1 starI don't understand how this business could be rated A+ by BBB. I had the same experience as the other people complaining. I paid for a trust preparation only and they say I signed up for a monthly suscription, which I didn't because I say no to all suscriptions. I didn't need a suscription. Then I called them because they were charging my mom's credit card. And at first they couldn't even find the payments. I sent several emails and called three times. They kept on sending me to higher **** And each person repeated the same thing, that I had signed up for this service that I hadn't and that they were not authorized to give a refund. My mom tried calling too and they wouldn't even accept a stop payment on her own credit card which is under her name. This is a total scam. Please take away their A+ rating if you want BBB to be trusted.Review fromSayeed S

1 starI WISH I could leave a lower rating. Absolute scam with little to no value provided. Phantom charges for a service that leaves you confused and questioning why you enlisted in the scam in the first place. Truly nothing about the service is worthwhile. They never pick up the phone, so got luck trying to understand their charges, let alone the services they provide. My family and I have been trying to start up a small business and nothing has been more of a dream killer than legal zoom. Its just a discouraging, vague, and predatory platform.

1 starLegalzoom is a complete scam. They will charge you for things you do not need at exorbitant prices. If you submit orders with them they will not complete the order, take your money, and will not refund you even if you try to cancel the order. I and many others have wasted hundreds of dollars on this scam website. If you need things done regarding your business, do not fall into the legalzoom scam. Hire a professional who can help you set up and manage your business for you. I've been in business for over 6 years and setting up with legalzoom was the worst thing I could have done. Save yourself the money and the stress and find somewhere or someone else.LegalZoom

1 starLegal zoom is a complete SCAM. They continued to charge me for a subscription that I did not agree to. Ive spent months trying to get a full refund which they refuse to do. Ive spent hours on the phone trying to get this resolved with the Legalzoom compliance department with them telling me someone would email or call me back, which never happens. Finally I got in touch with a compliance manager who admitted that they have an issue with Legal Zoom accounts not showing current subscriptions (in the subscriptions tab) which customers are still getting charged for. She said their engineers are working on it. Such deceptive practices. DO NOT use them for anything!!LegalZoom

1 starI registered my company with legalzoom - paid for the ******* Package which canningly is $249 + state registrattion fees ($70 for CA). They auto subscribed me into their Registered Agent annual subscription. I however used ********* as my Registered Agent and paid $125, filed for change of Registered Agent right after my company was formed but LegalZoom went ahead and on October 9th charged me $249 for RA (Order #********) - a service I never requested or used. How clever of them to call it "RA Renewal"Note that I called them right before the company formation was complete to inform them that I will be going with another agent but they instead they focused on advertising to me additional services. I called them again after noticing the charge and they were like it's too late. It is clear in their system that they are not my RA and even have a button requesting me to appoint them as their RA. This is an uncouth, weasel-like way of conducting business. I called them today and the agent told me they understand that I have another RA and I didnot use the service but are only following company rules. This is theft. Avoid LegalZoom at all costs.LegalZoom

1 starLegal zoom has been consistently disappointing. I used them to create a will then they signed me up for some sort of legal assistance that i didn't ask for and began charging me $25 a month so i logged in and canceled the service - they refused to refund any of my money. This was in 2020. Then THIS YEAR (2025) they began charging me $25 a month again. I was alerted by my credit card company of a recurrent transaction. Legal zoom sent me no emails to let me know they were taking my money each month. So I logged in to cancel the service but there was no subscription active on my account. NOWHERE to cancel the charge on my side. So no only were they taking my money against my will without me knowing - I also had no way of canceling it without contacting them. So I reached out to customer service who of course blamed the situation on me and told me they would not be refunding anything. I really cant believe that this company so blatantly rips people off like this. I have a mind to start a class action lawsuit against legal zoom because this is unacceptable.LegalZoom

1 starI am filing this complaint because I was charged for LegalZooms ************************* even though I had canceled my subscriptions with them previously. I recently noticed a charge for this service and, upon reviewing my emails, discovered that LegalZoom had sent a notice stating the price was increasing from $199 to $499 per ******* the same time, I was receiving repeated warning emails saying my subscription was about to expire and that I needed to renew, which clearly suggested I was not on auto-renew. These messages were confusing and contradictory.I am certain I canceled my subscription some time ago, though I no longer have a confirmation email to prove it. Regardless, I believe LegalZooms renewal and communication process is misleading. I missed the auto-renewal date by only a few days (which only happened because I had already canceled), and they are now refusing to issue a refund, even though the charge is for a service year that has not yet occurred.The price increase of over 100% (from $199 to $499) and the unclear communication about renewal status make this situation feel deceptive and unfair. I am requesting a full refund for the $499 charge.If you are considering using LegalZoom, I would seriously reconsider. Their billing and communication practices can be very confusing, and you will receive little to no help if you experience an issue. Ive been a long-time customer, but this experience has completely changed my opinion of the company. I will be advising everyone I know to stay away from their services. I never write reviews like this, but after speaking with their support team and getting no resolution, I felt this was the only way to request a fair refund and warn others.LegalZoom
