I received a call in April, 2021 from Guidance Alum, I had already enrolled in a consolidated loan with the federal government. I was told that I was pre-qualified for student loan forgiveness, but they needed to verify my income/household. I asked to be transferred to a manager to make sure this was a legal company. I filled out a 45 page application and told I was approved. I was told I had to enter into a 24 month contract after getting approved. The first five months I was required to pay $200 totaling $1000 for them completing my loan consolidation application. There after I would start the 24 month term with a monthly fee $99. It was explained to me that the benefits included student loan forgiveness, legal representation and document and agreement review. I was required to provide pay stubs and two references. Guidance Alum would complete the annual recertification process for repayment on my behalf during the 24 month term I then received a text and email on 3/31/22 saying payments are being stopped due to the CARE act. On 9/15/23 I received notification in the mail from Aidvantage which is the ********** of ********* Loan Servicing that the pause has ended and now I owe the full amount of my loan. I immediately called Guidance Alum. I get disconnected after two rings. I had another phone number for customer service which is now disconnected. I called Aidvantage and was told I was scammed. I want my money back and feel so humiliated that this happened to me.

I called the number they left in my voicemail. A woman answered "Student Recovery, Before We proceed I need to ask you some questions." I said What was the name of the company? She repeated Student Recovery. I asked if they were a government entity, she said they were a private company. I repeated "private company" and she hung up on me. I called back and asked for a website. She hung up on me again. I called once more and got (her husband?) who gave me studentadvisory.com as their website (same as in other comments here). He asked if I had a student loan, I said my kids did. He said then I should probably have them call, and hung up before I could utter another word. Website is dead. Guidancealumteam.com is also a dead website. If they respond that they took care of my concerns, don't believe it. I masked my number when I called so they have no earthly idea who called or who I am. I have done no business with them, nor will I. Very very obvious scam. Scammy answers to complaints too. SMH. T
