    This company is manipulative, cruel, and unethical. What they are doing to people who need help is classic insurance gatekeeping for profit. I contacted Brain Health USA for an ADHD evaluation. They are listed as an in-network provider under my Health ************* plan. However, I was told by them, without documentation, that my insurance was not accepted for the evaluation. This directly contradicted both Health Net's provider directory and my plan coverage.When I asked for written confirmation or an explanation of denial, I was passed from one staff member to another. After pushing for proof, I was suddenly informed that my insurance was accepted and the service was covered after all. The reversal only happened after I insisted on documentation and contacted my insurer directly. They told me my insurance denied coverage for an ADHD test on July 2. When I contacted Brain Health USA 3 weeks later after contacting my insurance company (who told me they NEVER denied the claim) suddenly, in just three weeks time, they told me my insurance now DOES cover it! What a coincidence!This appears to be an intentional effort to discourage me from using my insurance and pressure me into paying out-of-pocket. I believe this is deceptive, unethical, and potentially a violation of their provider agreement and consumer protection standards. This experience delayed my access to care and caused unnecessary emotional stress during an already vulnerable time. Steer clear of these scammers. I'll be filing complaints in every way possible due to their greedy, unethical and cruel business practices.

    Extremely Disappointed with Brain Health USA Lack of Communication and Unprofessional CareI am beyond frustrated with my experience at Brain Health USA. From the very start, it has been an incredibly difficult and time-consuming process just to receive basic care. The company communicates primarily through text messages and phone calls, but the lack of internal communication is absolutely appalling. Every single time I speak to someone, I am forced to repeat the exact same information what I need, what I've requested, and what my health concerns are. It feels like none of the staff are on the same page, and nothing gets ******* make matters worse, I have been asked to fill out the same intake forms multiple times, despite being told Im "in the system." This feels like a waste of my time and adds to the frustration, especially when nothing changes and no progress is made in my care.The biggest issue is that when I finally do get an appointment (months later), its never with the doctor I need or the specialist I requested. They continue to pair me with providers who are completely unprepared, with no notes on my case, and no understanding of what Ive already clearly outlined as my needs. Its clear Ive communicated my requirements in detail, but it seems to fall on deaf ears. Despite this, they continually drop the ball and refuse to address or meet my *********** months ago, I filed a grievance for the exact same issues, and here we are again still dealing with the same unprofessional, disorganized care. It is absolutely ridiculous how hard it is to get any kind of meaningful care at Brain Health USA.

    If I could leave 0 stars I would.I have been with ************************** for several years now, and have just had an experience I felt was worth sharing.While I understand the dilemmas and complications with insurance, this prescriber was negligent in his way of termination. For clarity. The doctor missed our standing appointment on August 5th. It was rescheduled two days later for August 11th. On August 9th I get a text message, not even a phone call, but a text message saying that they no longer take my insurance and I either pay the $150 for the call with the doctor that is never any more than 1-2 minutes (maximum) in duration (no exaggeration). I cannot afford that unfortunately, and while I have contacted my insurance to set up a new appointment with a new psychiatrist, I must go off my medications cold turkey, something that could be extremely dangerous. Any physician would be aware of this and typically provide a months worth of supply to hold the patient over so that this doesnt happen.I am extremely upset and almost shocked that Brain Health USA condones this sort of treatment.

We regret that we are unable to assist further in this matter.

    Thirdly,since we are out of network, it is Anthem's responsibility to connect you with an in-network provider.

    Uncommunicative organization with shady practices that charge $350 to get disabled student support services forms filled out. I have texted, to only have the text ignored with an appointment confirmation text, and emailed, and received no responses after WEEKS. I called weeks ago to confirm they received my email, and texts (they do), and then last week had to call again for a follow-up.I emailed them on June 21, AFTER confirming with the psychiatric nurse if she can fill out the forms, and on July 10, they said: "Wed like to inform you that we received your paperwork - Certification of Disability To help you fill out the paperwork, we need to book an appointment with our psychologist/therapist. The psychologist/therapist will conduct a psychological testing evaluation first which is required to fill out the paperwork. The cost of your paperwork amounts to $350 which will be collected after the appointment." Ridiculous. I clarified if the health provider who has been treating me for nearly TWO YEARS can fill out the forms, as the forms do not specify they need to be from a psychologist/therapist, and if I can receive my health records to provide as documentation, as is my right as a patient. This was their response: "No, since the evaluation will be done by a psychologist/therapist depending on the availability. She will only be in charge of your medication and for all paperwork/disability requests will be endorsed to our department so take note again:- Paperwork is not covered by your insurance and will be out of the pocket by the patient.- Do note that all paperwork requests are being charged separately, not a one-time fee." I am now requesting digital files to avoid the paperwork requests. It is horrible how they are taking advantage of others in similar predicaments. I've done this before without needing extra charge and seeing another professional. The psychiatric nurse I'm seeing is good, but the overall org is not.

Let me just clarify that there was initially a misunderstanding regarding the type of document that you sent, because there are some types of state disability that we don't do, where they require a third party to fill out. Your form is not one of those, that's why we have contacted your provider and everything is settled for you to receive the form.
    I already sent you an email with all the details.  So, please if you can reply to my email or call the office number ************, and ask to get transferred to extension 213, we would be glad to assist regarding everything.

    Brain Health USA is nothing short of a fraudulent telehealth operation. They cannot correctly bill insurance, nor will they provide ME the correct information I need to bill my insurance! Instead they charge me cash pay for some appointments. I have received a surprise $495 charge to my credit card one month without any explanation. It is impossible to actually speak to the billing department; you can only reach the customer service rep and get a promise that the ****** will call you back. I assure you that after ***** calls made, the ****** will NOT call you back.Their entire billing practice is fraudulent and they should be shut down. We have had to scramble to find my daughter an alternative, fortunately her primary care provider was able to help us with alternatives. Do NOT use Brain Health, no matter what.

    The care I received from the doctor was adequate, however if paperwork is needed for anything this office will charge an arm and a leg. Not a Usual, Customary, and Reasonable Fee but ridiculous charges. This is a corporate money grab. Beware!

    Let me just explain that certain paperwork needs to rely on objective data, which can be extracted from certain psychological tests that are performed by a psychologist, to determine the eligibility of the paperwork. Moreover, some types of paperwork, are provided by a third-party provider.

    I had several sessions before I had a mental/emotional breakdown. I quit my job, lost my employer health insurance, and I ran out of meds. This business could care less about your mental health. Once your insurance runs out or you can't pay them out of pocket you are SCREWED. I still don't have mental health services months later and not having meds has been rough. It is amazing to me how this place hasn't been investigated and shutdown.. it is just a hustle as far as I am concerned. D/A (Aug 2023)

    T H ***** T W I C E !!! There is a reason all there answering agents are from out the country. A reason they ONLY do online calls. A reason they only give you 15 minutes. A reason they put you on their plan and listen to your input.. 15 minutes isn't enough time to give your own input to anyone especially to a "dr" in charge of your mental health.. for reals think twice - you are only turnover to them.Because of how poorly I was treated by this entity I am personally making sure I leave my thorough reviews of this entity everywhere I can. Not only did this company take advantage of how desperate I was and steal $370 dollars from me but for months I was mis diagnosed and not listened to and for those months I couldn't even work.Over promise & under perform.. They treat you at their best interest! Not yours.. You ARE just turnover to them not a patient. Not only I am furious about the months I was missed diagnosed and misled by their dr but they also entered me into a "program" said to be proven to help patients as desperate as I am at the cost of $370... There was no program.. I got a 1x a week 5 minute video check up without any sort of actual professional help...Anybody ever even spoken to "***************"? The person supposedly running brainhealthusa??? Real question, anyone?

    Secondly, we -truly- are having providers who see patients in time interval of 15 minutes... This is for psychiatry (or we can call it: *********************** so the provider here will check with you the medication status, if there are any side effects, if you need to adjust anything related to them. However, we also have other psychiatrists who can see patients for longer intervals, in addition to, psychologists or therapists, who will listen to all your daily issues in details, teach you some coping techniques to get better every day... These appointments (Talk Therapy Sessions) could last for an Hour. We'll be glad to accommodate you in any of them, according to your preferences.

    Thirdly, regarding the (Ketamine Treatment), the one for $370, which is not covered by the insurance, it is a very known treatment used to help improve the symptoms along with other medications in some cases. For all psychiatric medications, it's about trial, so you and me could be having the same illness and the same medication could work perfectly for you and not me at all. It is all because of genetic and body differences.
