Legal Zoom wants to be my agent for a company that's already closed, how illegal is this, an entity that already closed but insist on being the registered agent?Is this a legal stance by a company that deals in legal matters!! Never do business with Legal Zoom ever!Review from Reinier T

They were opening a business company to me, then I saw that they were working poorly, I cancelled the order, I asked them to return my money, they sent me a check for the amount of 803 dollars but the check had no funds, my bank charged me a fee for that transaction, it seems like I was committing fraud, then I complain again they tell me that they were going to send me another check and it never arrives, I always call, talk blah blah blah and they don't pay me, I feel scammed by them.,,they do bad procedure for businesReview from Jim82

LegalZoom is a predatory company, they use an auto opt in, subscription fee of $249/year for LLC registered agent. After seeing this charge on my credit card yesterday, with no warning email or text reminder, nothing, I called them to end my registered agent subscription, that I had no idea I was auto enrolled in, and requested a refund on the day the charge appeared. The representative said that a refund was not possible and she would not cancel my RA subscription over the phone. I will be disputing this charge with my credit card as well. This is such a shady and deceptive practice. I changed the registered agent on the Ohio site for $25 and it took less than 1 day for the state to recognize the change. I would not recommend LegalZoom to anyone for legal documents or services of any kind. I want my $249 refunded.Review from Eddie A

I am very unhappy and frustrated with this business. It's all about them making money a fee for this and a fee for that, they seem so nice when you're opening a business but when you want to close it that's when they play their games. So after they told me how to closed it back in December 2023 I thought I was done with them but apparently they still have my credit card info and without any warning they deducted $199.00 out of my bank after the business has already been closed for 9 months. When I called Legalzoom to refund my money they say it can't be done because they have no records of the business being closed. I told them to cancel everything and send me confirmation because I feel they will try to take money out again next year. I did get a email this time but no confirmation number on it. They took $199 for a business I no longer have and I clearly wasn't prepared for it to be deducted from my account today so if they do this to all their clients that's stealing and I want other people to be aware and know before they do any kind of business with them.Review from Jennifer S

I had high regards for this company LegalZoom which I had used in the past. The service I received recently was very disappointing. I paid $649 for a trademark and had an intake call and was told to fill out the consent form and email it back to ******* which I did and did not hear from her or any other representative after leaving a few emails. I called LegalZoom to ask for a full refund because I was not happy with the service and they would not give me a full refund because I had an intake phone call with *******. They refunded me only $499 and kept the $150. I called to speak to ******** and I get it my mother was upset about this charge because she actually helped me pay for it. ******** **** up on us twice. I asked kindly to speak to a manager about this situation and I was told they don't have a manager. I feel like I got the runaround each time I called I spoke to a new representative that could not help me. Terrible terrible business very upset about this I feel like it was not right to lose $150 they did nothing for me. Be aware if anyone is going to use this company.Review from Gordon E

Predatory business. They will gladly charge you $300 a year forever and ever, even if your business has been dissolved or is in a revoked state. They will make account cancellation an absolute nightmare, they will tell you they cant cancel your subscription, theyll give you the run-around and transfer you to ever single department and you still wont have any answers. All-in-all, its a scummy business model with very little benefit, and an absolutely impossible refund/cancellation policy. They definitely have a lawsuit in their future, and I sure hope its a class action, because thats the only way I could get my $300 back. NEVER USE LEGALZOOM!Review from Emma S

I am extremely frustrated with Legalzoom. I wanted to create an LLC for my properties and Legalzoom made it seem so easy, educational and worth the cost. I really wish someone would of written this review I'm writing before I signed up with them - this is a complete scam. I have paid short of $1,000 for NOTHING! I have called 6 times and spoken to escalation, emailed, and used their live chat and everyone constantly tells me they are here to help yet nothing gets done. I was constantly told they would alert me if something was wrong, yet no one reached out. Their outsourced team will not give me a refund as its over 30 days, yet its been their team that is solely responsible for the delay. I'm now months behind all because of Legalzoom and spent money on a fake service. Beware, do not use this service!!!! I wish I could give negative stars.Review from Moran L

I was really disappointed with the service I received from LegalZoom. I paid for their business formation package, but the process was slow and frustrating. The website was clunky and hard to navigate, and the customer support team was unhelpful.I had to wait weeks for my documents to be processed, and even then, they contained errors that I had to pay extra to fix. The whole experience felt like a bait and switch - they advertised a streamlined and affordable way to start a business, but in reality, it was anything ****** make matters worse, I found out later that I could have saved money by working directly with my state's business registration office. The extra fees I paid to LegalZoom weren't worth the supposed convenience.Overall, I would not recommend LegalZoom to anyone starting a business. There are better options out there.Review from Chad F

I signed up for an LLC a year ago with Legal Zoom. They claim that it is state law to have legal representation. I received a charge on my credit card for $299 randomly in August. I called to dispute and they said they would not refund or credit me. I asked to speak to a manager and they said that person was at lunch and would call me back. I never received a call back. I thought that my LLC was cancelled because there was some kind of fee that I had to pay by May. Legal Zoom informed me in was active and stood their ground for not refunding my money. In turn, I paid $25 to cancel my LLC immediately. I called again on August 3rd and argued with them for an hour trying to get a refund for services not needed nor ever used. They are a scam company. look at the reviews. It is the same complaint from everyone.
