      I am a customer and have been for nearly 10 years. Reviews and internal communications is blocked. The reason for this poor review is the price of storage is constantly going up and yet, we have no access to our units unless the storefront is open to disengage the alarm. The outside alarm system has not worked for about a year. I was told that a 3rd party is responsible for the alarm so U-Haul has no control over that. I could care less, I pay U-Haul, not the 3rd party. If U-Haul has a 3rd party security system, U-Haul does have control over the 3rd parties' performance. They fail, U-Haul fails.I returned to the U-Haul in ***** on Sunday, 10/12, @ ~1145. The store security check-in portal did not work and directed me to the store manager for access. There was no one evident in the store. I asked the young woman outside cleaning trucks if she was the manager and she stated, "no." I advised here I was accessing my [unit number] 'anyway because you have no security system evident!" I accessed my unit, locked it up, and departed. It took ~ 2 minutes.I feel at this time a complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is most appropriate and I need to inform my insurance company U-Haul does not have a entry control system in effect and I am reporting it to reduce my liability should a break-in occur and I am charged with insurance fraud (I reported there was a security system in place). In addition to the BBB, I plan on filing a complaint with the ************************ (***). Our rents are based on services and in this case, services not being provided. At this point, I believe this to be consumer fraud by charging for services not rendered with no viable solution. Too bad a person was not available to address consumer concerns within a reasonable time.I will vacate my unit once I locate another company.
