Our ** stopped working in July. Found Greiner Heating & Air Conditioning company online and contacted them. The technician said blower wheel has to be replaced and we paid for it. A couple weeks later, ** stopped working again. We contacted Greiner again. The technician said capacitor needs to be changed and we paid for it. A week later, there was a very loud sound when ** was turned on and we called Greiner and were told that a s**** was loose. Why a s**** was loose? Then, a month later on 9/28, ** stopped working again. It was like exactly same as when the capacitor was broken: thermometer did not work. But the technician said now circuit board needs to be replaced that will cost another $900 plus $89 diagnosis fee. I do not understand that this company came out more than 3 times in 2 months and collected money each time for different problems without explaining any other issues. I complained how they did not explain about general ** condition and the technician mentioned it wasn't him before and the company can reimburse whatever we paid before IF we replace the whole ************ unit from them which will cost $20K. It is like a scam, and feel like the company is taking advantage on me who do not have any knowledge on fixing the ** unit. I would not get help if I knew how to fix it.It was like they come out to fix one thing, and something else stops working after.. Then they come out again, and fix it, then something else breaks down. I'd like to request this company fix the ** w/o any further extra charge or reimburse the money we've paid for.

      Good afternoon,

We originally went to this home on 7/21/2022 for a Free Second Opinion call. Another company had stated the blower wheel needed to be replaced and our technician confirmed this was the case. We ordered a new blower wheel and returned to replace it on 7/26/2022. On our return visit, we tested the system, and everything was working properly, we collected $461 on this visit.

On 8/2/2022, we received a call from the tenant stating the thermostat was not working. Later, the unit started working again, so we did not go out at that time.

On 8/8/2022, we responded to a No Cooling call.We cycled the unit from both thermostats, and it was working; on further diagnosis, we did find that the blower capacitor was out of range. We replaced the capacitor and cycled the unit several more times, we collected $206 for this visit.

On 9/6/2022, we received a call about the unit making a grinding noise. We went out and discovered that the blower wheel set s**** had come loose; we reset the blower wheel and there was no charge for this call.

On 9/24/2022, we received a call that the unit was not coming on. We went out and discovered a piece of zip tie shoved in the terminal on the circuit board holding the wiring in place. We wiggled the terminal and the unit fired up. We recommended a new board or system replacement, as the unit is over 20 years old. We charged a diagnostic fee of $89 for this call.

In our opinion, a technician from another company likely shoved a zip tie in the circuit board on a previous visit. This is a common practice that will help a board with loose terminal connections limp along; eventually, this board would have to be replaced. We do feel that we could have caught the loose terminal sooner, and due to that fact,we will happily apply the $89 diagnostic fee already paid and replace the circuit board with no additional parts or labor costs to you.

We apologize for the repeat service calls to discover a problem that ideally would be found on the first visit!

      Sincerely,

      ***** and the Greiner Team
