      I did a 7 day trial and being charged 49.60 for services that’s outdated with house listings. Rent2Own and Rentbeforeowning. They said they don’t see where I canceled or call. I want my 2 payments of 49.60 back . These listings are not updated. Please help me and stop these people from trying to talk you into staying with gift cards and 60% off nobody wants this because it’s not useful but what’s it’s worth 1.00.

      In response to the complaint, our findings show that on 7/30/2023, the customer successfully enrolled in a 7-day $1.00 trial membership. The customer did not contact us during the trial period to cancel the membership. As per the membership agreement that the customer acknowledged, she was charged a subscription fee.  All of these details, including trial length, trial price, and the monthly membership fee can be found on the signup page, on our Terms and Conditions page, and in the Welcome Email that is sent out immediately upon sign-up.

      On 9/27/2023, the customer contacted us requesting cancellation and a refund. Our representative canceled the account and sent the customer a refund application. The customer returned the completed refund application. A refund was applied on 9/29/2023.

      Further research shows that the customer has opened multiple accounts with us.  She opened an account on 4/30/2023 and 9/7/2022.  She also requested and was granted a refund on the 4/30/2023 account.

      I have been getting charges from this all the time and I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS and I did NOT sign up for any rent before owning properties etc. charge 1- June 30th for 2.00 (two separate $1 charges) charge 2- July 10th for $49.60 charge 3- August 8th for $1.00 charge 4- august 21 for $49.60 Charge 5- September 6th for $1.00 I demand these charges be reversed and placed back into my account. I affirm I did not sign up for whatever this is and from what I have researched, I’m not the only one getting these scam charges. I revoke the right for the business or whatever to make ACH charges from my account. If I don’t get my refund I will get ahold of law enforcement that deals with these type of situations and attack this business. SCAM!!!!!

      Thank you for the opportunity to address the complaint raised by our customer.  The customer enrolled in a 7-day $1 trial offer on 6/29/2023.  As per our terms and agreement, she was charged a monthly fee of $49.60 after the trial expired.  We require each member to check a box stating that he/she has read and agreed to the terms of use and pricing information prior to registering the account.  We require all members to provide their full name, home address, and complete credit card information, including CVV (number located on the back of the card). The bank authorized the payments since the information provided matched the records on file.  After registering the account, we sent a Welcome Letter immediately to the email address provided.


      The customer never contacted us to cancel the account.  We have canceled the account.  Although the charges are valid, we have provided the customer with a one-time courtesy credit.

      It was a $1.50 to get on the rent beforebuying for 7days. That was Aug 21dt,2023. I didn't like the site so I called to cancel on 08/25/2023. The person did everything possible to keep me from canceling. I said no cancel. He keep going on and on O said cancel and have a nice.. I figure since it was being recorded I was ok..BOY WAS I WRONG. THERE IS A 49.99 PENDING. I tried calling .No one would pickup. So that's why I getting in touch with BBB

      I requested a cancelation 8/1/23. I noticed these guys charged my debit card $49.66 cents 8/26/23. I requested cancellation again & a refund. They sent me some link with address to mail a request. I simply want my money back. Please help?

      The customer contacted us requesting a refund on 8/26/2023.  Since the charge was valid, our representative offered the customer an application for refund consideration. The customer agreed to complete the application.  On same day, the customer sent us email refusing to complete the application. The issue was escalated and a refund was issued on 8/27/2023.  A refund email was sent to the customer.  The customer contacted the BBB on 8/28/2023.  Since the refund has already been provided, we consider the matter closed.

      I put my name and phone number on the site just to see what might be listed in the area I am thinking of moving. Now they are calling at least two to three times daily and I cannot find anything on the website that allows me to stop the calls.

      I contacted this business before the trial period to cancel. I was on hold for 40 minutes and then heard a very long sales pitch to keep my business and I refused. I logged into the site and checked my account and it said I was canceled but $49 was withdrawn from my account anyway. I want a full refund for fraud

      As per the terms and conditions, the customer must cancel within the trial period to avoid enrolling in the membership.  The trial period is date and time sensitive.  The customer's trial had already expired when she contacted the customer service center. The billing was sent to her bank on 7/6 not 7/8 as listed in the complaint. The bank posted the charge on 7/8.  The customer enrolled in the 7-day trial on 6/29. Although the subscription fee was valid since the account was cancelled after the expiration, as a courtesy, the representative should have voided the charge since it was a same day charge.  We apologize for any inconvenience. The subscription fee has been removed. Please let us know if you require further information.

      In researching the complaint, we determined that this is the second time that the customer has subscribed to the service and asked for a refund. 

      -On 9/9/2022, the customer enrolled in the trial.  He did not cancel the service and was charged a membership fee. 

      -On 9/24/2022, the customer contacted us stating that he did not sign up.  After our representative explained the charges, the customer became irate and hung up.  The account was canceled.

      -On 9/26/2022, the customer called again and requested a refund.  Our representative attempted to explain the process, and the customer hung up. 

      -On 9/26/2022, the sister contacted us on behalf of her brother, requesting a refund.  The refund process was explained, and the sister agreed to send back the application.

      -On 10/6/2022, refund processed.

      -On 3/30/2023, the customer activated a new account and enrolled in the trial offer again.  The customer never contacted us to cancel and was charged a membership fee.

      -On 4/8/2023, the customer called in to cancel service.  Our representative offered the customer a discount to keep service.  The customer agreed.

      -On 4/8/2023, the customer called in to cancel service again.  The customer was offered a refund application.  The customer hung up on the representative.  The representative called back, and the customer agreed to send back the application.  The account was canceled, and a refund application was sent.

      Based on the circumstances, we have provided the customer with another refund.  We have also banned his account to prevent future enrollments.  Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

      I signed up for a one time free trial and keep getting charged $49 dollars. I tried to cancel and was told they could not find my account. I just want this canceled I do not need it any more.

      On 4/6/2023, after receiving the complaint, we contacted the customer to locate the account. We were unable to find the account because the account was registered under her fiancee's name. We provided the customer with a one-month courtesy credit and canceled the account.  The customer was satisfied.

      In addition, we require all members to provide their full name, home address, and complete credit card information, including CVV (number located on the back of the card).  The bank authorized the payments since the information provided matched the records on file.  


      Although the charges are valid, we refunded the subscription fee on 3/24/2023.  The customer was notified of the refund on the same day via email.

      Found this website called "rentbeforeowning.com" that offered listings of rent to own properties. But to veiw the properties you had to start a trial for a dollar. Paid the dollar but the services was subpar so tried to cancel the trial but everytime I called it wouldn't go through. Shortly after that I started getting notifications from my bank about attempted charges from the company in the amount of 46.90 every few days I blocked the trans actions yet attempts were still made. So I reported my debit card as comprised and ordered a new one. Thinking the issue was resolved I got my new card and activated it. And just this morning I get a notification from my bank stating there was an attempted charges to my card from the company. First I didn't not update my payment information with the company therefore did not authorize them to charge said card. Yet they somehow managed to get my new card number it would seem almost by nefarious means. Account name on website: [email protected] Screenshots will be uploaded

      Thank you for the opportunity to address the complaint raised by our customer. The customer enrolled in a 7-day $1 trial offer to our program on 1/29/2023. As per the terms and conditions that the customer acknowledged, we attempted to bill the monthly subscription fee.


      We have no record of the customer contacting us. We ran a trace of the contact number on the account. The account was never charged due to the bank declining the card.  


      The account has been canceled. Customers may cancel via our call center, email, or interactive voice response system. In addition, we provide instructions on how to cancel in our Welcome email and on our website.


      Note: Replacing a credit card does not prevent valid charges from being billed. The bank will transfer charges from the old card to the new card. The best way to avoid charges is to contact the company and cancel the account.
