of my account and I need it to stop!

Our intention with this response is to aid in bringing this complaint to a reasonable resolution for all parties. We strive to deliver a professional service for all our clients. A representative of our company spoke to ********** on 10/17/2022 which is the same day that she posted her complaint on the BBB site. Were not sure if she posted the complaint before or after she spoke with us, but to our knowledge everything was resolved during our phone conversation. In fact, we canceled the agreement for our services on 10/17/2022 and sent ********** an email confirming the cancellation. We are sorry that ********** decided to cancel our services but are also glad that the ************** Loan forgiveness application was finally sent to the ********** of ********* for review. We had been requesting this form from ********** for more than a year. We gave ********** instructions via email with the subject line What to expect next after cancelling and hope that she continues to monitor her student loans to fully receive the forgiveness she is entitled to. Lastly, we want to thank ********** for giving us the opportunity to service her federal student loans. We are always available for her if any additional help is needed.

      In regards to **** (Student Loan Financial Assistance) out of *********, **; do not fall for this company like I did. I was told that they take care of all the paperwork and help navigate the student loan repayment process as I was also qualified for the **** option. I paid them $80/month for 3 years to do everything I could do for free. It is shameful and embarrassing to realize I fell for it that long. I had my doubts through the years; when I called them for reassurance, they always knew what to say and told me I was on the 'right track' and that everything was great. The website was questionable, my portal was never updated and it was always challenging to communicate with them. When my loans got transferred to Mohela and I had questions about my **** (just 2 weeks ago), the woman who assisted me was lovely. She informed me that these loan forgiveness companies are mostly fraudulent and what they promise you is everything you can do for free. When I called SLFA to cancel my program, they didn't really 'fight' for my business and they still tried to take the monthly fee out of my account days after I canceled. In total, I spent $2,640 on a program that did little to nothing for me and for what I could do on my own easily for free. Do Not Fall for this program!!

SLFA is a third-party company that provides assistance to those who need it. This company is in no way affiliated with the ********** of ********** nor do any of our agents claim to be. Our services are private and intended to assist the client through a process that many consumers either dont understand or have the time to complete on their own. We **** through all the paperwork and always work in the best interest of our clients who--in many cases--are stuck with their lender not offering legitimate help. ****************** signed an agreement with SLFA for our services to assist her enrollment into her current program (PLSF). As a result, we were successful in helping ****************** reduce her monthly student loan payment. The benefit of the Income-Driven-Repayment program with PSLF is that it will ultimately lead to her loans being forgiven entirely after enough qualifying payments are made towards her loans--regardless of the remaining balance at that time. We will reach out to ****************** to re-explain what we have done for her and if she chooses not to continue will come to a reasonable resolution. No further payments will be drafted from the account. If ****************** would like to further discuss her account she can contact us at anytime **************

      I have never been more irate and disgusted with a company as I am today. I just recently got off the phone with my loan servicer just to find out that the payments Ive been making monthly have not been not towards my loans at all. In the case that the monthly payments were for servicing..what exactly were they servicing? If I dont receive a refund of all my payments in the next 7 days, Im going to the Attorney General as well as suing. This is fraud and scamming. I want my money back.

Verbal and written agreement acknowledging where Ms. ******* payments were being allocated to are on file. As a result of our trusted services and as promised, we were successful in helping **************** reduce her monthly student loan payment and recertified her to keep the lower payments. The benefit of the Income-Driven-Repayment program is that it will ultimately lead to her loans being forgiven entirely after enough qualifying payments are made towards her loans--regardless of the remaining balance at that time. We spoke to **************** on 9/01/2022 and both parties agreed to cancel the account. Thus, no further payments will be drafted from the account.       The time in which the payments were being submitted was during the time of loan pause with that being said my repayment was not needed the payment due was at zero dollars. So with that being said I would like a refund as the services werent needed.
