My vehicle was stolen from my office in **********, ** around February 9th of 2023. While I had been out of the country for work I wasn't aware that it had been stolen and abandoned by the criminals in nearby *************** for several weeks.Flash forward to February 28th, I arrived back at my office to find my vehicle had been stolen. After filing police reports with both ********** PD and ******************, I learned that Best Towing was contracted by ****************** to tow my vehicle to their ************************* location for storage. I contacted Best Towing and quickly learned that I had to play $1566.00 if I wanted my stolen vehicle back. Jumped back on the phone with ********** PD and they said all fees would be waived for towing/storage (since I was a victim of a crime) in their jurisdiction, but weren't sure of the protocol in ***************/ ****************. ********** PD contacted me by the afternoon and said they attempted to have a conversation with the "blond-hair female owner" of Best Towing to help with the towing/storage costs on behalf, "but she didn't want to have a discussion". I went to pick up my car and asked the nice-behind-the-plexiglass-attendant to talk to the owner, but was told she wouldn't have a conversation with me.... and I paid the $1566. I realize that Best Towing is a "for-profit" business, and they should have made money on towing my stolen car, as they too have to pay their employees. Just seems like a ridiculous amount of money to ring someone up for that was a victim of their car being stolen. I'd avoid these BBB folks if possible.
