      I filed a complaint against Schumacher Cargo Logistics in 2021 because they charged me $5,590 for air shipping items from *********** to ****** that were never shipped. They had bullied me into paying for this shipment in advance, yet refuse to refund it. The items remained from when they received them from another shipper (who didn't tell me in advance of the transfer) until I picked them up from their shabby ******* warehouse in 2022, paying in full for the storage for that time.Their BBB answers included irrelevancies and untruths. I still want my $5,590 refunded and will never, never work with this company again.Considering the overwhelming number poor reviews to this company, I fail to understand how they receive an A+ rating.

      A "1" is too good for Schumacher. They were a nightmare from the beggining. They have totaly unfair business practices. Wheras they stack my boxes on top of one another on their truck, but in their warehouse they spread them out so that they take up more space thus charging me more. I have irreplaceable items that are missing - I think they went missing from my storage unit. They just put glass items in boxes without wrapping them. They altered government documents. They gave out incorrect information regarding Customs requirements causing me to spend thousands of dollars to return to the US in order to obtain and ************* They list their reviews at 4.5, yet most other places that I've looked have them between 1.5 and 2. Also, they don't allow you to make a review on their site - thus they control the narrative and make the numbers better. I'm currently trying to negotiate with their CEO, ***********************, but he's a bully. My $4200 estimate has currently cost me a total of $14,000. They refuse to discuss this or admit their wrongs. They just don't reply. I've gone 10 days and 12 emails without so much as a response. I believe it's because I'm a middle-aged female. I'm not giving up. They need to be made accountable for their actions.

      I contracted with Schumacher Cargo Logistics for a small load shipment (LCL) of household items from Europe. Not a 100% positive experience with this company and I would not use them again if I needed to ship something internationally. The good: Prompt initial response to my request. The sales rep was knowledgeable and asked good questions. Very good communication from other employees as well. Pick up by their ************** was great; movers arrived on time and were very careful with my items. They accommodated a split delivery to two different addresses in different states and delivery was very professional by both teams. Overall time from pickup to delivery was just over 12 weeks.The bad: Final invoice was 22% more than the estimate. I expected it to be a bit higher since there is no control over how the partner will pack the items but thought a 22% increase was unreasonable. I was left completely on my own when dealing with the partner and had to provide the same info and paperwork again to them. No support from SCL at all until the shipment arrived in the US, beyond providing the contact info for the partner. While the furniture was well protected, the packing of small fragile items was completely inadequate. It was pure luck that nothing was broken, e.g., boxes not filled to the top with packing material and some fragile items wrapped with a single sheet of paper or not at all. I wish I had saved money and packed everything myself. There was no good option for insuring my small load shipment of relatively low monetary value; not even complete loss could be covered.

      Moved back to ** from ********* and unfortunately, Schumacher was the ** destination agent partnered by the relocation company we contracted in *********. At first, they charged me unexpected surcharge saying its the final invoice which the items listed didnt even match up to the total of $850. However, they were holding my shipment hostage and saying they will not deliver unless full payment is made, I paid even though the bills not substantiated. After the delivery, I got another bill for services they never provided (piano handling). I hired my own piano movers to unload the piano crate from the container, uncrate it and set it up. Id never let regular mover to handle my piano. They claim they are the ones unloaded the piano and moved it inside which is a downright lie. I have the invoice and receipt from my piano movers stating otherwise and they are a reputable local company. What they want is outrageous $675 for unloading a piano even if they are entitle to it. And the bills continue to come. They added more to that supposedly final bill. They never answer my questions and always tell me to talk to the origin agent in ********* even though they are billing me directly. This is not an ethical company. Stay away, avoid them at all cost.

      Schumacher has poor customer service, doesn't return phone calls, huge delays in the deliveries, charges ****% on credit card payments and worst of all, tacks on extortioner fees that were not part of the original contract. Avoid at all costs.

      This company is a total disaster. Shipping of my car from LA to Europe took more than half a year. They lied to me upfront that they cannot ship RoRo and convinced to use a shared container format. Then, once they had my car on their lot, nothing at all happened for four months. I could not see any interest on their part to make the shipment work in a reasonable time. The manager of my project - Christian Mager ignored most of my e-mails, occasionally giving me childish excuses about vacation or sickness. If you believe Mr. *****, e-mail forwarding or "out of office" replies are not yet invented at Schumacher CVargo Logistics. Overall, this gentleman made a distinct impression of laziness and arrogance. Eventually, when I found the e-mail of his boss and started complaining, RoRo shipment became possible but, of course, instead of reimbursing me for the cheaper mode of transportation, they charged almost half a thousand me more. My advice to anybody considering shipping a car from West Coast to Europe is to stay away from these guys.

      This is a preliminary review pending the receipt of my shipped items (car + boxes) from US to Europe. Mostly i am writing this to remind my fellow reviewers that the BBB is here to mediate complaints and you should absolutely lodge a formal complaint if you want resolution. That is what I intend to do if i don't at least get some sort of response soon. As others said, they're very helpful/responsive until you pay; afterwards it becomes much harder to successfully contact anyone. Everything was arranged in early July, but (partially because of the relatively rural pick-up location) the vehicle was not collected until mid-August, which i only know because my people at the pick-up told me). There is a global shipping crisis + it seemed that my vehicle was #3 of 4 in the sipping container, so I waited until late November to call and ask for an update. I actually did speak to someone, they said they would email me the status, but they did not. I called again, called the 'main' offices, left a few messages, have yet to get a response. Again, i know there's shipping delays; i don't mind waiting, but i do mind the absolute lack of communication/updates. Even just a 'hasn't shipped, check again in a month' would be sufficient. They can't email me an update but they found time to employ a third party (Shopper Approved) to ask if i received my items in mid-October. Honestly, the lack of update, coupled with several of their main phone numbers being out of service, are making me question the legitimacy of this business.

      I had a terrible experience with Schumacher and it's partnering company. They damaged my 2017 Ford Shelby gt350. And could not give me an explanation of how the hood of my vehicle was damaged.

      They refused to be accountable for their mistakes.

      I would never want anyone to experience something like this with a shipping company. Also would not give them any stars in the rating.

      This is the initial email I sent to Schumacher but they continued not to do anything about the dent on my hood.

      �Good morning Evelyn, Erika, Dardo and Christian,

      Yesterday, I met with Bart from Dardo import /export before inspecting and picking up my vehicle at Robbyns, the shipping and receiving company that was used to receive my Silver 2017 Ford Shelby GT350. When I arrived at Robbyns, I met with Thibo and he went to the warehouse to pick up my vehicle to drive it to the front entrance parking lot. When I saw my vehicle I was shocked and immensely disappointed to see the extreme scratches and large dent on the hood of my vehicle; also was ****** to see thar the grill was broken. See the attached pictures of the damages that were incurred during the shipping process.

      Dropped off my car at the port of Savannah Georgia on May 21st in perfect condition. When I received my vehicle at Antwerp it was terribly damaged. I am extremely outraged for the terrible experience I had with this company. This kind of service is highly unacceptable and unprofessional. You can obviously see the way the vehicle was positioned under the wooden box in the shipping container clearly shows that the wooden box caused the damage to my vehicle.

      I WANT AN EXPLANATION AND ALSO NEED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE DAMAGES CAUSED TO MY VEHICLE.

      The front hood of my vehicle was terribly dented and scratched; also the grill was broken. I did not receive my vehicle in the same condition it was in when I dropped it off at the port of Savannah GA.

      My experience of having my vehicle shipped with Schumacher and Robbyns has been unprofessional and disastrous. When I tried to contact the representative through Schumacher, I did not get a response right away and it took a long time for some representatives to get back to me. I was not even notified when my vehicle arrived to Antwerp Belgium. If it wasn't for me reaching out, I might have not received any notification to let me know my vehicle arrived. When I reached out to find out the status of my vehicle, my vehicle was at the Robbyns warehouse for 2 weeks. I always ask myself, how did my vehicle stay in a warehouse for 2 months without an inspection to make sure there wasn't any damages to my vehicle.

      The below reflects my experience with an international move from the UK to the US. Absolutely dreadful experience. I did not choose to use SCL, rather they were the destination agent selected by the company in the UK I signed a contract with. They were criminally slow to update me or respond to emails, and I did not receive my goods for 5 months after my move (when I was originally quoted 8-12 weeks). Further to this, each person you deal with has no sense or urgency or understanding of customer service. They are clearly just punching the clock and do not care an ounce about their customers. Also, a total lack of any problem solving ability. They had my email address wrong by 1 letter... that letter being the first letter of my first name. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together and make the adjustment. They also have hidden fees. They charged me a $350 fee for a shuttle service without telling me ahead of time. To be fair, there's fine print in the contract about this, but wouldn't it be nice to deal with honest people who have integrity, instead of corporate paper pushers who with no ability to empathize or communicate? Avoid at ALL costs.
