Today at 4:10 I contacted the business in regards to moving my vehicle back that they towed. I spoke to a gentleman in the vehicle and in the vehicle was a staff member by the name of ******. I encountered ****** today. He said though that was said, they do not do that, and if I dont move my car itll get towed. He was very unprofessional and as I ensured that I listen and allowed him to speak, he didnt do the same. The moment I referenced the legal obligation of the staff member agreeing to moving my car back, ****** asserted he was there and that though that was said, for me to contact my property management, who asked me to contact them. He hung up on me twice. At no time was I confrontational. Very calm actually. I knew he was upset once I mentioned my cat he knew exactly who I was. And so I would like a follow up about my vehicle and its relocation BACK to my property management where I reside and where it was taken from.Thank you.

January 14th, 2025 around 4:00am PST, my car which was a 2014 **** Focus license plate number ******* in ******, ********** was illegally towed by West Coast Towing. I just became a resident at my apartment complex and am entitled to the parking spot per my apartment complex's lease agreement to park in the spot West Coast Towing is claiming wasn't mine and is withholding my vehicle until i pay what they are requesting. I've already filed a police report of the incident to my local authorities. They are claiming they have photographic proof of my car in the wrong spot but will not show me, although i parked in the spot assigned to me as a resident

Your vehicle was towed by a written request of the person who's spot your vehicle was wrongfully parked in.  The tenant, who had lawful possession of the stall, signed the form to have your vehicle removed from their assigned parking spot.  We verified the tenants paperwork and identification to make sure they where the rightful person who was assigned the spot your vehicle was wrongfully parked in.  Once we verified the documentation and the tenant signed the document requesting to have your vehicle removed we did so.  Your vehicle was not illegally towed.  It was removed by the signed request of the tenant who stall your vehicle was parked in.  Nothing was refused to you, nor are your statements correct on this situation.

West Coast Towing towed my car from my girlfriend's apartment complex. I was parked in the visitor parking as required by the lease.West coast towing 1. Towed my car on a Saturday night and is not open on Sundays for me to access my car. 2. There's only one sign and it says "Visitor Parking" no other posted signs at the apartment complex. 3. They stated the car was towed due to being parking there for 4 days in a row. We have proof that the car was moved. It was towed on a Saturday, he works Monday-Friday so at the bare minimum it wasn't 4 days. 4. Even if they wanted to tow based off the 24 hour rule it's a private parking spot with no posted signs. The picture shows where the car was parked right next to the black car. No signs posted at my apartment complex to tow.

We understand it is frustrating getting your vehicle towed for not following the complex rules.  Most of the rules for the property are listed in the lease as well advised at the time the lease or rental agreements are signed.  Without knowing which vehicle this is related to I could not give a specific correct answer to your complaint.  Our clients are the property owners and or management where the vehicles are towed from.  We do not provide a service to the person being towed, but the service is for the property and their rules for parking.

On 02/16/2025 West Coast Towing illegally towed my legally parked vehicle at 7am. I was legally parked and my vehicle is registered. My car was parked in front of complex cameras and they took it and reported to police it was illegally parked. This company is notorious for these tactics to scam people for money. I already contacted the police and they suggested a law suit. West coast towing did not answer the phone either and I have not been able to get information about the vehicle.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/17/2025

Without knowing what property you where towed from or information about your vehicle I can not respond to your direct statement.  However, there where three vehicles towed on the date and around the time you indicated.  One was a white van parked in a handicap parking stall with no handicap placard hanging or see in the vehicle, or a handicap license plates.  This would be a violation of the property rules parking in a handicap without displaying a placard.

A black vehicle that was towed from another location, was towed for double parking taking one stall and a part of another. Which would be a violation of the property rules.

Another black vehicle was towed at a different location, was towed for being double parked.  Parked in a stall and partially in another, with the vehicle being on wheel stands that appeared to be doing mechanical work.  Where with this tow there are two violations of property rules with being double parked and on stands unattended in its appearance of maintenance or being inoperable.

We understand having your vehicle towed for violating the rules of private property can be frustrating.  However, our service is maintaining the parking rules for the private property owner.  So they do not get fines or cited by the city or county for their parking lots not being maintained in good order. Such as fire lanes kept clear, handicap stalls being used by vehicles that have handicap plates and or placards being displayed in plain view, vehicles are registered and in good working order (City does not allowed no operable, unregistered to be stored on property).  So performing our service for our clients is not "a tactic to scam peoples money".  It is performing the job our clients require us to do to reduce chance of their property getting sited, or let their parking lot get out of functioning order.

I live in an apartment complex that has a contract with West Coast Towing. My truck was parked in a designated parking spot, but they claimed it was illegally parked and towed it. Ive noticed that West Coast Towing does not comply with regulations in the state of **********. They engage in predatory practices, driving around with their tow truck looking for vehicles to tow. Ive seen them tow vehicles that were only loading or unloading. West Coast Towing often tows cars without authorization from the manager.I have a witness who saw that my truck was parked legally. I was able to retrieve my truck without paying a fee because I spoke with the manager and showed her a photo of where my truck was parked. When I went to the West Coast Towing office, I found the staff to be very rude. There was only one employee working to assist six or seven people at a time, and it took them about 45 minutes to process each impounded vehicle. Please investigate west coast business.

My vehicle was towed on February 4,2024 at 1:25 am. I was literally in my house for 1 minute. My ring doorbell can prove it. I want to get in my car and it was gone. I called FPD to report my car stolen. I almost 15 minutes for dispatch to take my call. They informed me it was towed. I called the tow truck driver he insisted that I was parked for 15 minutes. WHEN IN FACT I WASNT. And I got proof. He made a failed police report saying I was parked for 15 minutes. My battery was switched out. The battery I had was a Duralast the one that was in my car was an AC Delco. It needed to be jumped so I could leave the tow yard. My batter was good an had left the inside light on before. And it started up fine. Had to buy a new one for $211. My car died on me Monday evening. Payed $100 to tow to my aunts house. The Cadillac converter was glowing red. There is no reason for the Cadillac converter to not have even dirt all over it. In the pic you can see someone touched. I have no reason to touch it or anyone else for that matter. Missing dust on Cadillac Converter. The one in my car now. Is not mine %100 sure. I had a radiator leak and had radiator fluid all over everything under the hood. The on in my car shows no sign of a leaking radiator. I know this because I replaced my radiator myself. The only thing that was wrong with my car. Was the motor mounts. It was running fine. I have a diagnostic report done in August that shows there was nothing wrong with my Cadillac converter. I took it to the dealership I bought it from *********************************. Your tow truck driver is a liar. I wasnt parked for 15 minutes. The mechanic said that a Cadillac converter just doesnt go out like that and he knew my car was running perfectly fine.. your tow truck driver mustve been sitting there waiting for me or anybody to tow. . There is shady business going on with in your company.

Vehicle lower control arm broke in car port of non vacant apt. Impossible to move vehicle due to control arm not being attached. I assembled all parts finger tight and put the tire back on. I lowered the **** to where the tire was just off the ground. I ended about 2am and before 3am a tow truck came and took the car. He said I was Double parked. I explained how I was given permission by management and he responded Ole-well $495 by 2:15 the same day. This was at 4:30 am so the price seemed ridiculously high being it was there for 2 and a half hrs. The driver was very rude and unconcerned. I asked for the owners info so I can have management reach out and was denied. I explained that I would be having my lawyer contact them and he said theres no way an attorney would take my case. Very unprofessional. They are scamming low income families. No Signs posted about How to park and it not in the lease agreement.

We understand having your vehicle towed for not following the rule set up by the property management and ownership can be frustrating.  The enforcement of these rules has nothing to do with income or who or what you where doing prior to towing the vehicle.  As we empathize with your situation, but we are required to take care of the property as instructed.

The information and rules on parking for your property are in your leasing packet (Usually) when you sign to agree to follow them.  However, that is not the towing company responsibility.  There are signs posted at each entrance as required by law.  But they would not list every rule you are to follow while using the parking lot of the property.

As far as the phone taker we will review the recorded lines and if our staff member was out of line follow our guidelines to address any issues.  No matter how rude or disrespectful individuals get with us on the phone after their vehicle gets towed for violating private property rules we should always be professional.

Read all the Yelp reviews this business is a scam on low income families. I received approval from the manager at an apartment to park while I babysat the tenant child. This Tow company goes and seeks any reason to tow without the complex approval. They tow’d my vehicle. When I followed them to have it taken out. They refused to let me get into the vehicle to get my registration. They would not even let me get my babies belongings. They wanted my car another day to make a profit. Please look into them. I even called and spoke with call center and they said they should have let me get my things out. The man was cussing and unprofessional. I have to get it taken out now for the amount of my paycheck.

We understand getting your vehicle towed for not following the rules of the property can be frustrating.  We work with our clients the property management or owner of the property to assure we follow their guidelines as well as the law that governs the our industry.  I also understand it is easy to assume about our services based on the reviews we get, but our reviews are not from our clients the property owners or management of the property.  They are from the persons who have violated the rules and guidelines of the properties parking and their vehicle was towed for that reason.  When parking on private property it is always best the rules are followed so your vehicle does not get towed.  If management was involved as you stated they would have contacted us to let us know to correct the issue.  As far as entering your vehicle we are not allowed to have anyone enter our yard per our licensing during the hours of business, we have to follow our set rules.

As it is with all complaints that come through for our company, a majority of the time the person complaining is not a client, customer or a consumer of our company.  We service private property parking for commercial properties.  The ownership or management of those properties are clients, customer and consumer for our business.  Not the person who violated the private property rules of the parking lot.  In regards to this complaint we work hand in hand with our clients and if a vehicle was towed off a property in error the management or property owner will call us and the vehicle is returned with no charges to the owner/possessor of the vehicle towed.

With that said in review of this tow, the vehicle was found to be in violation of the set property rules for where you live.  We also found that we where not directed to return the vehicle from the management or ownership of the property at the time of the tow.  We understand the struggles of the times we are in as well empathize with you.  However, we are hire to do a job to assure our clients do not get city by the city or county for not keeping their parking lot within code of operation.
