This Auto Repair Shop lied about my vehicle. I called for an appt. and when I towed my car there, they put something in my gas tank and /or radiator to cause it to sludge. The vehicle wasn't starting, I told the Repair Shop that it had an electrical wiring issue. ( Ignition box blocker). There was never any oil spurting from the oil dipstick or any other fluids coming from the vehicle. I had tried to start the vehicle several times before bringing it in for Repair. It just made a sound, engine was trying to start. I found some wiring that someone put under my dash. After taking my vehicle to Quality Auto Repair in Hemet, I got a call almost immediately after dropping the car off. They were eating lunch at 12:50pm and I received a call at 1:03pm. The Receptionist, *******, make a huge production out of her evaluation for the vehicle. She Lied and told me that the engine was Cracked, the Head Gaskets were leaking and there was Radiator fluid in my Oil. I told her that was impossible, there was nothing wrong with the car except for the ignition box blocker. I had the head Gaskets replaced recently and there were no fluids coming from the engine or radiator. I looked under the hood before I towed the vehicle (for the 3rd time) and saw new sludge coming from the dipstick. The area was previously dry. Upon placing the car on the tow truck again, ( I had towed it to Quality Auto from Quinns Auto Shop- who referred me to them) there was clear fluid coming from the car that spilled out on the tow truck. No clear fluid or oil sludge the night before or that morning. I had parked my car at Quinns the night before and had to disconnect the battery so no one could get through the window and open the car door lock. No water or oil coming from the engine or radiator, no fluids leaking into the tow truck when it was towed that morning or the night before. Towed it from my house to Quinns, then from Quinns to Quality Auto. No fluids or oil coming out! Paid $80 X 4 -$240 on Tows!

RE: Quality Auto Repair T ID ******** Dear Ms. ********: This letter is in response to the complaint submitted to the BBB on 3/5/2022. Below is an account of Quality Auto Repairs interaction with customer who filed the complaint.
On 2/28/2022, Quality Auto Repair received a phone call from a woman asking if she could have her car towed to the shop due to a no start condition. The 1999 Ford Mustang was brought in by a tow truck at approximately 11:45 AM. Approximately 30 — 40 minutes from the car being towed into the yard, the technician opened the hood and then attempted to start the vehicle and quickly realized that there was sludge and oil coming out of the oil filler cap, which was missing. The technician pulled the oil indicator stick and found more sludge coming out. It was decided by the Owner of Quality Auto Repair and technician that there were too many issues with the vehicle and the shop's workload could not accommodate at that time. The customer was called and informed of the sludge coming from the oil filler and that Quality was unable to work on her vehicle due to the workload and to please have her vehicle towed out of the yard as soon as possible as it was in the middle of the parking lot where the tow truck dropped it.
When the customer arrived back at the business, she was shown the sludge in the vehicle, and she told the technician that the vehicle must have been sabotaged in the parking lot she had left it at the day before. An no-charge invoice was given to the customer indicating the reason for bringing the vehicle to the shop and the problems that were found. Please see attached invoice.
The vehicle was only at Quality Auto Repair for approximately 2 hours and the customer was never charged. Please note, the business is outfitted with many security cameras and the entire event was caught on camera. The footage on the camera shows that the technician did not tamper with the vehicle as she claims.

      Customer response

      03/19/2022

I am rejecting this response because:
The Receptionist that I contacted to find out how long it would take to fix the Ignition Blocking Wiring that someone installed under my 1999 Ford Mustang really had no reason to start the engine.
There was no mention of any Wiring Check whatsoever when I called to find out how long it would take to Remove the Box under the Driver Side Dash. They obviously did not perform the Service I asked for and Failed to ever mention it, not even in thier Response! The Receptionist smugly said that "The engine can't be Repaired, it has a Cracked Head, valve cover gaskets leaking, and radiator water in the engine  "A Lie".

The car is running fine, I  drove it recently, had the valve cover gaskets replaced by Quinn's Auto Repair and had checked the oil. No sludge!
As I Stated in my Original Complaint,
The car was towed twice- from my home to Quinns
Auto (they are closed) in Hemet, one block from Quality Auto. The Towing Company can verify, there were no fluids leaking from the car until it left Quality Auto.
Also Quinn's Repair has Cameras where my vehicle was Parked in the corner by their front door, and since they are long time friends of the person who Originally Paid for my Vehicle Inspection and Service upon Purchase ($2000.00) of Repairs on File, and they are Closed for Business, there's no motive. I would like fjr Quality Auto ti Submit their Camera Footage if the time my vehicle came and left their Property. Also, why the huge production about the car in their lot? They knew it was a Starting issue "Foul Play" it was placed where they instructed to have the tow driver place it! As if it was an inconvenience for the Shop to work on just my vehicle being in their yard. Don't try to throw dirt where it doesn't belong!
