On February 7th. 2025 I went in to purchase a vehicle from La City Cars in *************** a salesman by the name of ***** helped us. I was not able to take my vehicle home that day because it needed to be smogged. This was an inconvenience being that we had just purchased the vehicle and still had to commute with Lyft and **** as we waited. Finally, on February 15th. 2025 the vehicle was dropped off to my residence. I completed the customer interview in February and waited for my welcome email to set up my account. In that time I had added on the vehicle to our insurance. This brought us into the month of March, which we had started to have work done on the vehicle. Now March 31st 2025 I received a call from someone by the name of ******* with LA City Cars she said that there was an issue with financing and I had to return the vehicle and would be able to pick up my deposit. At this point I was very confused because I had been in contact with *********** and was still being told I would get my welcome email to set up our account. However I agreed to drop it off and would speak to the manager about this and now the additional money. LA City Cars did not have my refund that day. I went back and forth with a manager by the name of ******* in regards to not only our deposit, but the work that had been put into the vehicle, the insurance and overall inconvenience. Finally, on April 7th 2025 I agreed to pick up $1,068 from my original $1500 down payment. I expressed I would be reaching out to the BBB for help on resolving this. Since then, it has been brought to my attention that my credit and my cosigner's credits have been ran again on March 31st without our consent this is something else that I had expressed to ******* since they were already in the possession of the vehicle and we were not interested in trying to purchase another vehicle with them. Thank you,****** ****** **********Initial Complaint

I bought a car from LA CITY Dealership in *********, **. 4/27/25. I was approved for a loan I could not afford or qualify for. The dealership knew this at the time and proceeded to process the application. I was encouraged to sign documents in haste with reading them in their entirety. After carefully reviewing the contract I attempted to surrender the car three days later to no avail. They will not accept my phone calls or provide documentation concerning the car sale. I would like to give this car back as soon as possible.Initial Complaint

On January 4, 2025, I paid $5,500 as a down payment for a 2017 Prius, and on January 5, 2025, I paid an additional $500, totaling $6,000. I received the vehicle on the evening of January 5, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m. However, due to significant mechanical issues, I returned the vehicle on the morning of January 7, 2025, at approximately 10:00 ****** the time of return, I spoke with Manager *****, who assured me that I would receive a full refund of $6,000 within 24 hours after their technician completed a report. Despite this promise, I have yet to receive my refund.I have attempted to contact LA City Cars multiple times, but my calls and messages have gone unanswered. As a result, I am filing this complaint with the BBB to seek assistance in resolving this matter.Initial Complaint

I looked into a car that was sold at their new *************** location. I have photo evidence that this dealership is changing the mileage on these cars. Yesterday the mileage is 300+ miles, today the mileage is literally 67 miles. Brand new! Buyers beware ! This is illegal.Initial Complaint

On 03/15/25 I was at the dealership LA CITY CARS in ***************, to purchased a vehicle. I was going to return to finalized paper work on Monday and pay the rest of the money since it was going to be a cash transaction. The sales rep ******** (according to her) was told by her manager that we have to leave a deposit for them to hold the vehicle while we return with the cashiers check to close the deal. Now they wont answer my calls or text nor will return my calls to notify me about my refund since they broke the promise to hold the vehicle. I have been trying to reach them but no luck either they are on lunch or not at work. When I call and ask for the sales manager the receptionist claims she doesn't know the store manager since she is new. Just need my money back from this place ASAP. From previous complaints about the same fraudulent activity la city cars is scamming people, especially those who are purchasing Teslas. I purchased mine on 2/2/25 three weeks later I get a phone call stating that the bank is pulling back from the loan. And that I need to surrender the car back to the dealership. Im devastated. Everything is legit between myself and my co-signer so Im confused as to why the bank would rescind the loan. Fast forward to 3/2/25 they manipulate us and tell us to come in to sign another lease agreement. They have us wait for two hours and no one in the office seems to know whats going on. Finally a guy names **** come and takes the car. We ask about our down payment and they say their finance person is not in. We should received the refund back to the original creditor in ***** hours. **** also says he is going to email us documents and never did. Their site advertises a rebate on qualifying Teslas which mine qualified for. Turns out on the application they added a whole bunch of non existent special features to the car and do not document the rebate. Instead they put the rebate amount down as my down payment without including out additional down payment if $3k. They have now blocked my number and refuse to give us our money back. Their general manager ***** refuses to address us. Weve been trying to contact them for weeks. They cannot continue to scam hard working people like this. Please email me if this has also happened to you. ********************* We need to get the news stations to exposes these criminals. We all need to lawyer up. So much emotional and mental distress. I experienced everything mentioned in previous recent complains.Initial Complaint

I recently purchased a 2021 Tesla Model 3 from a dealership called LA City Cars on January 2, 2025. Upon applying for the vehicle, I was approved with my credit and my work income. I was also approved by their finance company ******************. I had a *** 3 Series in mind upon entering the dealership but once I returned on a later date (before January 2, 2025) the dealership employee insisted that I purchase the Tesla Model 3. A few weeks later I got a very rude call from one of the dealerships employees named ****, **** was lying/ telling me that I had to return my Tesla Model 3 because my job and bank did not approve my income; which is a lie. My job and **** had approved my income otherwise I would not have been able to purchase the vehicle. February 1, 2025 3:00am a tow truck came and tried to repossess my car (with me still inside the car) and the tow truck driver was very rude as well. I called the police and spoke with the dispatcher who confirmed that my car is registered to me and she informed the tow truck owner that he had to put down my vehicle. So the *** truck owner did as she said and put it down. The car dealership is trying torailroad me into giving them my car by cancelling my financing now I am unable to pay my car note with a balance of $478.00. Im not a lawyer but I sure as heck wish I was, what do you think I should do in this situation? I will not let this dealership punk me or disrespect me in any way. I need to type a certified letter stating everything that I know up until this point. What do I do?Initial Complaint
