My air conditioning system is less than 8 years old. When It stopped cooling, the tech Anderson sent started off by telling me all the things that could be wrong, rather than trouble shooting the issue. When he finally got to it, he spent at least *************************************************** with his assessment.. He suggested a myriad of options ranging from $3000 to over $10,000 then said the minimum cost to get it cooling again would be $1300.00!I got an honest A/C company to do the repair for $400.00. The system is working perfectly now. This company should have their business license revoked. They train their techs on how to overcharge those of us that put our faith in them.

In mid-May an Anderson Plumbing Heating and Air representative arrived to evaluate an ongoing odor in my home that could only be detected in the evenings. The ** representative indicated the dirty sock smell associated with air conditioners was the source even though the smell could not be detected at the time, unit was 18 months old and not being run. He indicated installing an ionization unit would alleviate the odor. I continually emphasized I was on a fixed income and could not afford $2400 on a maybe. I was told ** sure this will fix your smell. It did not. I called and asked for a manager and was told I would receive a call within two days. Six weeks later I am still waiting.******** were next. They insisted the plumbing needed to be hydro-jetted (even though camera showed no blockage), toilets be removed, reseated on the wax seals and all drains cleared for $3400 and then if that did not work they would do a smoke test for free. I said it made more sense to me to do the smoke test then repair any leaks indicated. The plumbers adopted a very condescending attitude, repeatedly told me we are the experts, and it would cost me more if I did that as I would pay $800 for the smoke test then have to pay the $3400 for a total of $4200. I gave a private negative review in response to a company email that would be seen only by company representatives something I have never done before and found very difficult to do. Received an email indicating customer service would contact me. Weeks later I am still waiting for that call as well.I knew this company was more expensive than others but was drawn to the level of integrity and customer service I had experienced in the past.I find it sad that this company has devolved into a company that hires staff totally lacking in integrity and will no longer address customer concerns. No integrity, no customer service and sadly, after many, many years, no longer a customer.

On May 19 I had an appointment with Anderson Heating and Plumbing to do the $59 AC check up. They were on time and I believe thorough but the $59 checkup turned into a bill for $517!! I needed a capacitor which sells for approximately $133. National average to have this installed is $170-$300. $400 is considered high. I believe that Anderson does a great disservice to their customers by using their flat rate instead of listing the separate parts and labor. And yes, I agreed to their tiny disclosure print about the flat rate use when the tablet was stuck under my nose for a signature. They do not offer senior discounts but come into a senior park expecting us to pay this size bill and told that our AC unit will no longer work without the part. And, of course, they are ALWAYS trying to upsell something. I feel I was duped into their monthly payment fee and taken advantage of. This last visit was the second attempt by ******** to make me smile. The first time I tried them the technician could not find my house so he just left the complex. No one bothered calling to tell me they could not find my residence. Not good customer service. I do not recommend ********************** at all.

Good morning ************, I received both of your reviews, **************************** *************** on these platforms as well as an email to you. I want to contact you directly to apologize that you feel duped into anything, as that is certainly not our goal, nor the outcome we want to present. In reading your review- we do offer Senior discounts, and yet the technician did not apply one. We also have a third party form for our clients that *** want to confer with someone on their purchase- this was not offered. And if you did not want the *** maintenance program, that should not have been the option closed on. For all of this- I do sincerely apologize. I absolutely understand that your research found that the price we quote was above the average, on the high side- however please do take into account the warranties and quality of the product and technician that we offer. Your warranty is 5 years part and labor. Your technician was thoroughly background checked upon accepting employment with Anderson PHA (criminal/driving/pedophile.) All technicians who enter your home from **, are employed by **. Insured, and carry a 100% client satisfaction guarantee. With all of this said, I have discounted your invoice, and I have canceled your *** maintenance agreement. In turn I have to reduce the warranty to 2 years parts and labor. If you need any assistance, call on me directly & I will make sure that you are taken care of. I will email your revised invoice once the refund has been processed on our end. Thank you for your time. If you have any questions or further concerns, again, please do contact me directly. Sincerely, ***************************** ************ Client Relations Manager Anderson PHA

I called Anderson to replace my kitchen faucet. When looking online I expected the replacement faucet to cost $300-400. When the plumber arrived he found that some of the shut off valves under the sink were faulty and he provided me a quote for the replacing the valves and faucet. The quote for the faucet was $1310 and another $600 for the valve replacement. The plumber and I looked at the replacement faucet which was in his van and when we went to the manufacturers website online we identified what we thought was the identical model which cost around $600.At the suggestion of the plumber (who was very good) I phoned his manager and asked how it was possible to have around a $700 mark up on the faucet. She called me back and said that Anderson would give a $ 645 discount on the work bringing the overall cost down to $1250. I agreed to this and the work was done and paid for. A couple of days later I again looked at the faucet manufacturers website and it became quickly apparent to me that the replacement faucet which was installed could be obtained for $325. My complaint relates firstly to the gross overcharging for the faucet- almost $1000 over cost although I understand that labor and other overheads need to be accounted for. The fact that the manager who I spoke to quickly came back with a discount suggests to me that what I experienced is not a unique occurrence. When I phoned Anderson back with my complaint that despite the initial discount , I was still paying a large amount of money for valve replacement, I was told that there was nothing more that Anderson were prepared to do

I had a new toilet installed. The tech actually told me he had to ask older people if someone else's permission was needed for work to be done. I was furious. The rep I talked to on the phone said they have to do this because of dementia concerns with older customers. I was even more livid. I've been a customer for over 10 years and have had a water heater and A/C installed, a slab leak fixed, and had regular HVAC inspections from Anderson for years and never been asked this. I have a PhD, work as a medical writer, own my own home, and am definitely not suffering from dementia. I will never call Anderson for any kind of service again. The phone rep didn't care that they were losing a long term customer.

**************, We do apologize that presenting you with our 3rd party form has upset you, as that is certainly not our intention. We have had this form implemented for many years- and just recently have discussed this to be a policy to be presented to our clients. We have had incidents where we have been contacted by family members who were unaware of a service being performed at a home relatives home or our client does not remember signing for work. We implemented this form as protection for our senior clients and those who may be vulnerable. This is a way of looking out for our clients- making sure they do not want or need to speak to someone else before making a decision or purchase. It is in no way to be taken as an insult, on the contrary, we have added this form to show that we are being proactive, and not ******* anyone into a service they may not need, can't afford, or have any questions about what is being presented to them. The form merely asks if our client would like to contact someone to consult with, or have us contact someone on their behalf. This is a Yes or No answer, completed with a signature. It does not violate any personal information, does not ask to disclose any disabilities, does not ask for age or any explanation of their situation.again, only asking/offering for them to discuss the work, cost, or the necessity for the work suggested with someone else.We do wish you all the best, and again apologize for offending you **************. Sincerely, ***************************** Client Relations Manager Anderson Plumbing **************************** ************

I've been a customer of yours for over ten years, and have NEVER, EVER been presented with this form. Your assumption that anyone over a specific age needs to get permission from a third party to have work done is demeaning and nasty. I will not be calling Anderson again for any work. You're concerned about my memory? Rest assured that I'll remember your "third party policy" for the rest of my life. Your policy is discriminatory. Incidentally, age discrimination is against the law.

      Date: 05/05/2023

Addendum to previous comment: Your form doesn't ask for an age, but the technician said he had to present the form because I'm an older client. That is age discrimination.

If you're so concerned about people contracting for work without consulting a third party who would have to approve the work being done, why not make people in their 20s sign this paper? They might be living in Mom and Dad's home and need their permission. How about people in their thirties or forties who might have early-onset dementia or a traumatic brain injury? If you have to have this vile piece of paper signed, then ask EVERYONE to sign it. That way you're not being offensive to a specific age group. You're probably not going to listen to anything I say, but sometime one of your techs is going to say, "You have to sign this because you're older" (That's about as much tact as your technician used the other day.) to someone with the clout to do something about your discriminatory practices.

My 90 year old mom's heater went out as she was recovering from hip surgery and I needed help fast. They were very kind and professional, BUT told me it would cost $5000. to repair the furnace and I might as well replace it for $11,000. I had two other professionals from other companies look at it. They both said the quotes from Anderson were ridiculous, even unethical. It was repairs (parts and labor) for $580.The extreme overpricing and unselling IS unethical. This company should not be allowed to have a BBB stamp until they correct their pricing and selling tactics.

We initially had three positive experiences clearing drains. We subsequently used the company for a new garbage disposal, water heater, and work on our air conditioner. For the amount of time and parts, I have buyers remorse. I stopped using them when they gave a quote on an HVAC way over any other estimate.

My daughter called to have the cap of the water filter removed and look at why was leaking, the technician ****, immediately told me he did not like the salt water softener system, they were bad even for your plumbing and told me he can sell and install what they sell, I said not interested, this water filtration system is new and cost around $5000 and told he was not going to touch it, I was not going to make him do anything. And insisted he could sell me a new better system. Disgraceful!!
