1 starTrying to cancel services has taken well over 14 months to do. Ive made 4 calls and nothing has changed. To date- I have not received a refund of charges to my account in July of 2025 for a service I canceled in 2024. I tried to file a formal complaint during my most recent call- I was told Ill let corporate know. *** never know a company to not have a formal grievance process. This service was expensive and I did not see the benefit of having it, everything that was offered I could do through the state for free.Review fromR.Adams

2 starsI recently (May 2025) used LegalZoom to form my LLC and agreed to the registered agent service through them. Apparently I inadvertently agreed to a couple of other subscriptions and didn't pay close enough attention until I saw a surprise $199 charge for "State Compliance Filings Renewal." THEN I was unable to find any information in my account and after 3 days of ************* getting ghosted and told they were having system issues, it turns out they had somehow set up my account using an incorrect email address with the word "counseling" spelled "councilling," which definitely was not my fault since I have been "counseling" for over a decade. Now they are telling me I am past the 30-day refund window despite finally canceling this subscription last week and naively assuming a refund would be issued. They do not respond to emails, only chat or phone calls. Also, they have several different departments and you WILL get bounced around on the phone from department to department. I am 100% sure this is designed hoping people will give up. I am granting them two stars because they DID indeed get my LLC set up extremely quickly but I do not recommend based on shady, sneaky business practices. TL;DR: be sure to read the fine print and triple check everything.

Yes it sure does "match" my review on another site. It took a week for your "escalation" person to reply to me and it was only after I disputed the charge with my credit union card services. 1 starPain in the a** scam, no matter how simple we tried to make it, all they did was take our money and not provide any documents or services as promised. Now I need another lawyer to get my money back from these half a** lawyers. Just go to someone local and don't let these thieves scam you!LegalZoom

1 starI trusted LegalZoom for 3 years to help me with my business. My CPA forgot the file a form with the state of *****. LegalZoom told me they would do it for $950. I did it for $75. They are a complete rip-off and con artist yes they did set up my LLC and I appreciated that but they did it for a lot more money I could do it anywhere else they also want me to pay $499 for a registered agent I got one for $34 you do not need legal zoom do your own research people they are rip off artists!!!LegalZoom

1 starMisleading charges after purchasing what I understood to be a one-time package I purchased the *********** package for $686, believing it to be a single payment. It was only afterward that I discovered recurring charges for additional "subscription" services $199 for State Compliance and $49 for Business Attorney Plan, were quietly added. Nothing in the checkout process clearly disclosed these ongoing fees. When I asked for a refund, LegalZoom refused, citing buried disclaimers and their 30-day policy, even though I never knowingly agreed to any subscription. Their cancellation was reactive, not pro-active, and my trust has been seriously undermined. This feels like a deceptive billing tactic to extract more money from customers without full disclosure. Be cautious, what looks like a one-time deal may not be.LegalZoom

1 starDo not use LegalZoom for anything.Legal Zoom doesn't do what you pay them to do then uses every trick in the book (including using "customer service ***** that don't speak English).Avoid those con artists at all costs!!!Please share to get the word out!LegalZoom

1 starI just had a terrible experience with LegalZoom. This year, when I was filing my annual report, I didnt realize that they had automatically set themselves as my registered agent. During the checkout process, there was no clear indication of any additional charges. Later, I received an email stating that I needed to pay for this service.I called customer service, and they told me the report had already been submitted, so I either had to pay the fee or wait for the filing to be rejected and refile it myself. However, they said they would not be responsible for any fees that might arise in the ********** absolutely furious. First of all, how can you allow customers to proceed with selecting a service they never subscribed to? Even if it was selected, why wasnt the fee clearly displayed during checkout? Why wait to inform customers by email after the fact? This is blatant fraud.*** canceled all my subscriptions with LegalZoom.LegalZoom

1 star*************, it never went anywhere by my own doing BUT getting LegalZoom to submit the dissolution was a nightmare! Spoke to several people, submitted documents over and over again, then I continued to get emails wanting more money for an RA....for a business that is inactive with the state. They will not stop sending me emails and I have had over 4 chats with them to stop all contact with me on an inactive account.LegalZoom

I gave multiple warnings if your employees didnt resolve the issues I would report this to the BBB. My last communication with your business I asked that you stop communicating with me and I blocked your emails but here you are, calling me. 1 starI created an LLC and payed a subscription for a registration agent to file the ********************. The registration agent was not filing ******************** was canceled. I was fine with my LLC being canceled but Legal zoom continued to bill me and just recently took $400 for the subscription and my LLC was and is no longer active. Having to speak with multiple people just to try and resolve an issue is not professional either.LegalZoom
