On 9/24/21 I ordered 4 Haussmann Original Wood Twist Stools in ************* from amazon.com (ORDER # ***-3932742-2832266). The description stated that the color was Grey and the finish was White. The fine print did say that there may be variations, however, the stools that arrived were GREEN. Nowhere did the description say the customer may get an entirely different color. Their return policy states that the customer would be responsible for return shipping unless "their was some error on our part" so I requested a return with return shipping paid on the basis that the description stated and showed grey when the product was green. I attempted to resolve the issue with the seller directly but they said the description was fine and that I would be responsible for the shipping ~$300 if I wanted to return the stools because they were not at fault. I then contacted Amazon, who agreed that the description misrepresented the product and would require that Haussmann change it but could not require they pay for return shipping since they were an independent seller. One day later, Haussmann did change the description (though I would argue it still misrepresents the color of the product, but less so) see the attached before and after description pictures. If they description was not incorrect, why did they feel the need to change it? If the description was incorrect, why did they not feel that constitutes an error on their part and reimburse for the shipping charges?In addition, they charged a restocking fee, which they should not have done because the stools were returned in their original shipping containers- not one of them was even removed from the original packaging b/c the color was so far off, I just taped the first one right back up and never opened the others.
