Agent was clearly was uncomfortable when I asked questions. She repeatedly talked over me as my husband listened in. I am upset that they now have my personal information and I am considering reporting this as an identity theft as my husband is in law enforcement. I feel I was mislead by the agent and was hung up on as well. This raises immediate concerns. I look foward to seeing a resolution.Business Response

Americor pretended to be a company called Liberty 1st Lending under the disguise of a loan company. It came up under that name on my phone and the letter offer. It made the promise that they were providing a loan and the paperwork said the same thing. It was under these pretense that they asked to check my credit report. When they called me back it was listed on my phone as Americor and not Liberty 1st Lending which is a debt consolidation company which want you to put money into an account and pay them out of it. This offer was under false pretense and was not what was sent to me in the mail. This is deceptive and when I told the guy that the letter never mentioned their company in the offer letter, and that I did not give Americor authorization to run my credit. He started getting rude and telling me that he was trying to help me and the name of their company was Americor. This is also false advertisement, and their company needs to be fined for doing this . This is a bait and switch tactic and the phone numbers are different which is how they are tricking people. Also the credit report he pulled is not the same credit report listed on my file with Experian which I pay a fee to make sure my accounts with the credit bureau has the correct score for Experian.Business Response

Americor Funding, LLC (Americor) has received Ms. ******* BBB complaint ******* and appreciates the opportunity to respond.
Americor is a debt relief provider that often partners with lenders or loan brokers, like ************* Lending, to refer its services to potential customers who are trying to resolve their unsecured debt but do not currently qualify for a debt consolidation loan.
Upon information and belief, Ms. ****** contacted ******* in response to an advertisement for a potential consolidation loan. During that call, the agent conducted an in-depth financial profile and budget analysis to assess ******* eligibility for a personal loan. Based on the detailed financial information ****** provided, she did not qualify for a personal loan. Because a consolidation loan could not be extended, the agent informed the customer of the option to enroll in *********************** debt settlement program.
We regret any misunderstanding and that we were unable to provide Ms. ****** with an option she was interested in; however, this situation does not constitute a bait and switch. ************* has any further questions or concerns, both Liberty and Americor stand ready to assist.

Americor Funding, LLC (Americor) has received BBB Complaint 23128987. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
By way of background, on February 22, 2024 the customer executed a Debt Resolution Agreement with Americor to allow Americor to negotiate and settle his debts. The customer agreed to make monthly deposits of $1,631.05 into a dedicated third-party savings account to accumulate funds to be used to negotiate and settle his 9 enrolled debts totaling $100,572.00 and to pay Americors fees. The estimated program length was to be 50 months.
Before the program was cancelled March *******, only three monthly deposits of $1,600.90 were received between March and May, 2024, one debt was removed, and one debt (One Main Financial Group) was settled. The enrolled amount for One Main was $11,021.00 and the fee for negotiation and settlement of this debt was $2,975.67 ($11,021.00 x 27%). This debt was settled on April 23, 2024 for $7,717,00 over twelve payments of $643.08 (with an additional $0.04 added to the last payment). The customer accepted those terms via email. The first payment was issued on the settlement on April 29, 2024, which is also when Americors fee was fully earned despite collection over time. As outlined in the statement included in his complaint, settlement payments to One Main and service fee payments to Americor were issued between April 29, 2004 through August 30, 2024. No subsequent settlement payments were made, or fees collected by Americor thereafter because insufficient funds remained in the customers dedicated account.
Upon cancellation of the program, the funds remaining in the dedicated account ($138.15) were refunded to the customer.Accordingly, there were no incorrect charges and no additional refund is owed.

I contacted americor about a debt consolidation program they have. The first ******** service *** was great, the second seemed great until I started asking any questions about the service. I was confused about the service, because I dont work in debt consolidation or trust. I beleived it was a debt consolidation loan, but instead it was the company calling my creditors to negotiate settlements and then use the amount I was paying into the trust to start ***aying the companies. I told her I'm looking for a loan. She said, and I quote "you have a blank credit score, there's no one anywhere that's giving you a loan" and I said "I don't think it's right for you to speak on behalf of other banks on wether or not they will decide to approve me" she said "I know they won't give you a loan, we submitted your application to 20 different major loan companies and they all said no" i then told her I was surprised at how angry she got that I was asking questions, and that her entire demeanor changed once I started asking. She was so rude and obnoxiously that I literally had to hang up on her. She then proceeds to call me multiple times, to which I had to block her. And then she emails me to which I requested no further contact. The issue is, she still kept emailing me after I requested no further contact. It wasn't until I threatened to fil harassment charges on her and her company that she decided to stop reaching out to me. Totally unacceptable, and I've attached screenshot of the email chain as well. This is literal harassment and this company should be embarrassed by how vile this employee is.Business Response

Americor Funding, LLC (Americor) has received BBB Complaint ******** from Mr. ***********, and we have reviewed the communications referred to in his complaint. While we understand and appreciate that Mr. *********** has his own point of view of how the end of the conversation occurred, we did not find that our agent acted inappropriately. She was trying to provide guidance to Mr. *********** in an effort to explain why the program was a good option for him. Nevertheless, we will be using this as a learning opportunity for all of our agents.
As to Mr.Chmielinskis request for no further contact, it is important to note that the email communications were only minutes apart and were not attempts to intentionally disregard the request. Pursuant to his request, we have placed him on our internal Do Not Communicate list and will not contact him by phone, text or email.

As I'm sure you have recordings of your phone calls with potential customers, I hope that you did not just respond without listening to the call. If you actually listened to the call, you would know that your representative flat out telling a potential customer that there is no other bank that would approve them is a blatant lie. If you are not an authorized representative for other financial institutions, then you have absolutely no business saying that other institutions will not approve a customer. That would be like someone applying for a loan at a car dealership, the dealership does not get the customer approved through their banks, and then telling the customer that because they didn't get them approved, there's not a single other bank that will either, so this is your only option. Its a blatant lie, it lacks a substantial foundation, and to be fair spreads misinformation too potential customers causing them to think that the ONLY option they have is to agree and sign up with your program. The fact that you think that wrong doing was my interpretation of the phone call is blasphemy, what your employee said, the way she acted, the attitude and condescending approach, all of it is a terrible way to conduct business and frankly its predatory for an unsuspecting customer who has zero prior knowledge of finance. Here's a VERIFIED review from a customer whom used or participated in your service. "I am in the middle of an Americor nightmare. All my assets are being seized. They never even let me know that they were not going to help anymore with this specific case. I received a letter in the mail saying there was a levy against me and the next thing I know, my bank account was wiped out" It even makes more sense as to why there are no ****** reviews, or anything of the sort. Its so your company can advertise a great reputation by only being allowed to read reviews that you guys pick and choose by posting on your website.

Americor Funding, LLC (Americor) acknowledges receipt of Ms. ****** follow-up communication.
After reviewing the communications outlined by Ms. ***** and conducting a detailed investigation,we determined that the agent correctly stated that the 2/18 deposit was already processing when Ms. ****** file was placed in Review for Completion status. However, the agent inadvertently provided the incorrect cut-off date of 2/14/2025. Americor refunded the deposit on March 3, 2025, as a result of this issue. Additionally,Americor is prepared to reimburse Ms. ***** for the returned check fees upon receipt of the relevant bank statement(s) or statement(s) showing the number of returned checks and the associated fees. We sincerely hope this response addresses Ms. ****** concerns.
We remain available to assist with any further inquiries and encourage Ms. ***** to contact us if additional information is needed.
We look forward to hearing from Ms. ***** so we can proceed with processing the appropriate reimbursement.
