I purchased a used vehicle in 2021 and was told I could not remove the Reviver e-plate. Since then, the registration renewal updates almost a year, sometimes a year and a half, after I have paid my DMV fee. I have tried to contact Reviver several times but I have not been successful. This past week on Wednesday 7/9, I received a ticket from the City of *********** for "Display of Plates". When I asked the parking enforcement officer, I was told it was due to the registration expiration. I believe I should not have to pay $20 fine as a result. Following the ticket, I finally was able to submit an inquiry on the Reviver website and received an automated message that I would receive a response within 1 business day. I have not received a response yet. I want to be able to update the registration on a timely basis without having to pay a separate Reviver subscription fee to access the mobile app. I will submit a complaint to the BBB everyday until I receive a response from either BBB or Reviver.Business Response

I have owned a digital license plate from ******************** for about a year now. I had no real issues dealing with the company until recently. My car was rear ended and the mounting bracket in which the digital plate connects to and uses as authentication was damaged. I reached out to Reviver through their support on May 28th, to find out how to order a replacement mounting bracket. After dozens of back and fourth emails, opening up service tickets, using the chat support, etc. I have been told twice now that the bracket would be shipped to me after I tell them my preferred shipping method and still nothing. Please note that without the mounting bracket, the nearly 600 dollar digital license plate is worthless. It uses the mounting plate to verify that the plate is attached to the right vehicle and that the registration is current. Right now, I have been able to make it work by way of modifying the broken mounting plate, and using a ton of double sided mounting tape to attach it to my truck, which is ridiculous for such an expensive product. And obviously not very secure, since someone could walk up and rip it right off the back if they wanted too. The customer service when I was spending all of that money to get the plate and set it up was pretty good. But this company doesn't seem to care at all about on going customer support once they got your initial money which is a shame, because they have no real competition in the state.Business Response

Ordered a license plate, seemed like it should be easy, but it's been so difficult it doesn't even make any sense. They use a company called Fragile to fulfill their orders, but Fragile doesn't seem to actually ship anything. Fragile was so upset with the company, Reviver, they actually told me they don't send them any product so they can't ship anything out. If you call Reviver then they pretend they can't help you. So, it's essentially a scam? I get no product, they don't have record of anything and refuse to help. On or around September 2023, I purchased a Reviver RPlate, including the installation service. In October 2023, I contacted Reviver to schedule the installation but received no *********** December 2023, I followed up again and inquired about both the RPlate and the installation service I paid for. In an email dated December 27, 2023, Reviver acknowledged the delay and cited the holidays and hectic scheduling as the reason. They assured me they would reach out to a certified installer and follow upthis never happened.Then in January 2025, Reviver attempted to charge my card again, despite the fact that I still had not received the product or the installation service. I contacted them repeatedly, but was met with vague, conflicting statements and continued runarounds. The representative I dealt with, ****** Khliustov, made multiple false claims and failed to provide any concrete *************** forward to May and June of 2025, I was told I would now need to pay off the original plate I never received or used, and pay an additional $550+ to be issued a new battery-operated plate. This demand is completely unreasonable and borders on predatory.I have made numerous good faith efforts to resolve this directly with Reviver, but they have continuously failed to deliver what I paid for, while attempting to charge me more for services they never fulfilled. I purchased a wired license plate through ********************** for my car. Since then, i sold my car and attempted to switch the license plate number on my electronic plate as the car is no longer in my possession and i have a new car. I have been informed by reviver that California changed their laws, I can no longer use the wire plate and that i need to switch to a battery plate which i need to pay, additionally i need to pay the remaining on my contract on the wire plate even though I can't use it due to a change in regulations. I was unable to renew my plate through the reviver app after multiple attempts. It continuously said *** is off-line. Because I was running out of time and Wood incurred a late fee. I went directly to the *** site and was able to pay the registration before the plate expired.Reviver updated my plate, but change the appearance without my consent In order to restore my plate to its original Parents, I am required to jump through numerous hoops I purchased a plate I was told renewing my registration would be less difficult when in fact, it has multiple steps to the renewal process and had I not taking the matter into my own hands and went directly to the *** my tags wouldve expired When I contacted ***************** the ref was extremely unsympathetic, bordering on confrontational I now have a useless several hundred dollar license plate and because when I got my ********************** plate, they changed my license plate number. Regarding the default setting of your license plate, which features a white background with black letters, this can occur when there is an update to your plate, such as a change in your tags. I purchased a digital plate for $500 based on advertising that I could do certain things with the plate only to find out that its not true. You cannot put anything that you want on the tag line as advertised. Arizona residents cannot even customize at all. False advertising and then refused a refund.Business Response

This limitation is due to state regulations, and unfortunately, its not something we are able to override. However, there are several pre-approved messages available to Arizona drivers with the Standard plate type. A friend of mine moved out of state and sold me his reviver license plate. I called the ********************** support and they told me they need to check if the plate can be transferred. After a week or 2 they got back to me and said that the plate is wired and can not be transferred. They asked me to send the license plate back to them so they can send me a battery powered plate. I sent my plate and it was delivered to them on 03/06/2025. Since then I called them ALMOST every day and they always told me someone is going to call me for more info. I requested to talk with a supervisor. They told me a supervisor will call me in 20 mins. I waited 24 hours no one called. I called back. The lady who was a "Supervisor" did not even care what I am saying. I have been literally begging them to send the license plate back to me (my own plate) for the last 2 weeks almost. They keep saying the same thing "We will request this from our team". I still did not receive any tracking info or anything from them. I CAN NOT BELIEVE DMV IS TRUSTING THESE GUYS WITH THIS PROCESS!!!!! THESE PEOPLE LITERALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!!!!DO NOT BUY THE LICENSE PLATE FROM THIS COMPANY!!! After thoroughly reviewing your case, I would like to inform you that the reason your RPLATE cannot be activated is because the device was purchased from a third party and it appears that the previous owner of the plate has an outstanding balance on the device, which is preventing it from being transferred and activated in your name. Unfortunately, until that balance is settled, we are unable to proceed with the activation of the plate. We received your RPLATE on 03/06/2025 and reached out to you on 03/10/2025 and let you know that
the previous owner of the plate has an outstanding balance on the device. On 03/12/2025 you contacted us to let us know that the previous owner of the plate has paid off the ****** and we confirmed with our billing team that no recent payments were made and that there is still an outstanding balance on the device. At this point you reached out to us on 03/17/2025 and requested to cancel the transfer process and asked us to ship the RPLATE back to you. As of 03/18/2025 have shipped the RPLATE back to you and provided you with the tracking information.

I am rejecting this response because: It took you almost 2 weeks to confirm the balance was not paid off. I saw the person paying the balance in front of me. Maybe it did not go through that's normal BUT I called you guys ALMOST every day for 2 weeks and you could not confirm that it was not paid. If a company can not confirm this simple info in ***** hours ( It takes 5 minutes to go into any system to check or confirm the payment info) , then you have a huge problem. STOP WASTING people's time. I am glad this did not work out for me because I would hate to deal with such customer service for my registration etc process. I feel like I am being extorted by Reviver. I paid upfront for my plate and was under the impression all I would owe going forward is DMV registration fees but Reviver actually charges yearly fees apparently to continue service which I did not know about. They are very misleading and their website is not clear regarding their fees and their contracts. All I want is to put my standard CA plate on and pay for my registration but they are holding my vehicle hostage and say they wont let me out of a 4 year contract. If I knew any of these terms I would NEVER have purchased an Rplate. I am very disappointed and will be looking into legal action against them. Also, as previous posts have said they have horrible customer service and you cannot talk to anybody over the phone in my experience. You will get an unhelpful email the following day. They have a phone number and supposed phone support but I dont believe they even have an office or anyone working the phones. To clarify, when you purchased the RPLATE in 2023 we were offering the RPLATE with a 48-month commitment and breaking up the cost of the device and the service. Payments could be made monthly or annually. Since then, we have changed our pricing structure to where you pay for the device up front and then you are responsible for selecting a service plan. While our contract terms are typically binding, we do aim to work with our customers where possible to address concerns and offer solutions. I saw that our billing team reached out with a solution but if thats not agreeable, were open for discussion. I am rejecting this response because:
i am finally aware now of what the charges of having an Rplate are and i would have never made the purchase if I had known. Unacceptable business tactics and ways of getting customers. Not to mention now I cant pay my registration unless I agree to Revivers terms and pay off the plate that I want to return. I was given the option of paying the current price of an Rplate for $500 and then either accepting a yearly subscription or after paid i can remove my Rplate and put my state issued back on. So what i unknowingly signed up for is $928 for 4 years of having an Rplate. Now they are charging $500 for the plate and $75 per year if you want to be able to pay your DMV fees through the app so thats basically its $800 for 4 years. If Reviver would have been upfront about their charges they would have had less customers but a much better reputation. What a waste of time and money, I am still very disappointed.

I purchase the Rplate 2 years ago and although the setup was slow it has generally worked well. I was living in ********** during the time but have recently moved to **. Rplates are illegal in ** so Ive had to switch to regular license plate. ********************** is refusing to cancel my subscription, stating that I am locked into a 4 year contract. So yeah, this company is terrible. Do not do business with them unless you are certain your vehicle will never be registered in another state. Even then dont do business with them because they are shady, hide contract details, rarely if ever respond to email inquiries and are all around a terrible company.Business Response
