Wade Nielsen and his crew were magnificent, and I don't use that word lightly. We own a custom home on the rim of Butte Creek Canyon--where the elements can be brutal--and we were looking for an exterior makeover that would renew, revitalize, and protect our one-of-a-kind property. The house sits on a steep slope at the edge of the bluff, making for some precarious and demanding work conditions, so the project required experienced professionals. We welcomed 3 well-respected local paint/restoration companies to give us bids for this large project, and in the end the choice was obvious. Wade visited our property 3 times, with some of his crew, prior to finalizing his fair-priced bid. He gave us detailed suggestions on how to achieve the final product we were hoping for, recommending things we hadn't thought of, and gently steering us away from things that weren't necessary. In the end, the scope of the project was more than our original plan but the results exceeded our highest expectations. The exterior painting was done methodically and with precision prep work. (Wade and the crew came to the house several times to sample paint colors, to be sure we got the color scheme we wanted.) The outcome is exceptional, and exactly what we wanted. Wade masterfully refinished three over-sized, custom oak doors and they look incredible. (He even had his crew take some extra time to refinish several window and door casings that had shown sun damage, in order to match the door finish.) At his suggestion, we chose to refinish our two large wooden decks, one of which is Brazilian hardwood that thrusts over the canyon edge, with 2 decades of exposure to the elements. He had the decks glass-bead-blasted and his crew immediately oiled them. The results are spectacular and now both decks are showcases. Afterwards, they painstakingly repainted hundreds of feet of wrought iron railing that wraps the decks. Wade and his crew took their time, never rushing any aspect, and they delivered an extraordinary result--not a penny over his original bid. Honestly, we could not have asked for a better experience.
