1 starI've worked with LegalZoom for many years and they are generally very good but recently I've had the worst experience. I have been trying to register an LLC with them and the process has taken more than 12 months now. I have gone back and forth with LegalZoom and the state multiple times and I feel that I am on the same page as the state but we can't seem to get LegalZoom to understand the correct process for this LLC setup. The procedure is slightly abnormal because I already own the registered business name, so it requires a business name cancellation at the same time as it requires an LLC formation, but it's frustrating that LegalZoom can't seem to figure it out. The most frustrating part of this process is that I have to be transferred to multiple departments every time I speak with LegalZoom before I find someone who speaks clear and fluent english and has the authorization and "know how" to work through the paperwork processing. For simple business formation, LegalZoom has been great. For slightly complex formations, I recommend finding an attorney or another business.Review fromHugo O

1 starBeware when using LegalZoom. I filled and paid for an LLC. Later I found out that LegalZoom charged me for 5 subscriptions they opted me into. Over $300 in subscriptions I did not want or opted into. They refused to give me a refund. Beware of LegalZoom hidden charges.Review fromIsaac M

The 5 star reviews are clearly FAKE. I have used this service and DO NOT recommend using them for Trademarks, Corporate filings of ANY kind, or any other legal work for that matter.They employ bait and switch pricing. I've now paid more than $1,500 FOR A TRADEMARK! They don't advertise their real prices and add on fee after fee for everything. There are reputable law firms where you can actually talk to your attorney, unlike LegalZoom, and they charge less than half of this. They are completely incompetent, they missed deadlines, and you will almost NEVER be able to talk to your own attorney.Complete RIP OFF and scam of a business. Beware of fake reviews flooding the list to drown out negative reviews.

I payed Legal zoom to open a corp for me and got a virtual address from them but then i didnt need this corp anymore so i paid them to close it and they told me everything is good and will be taken care off. two months goes by and the corp isnt closed i called them they said we emailed you that we were missing some info so then wanted me to call Texas controller to get some info but when i called they told me that Legal zoom gave the wrong info and i have to do different steps to close my corp i went back to LZoom and asked them for a refund and that will close it myself they wouldnt admitt that they were wrong and they said they had a 60 days refudn policy so they wouldnt refund.LegalZoom

My husband and I ordered the Basic Will and Trust Package from Legal Zoom. We put in the order on April 5th and we should get free revisions for up to 30 days, however its June 11th and legal zoom has still after two conversations with tech support not processed my original order. You cannot make revisions until the original order is processed and all revisions are charged additional after the 30 days. So in short we paid $399 and two months later I still don't have a document that I can sign and I will have to pay up to an additional $199 in order to make any revisions.LegalZoom

They got me for $398 for services they did not provide. I felt safe using Legal Zoom, I even heard good things. However, if you try to cancel services they charge you anyways and do not refund you. This is a California company and to my knowledge, charging someone for services that are not rendered is illegal in **********. Just another large $1.68B company taking advantage of small business owners. The customer service is poor like most big companies nowadays. just a slow online chat. NO RESOLUTION. Always some Supervisor that never manifests. STAY AWAY!LegalZoom

I placed an order with LegalZoom to close my business and assumed the process would be handled from there. However, when I went to file my taxes, I discovered the business had never been closed. I contacted LegalZoom for a refund, but was informed that I was outside their 60-day refund window. While I fully understand and respect their policy, I believe it's unreasonable to deny a refund when the failure was due to their lack of **************** no point did LegalZoom notify me that additional information was needed or that my order was incomplete. Instead, they allowed the request to sit idle without any follow-up, and the 60 days passed without my knowledge. When I reached out, they offered to start a new orderbut only if I paid again.Regardless of policy, I dont believe it's acceptable to charge customers for incomplete service without any effort to notify or engage them during the process.LegalZoom

Update: Since posting this review, I have received a refund. While Im relieved the issue was ultimately resolved, its disappointing that it took leaving a negative review to get a responseespecially after several unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter through customer service. We purchased the business plan which is supposed to include e-signature but almost every time I want to use it, I cannot access (the system offers to upsell me something that I have already paid) and then it is hours with support! Total waste of time. They are only interested in upselling but not in delivering what you have paid for. STAY AWAYLegalZoom

More like Legal Doom!More like Legal Doom!Do not get suckered into this company. They are an ******* organization that will not handle the most important documents in your life with any sort of care or respect. I trusted them in 2011 to get my end of ************* directives together. At that time these were not ever digitized & I seriously doubt that they ever were. I distinctly recall mailing back all the documents in triplicate copies! The entire reason we selected them to begin with is because they guaranteed that they would keep a copy on file in perpetuity should a need for a replacement ever arise.Flash forward to 2025 & part of our documents have been permanently displaced. I reached out with the original order # from 2011 only to be told that they had been purged but I had the option TO PAY THEM AGAIN to replicate them?! This is where insult meets injury. I never ever received an email telling me that my documents had been digitized (once again I heavily speculate that they never were) nor did I receive a message alerting me that the non existing digital documents were to be purged. Please note I do have an online account with this information easily accessible to them. They have beyond dropped the ball. They betrayed ******* family. I have found a local attorney to handle things going forward.Put your money elsewhere & do not buy into this organization that cares nothing for you or even how they do business.
