On 7/8/2024 I left my car at Maaco to be painted. I had gotten a quote about 2weeks earlier but had mentioned I wanted to add a body kit first. I was told to bring in the kit and if the body *** could do it they would add it to the quote. I ordered something simple and brought it in on 7/8/24, the body *** said he could do it and I paid $956 that day and left my car. A week went by and they said they were having trouble with the body kit so I told them to forget it and just paint the car because I needed my vehicle back. Every day I called after that I was told oh it will be painted tomorrow or the *** you did the contract with isnt here today. Finally on 7/18/2024 I was called around noon and told my car was ready. I gave them an extra 2-3hrs before making my way to the shop, and still when I got there it took 30 minutes to get my car. The work was sloppy they painted my window borders, taillights and even my muffler. I explained my dissatisfaction and the response was well in our contract it says there may be overspray I had my son with me so I paid $757.24 took my car and emailed corporate but aside from saying they would look into it I have been ignored. I have the emails and pictures I sent them with proof my car was painted last minute. I can share all with you if you would like but have limitations on the site so providing the worst damage and proof of my car not being ready the day before I was told it was ready. Literally less than 24hrs from pick up, so I know the job was rushed. I also have video footage from dash cam.Business Response

The world is a worse place to live in because cheaters and liars like the people who work at this Maaco exist.Don't make a mistake by coming here, going out of pocket thousands of dollars to be LIED to constantly and have poor work done even if you pay for their Class A lifetime warranty work. They will do a worse job when doing the warranty work after doing a bad job the first time. Finally, they are brazen and habitual liars, it really hurts you personally how poorly and disrespectfully they treat you.I paid for Class A insurance quality collision spot repair, that comes with a lifetime warranty. After the first repair, they did not fix a dent in my door, instead of simply acknowledging the issue THEY LIED AND SAID THEY FIXED A DIFFERENT DENT, which did not exist. The second time they took the car back, they promised to redo the work and fix the areas appropriately. Instead what I got back WAS WORSE THAN THE FIRST TIME. They oversprayed paint on to my taillights, on to the window moldings and left paint drips where they resprayed the vehicle. THEY LIED AND TOLD ME THEY REMOVED THESE PARTS BEFORE SPRAYING AND CHARGED ME FOR THE REMOVAL OF THESE ITEMS FRAUDULENTLY. The quality of the work is terrible, if you run your hand over the repaired and resprayed areas you feel ridges in the bodywork, dirt in the paint, and there's visible drips everywhere. The work performed WAS NOT EVEN WARRANTED OR INCLUDED IN THE ESTIMATES. They stripped OEM paint and repainted using terrible techniques, and it was not even supposed to be performed. They deliberately sabotaged my vehicle. I simply paid for a $3000 spot repair of a dent in a fender, they resprayed my door and entire fender to the windshield. Now the vehicle is considered damaged. This is not just a tale of shoddy work, it's an issue of right versus wrong. They were wrong to do my job so poorly, and to then make it worse when given a chance to make it right.Business Response

My truck was painted at this Maaco location in ****** in August of 2022. A few months after the job was completed, I noticed the paint on the hood of the truck started bubbling slightly. With time the issue worsened. I brought the truck back to Maaco in July 2023. The paint job was covered under a three-year warranty, so I was given a repair appointment for September 18, 2023. I asked if I could get an appointment sooner and I was told the shop only handled one warranty repair per week, so I accepted and waited. I was scheduled to drop my truck off for the repair today, Saturday September 16. When I came in and explained why I was there I was told that despite having a copy of the repair order with the appointment for September 18, I would have to reschedule until November because my appointment "had not been put on their calendar." I demanded that they honor the proof of appointment I had with me, but I was denied and told that there was nothing they could do. I spoke to the manager's supervisor over the phone, and she basically told me the same thing. There was no attempt at accommodating my repair sooner despite me having a documented appointment. The hood on my car is now in much worse shape (see attached pictures), with paint peeling in large chunks and rust beginning to spread. This situation would be infuriating enough as is but because my wife and I had expected not to have our truck for a week while it was being repaired, we had made changes to our daily work schedule to compensate for her not having transportation. No one at Maaco made any attempt at accepting responsibility to make sure my car is repaired as soon as possible.Business Response

I agreed on the estimate and brought the vehicle on 04/19/22 the vehicle was to be completed on 04/25/2022.When I picked up the vehicle I noticed various faults in the craftsmanship. I also noticed that various decals and model emblems were removed and not replaced. I brought all this to the managers attention and they promised they would complete the job to my satisfaction and order new emblems and decals to replace. I made several calls to find out when I could take my vehicle and they just gave me the run around and never came through as promised. This customer is not always right and in this case they are 100% wrong and fraudulent. The customer's vehicle never left the facility and I personally spent over 1 hour reviewing video of the vehicle as it moved through production. At no time did the vehicle leave the facility. I shared the photo's of the vehicle in the facility with the customer. The customer is trying to take advantage of a mistake that was made by one of our employees when they entered the mileage of the vehicle into the Point of Sale system. The vehicle has over ******* miles and is experiencing some mechanical failures. The customer is trying to extort money from ********************** to pay for the mechanical failures.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:1. The video that Maaco Lancaster showed didnot proof that the car stay entire 6 days in the workshop. Only fraction of the entire 6 days.
2. Mean while I have proof from AAA and ****** ************ before I drop off my car to Maaco.
3. I'm not the first victim, it's also happened to other people from the ****** reviews.First of all, this whole thing won't take place if Maaco Lancaster has good management. Again I didn't file a complaint to get a free paint job, I totally can afford that, but the way they rob the customer is totally outrageous. Even though my car is 250k miles, it doesn't mean Maaco Lancaster has a right to abuse it.
Sincerely,
