      On 4/21/2023 I called Experian about my membership which I paid and wasn't able to log in. upon calling I noticed they had a fraud alert on my account of which I've called numerous times and they assured me would be taken off I've went through they verification process several times. which they made me go through again today to say that my answers are not me, this is very frustrating as to have this on my report, and me obtaining credit, I would like this to be rectified , expeditiously if possible, as this is a sever hinderance to my everyday life , and shouldn't have to keep taking verification to something I verified previously and they said would be corrected.

      Our records indicate you enrolled in our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership on February 23, 2023.  That same date you upgraded the membership to our Experian CreditWorksSM Premium membership and this membership is still active.

      Our records indicate you have spoken to our agents several times about removing your fraud alert from your credit file.  However, for ** to remove that fraud alert, you must pass verification.  Our records indicate this has not happened.  Our agent reached out to you today, May 10,2023, and left two phone voicemails.  You will need to respond to those voicemails for assistance in removing your fraud alert.

      This complaint is against Experian ID Works which is part of Experian Credit Services. It is against the Supervisor of Experian, the Supervisor of Experian ID Restoration ********************, and my Experian ID Restoration Specialist. De'Arrin. Due to a Data Breach by ************ Integrated Medicine. Experian ID Restoration was contracted to help with my iD Restoration and Recovery. All my personal information was placed on the World Wide Web for everyone to see, for a period of time. This has created much havoc in my life I've experienced Emails to be hacked, passwords changed, credit cards unauthorized by myself opened, other credit Accounts opened. Fraudulent charges on Credit Cards of thousands of dollars, ***** fraudulent inquiries on my Credit Report, attempts to get house mortgage loans, my checking and retirement accounts drained, and many other items too numerous to mention. This has created total havoc in my life, My training is in Psychiatry and Psychology. No training in Identity theft and ********************. Yet I have been required to do most all the work in an area in which I have no training in. I'm very dissatisfied with the services of Experian ID Restoration ********************. I have attempted to go to the Supervisor of Experian, and the Supervisor of Experian ID Works. and have asked for their name and contact info. from my ID Restoration Specialist, and with several requests, have simple been ignored.

      I canceled my subject with experian the day it switched over to a paid account due to not being reminded before hand, I was left with no way to cancel immediately and am being forced to keep the subscription for this month, this is my gas money as I only have 173 dollars until may 1st, reached out to experian for a refund and 3 days later I get an email stating nothing can be done and I am stuck with paying for something I tried to give back since it says cancel anytime. Every company that sales a product has a return policy except the credit monitoring? This is unacceptable

      I was alerted to the fact that someone had opened up a credit card under my name, revealing that this person had stolen my identity due to a data breach. I contacted all three credit bureaus and created free accounts to monitor my credit. I also placed a freeze on each of my credit reports. Today I checked my bank account, and I had been charged ***** for experian credit report. I went on to my account, and it had been upgraded without my permission. The card on the account is not even my card, so I'm not even sure how they got my banking information. I "downgraded" the membership back to the free membership, but the charge is still on my account. I'm not sure how a credit reporting bureau can allow access to have someone "upgrade" your account, or how they have the ability to upgrade without your knowledge. Nothing I did on that account asked for any verification of a credit card or anything, so I'm not even fully sure how all of this happened. Not comforting to know that people that are supposed to help protect you end up causing even more issues.

      Experian extended a trial offer to me for 7days and within that 7 day period the service was cancelled . The bureau continued to charge my account $59.98 for my husband and I individually. I cancelled the service for both my husband and I by sending an email to address the cancellation as well as contacting them by phone. I also contacted my banking institution on several occasions while I consistently went through being aggravated by the company's consistent charges to my account from June 2022 until this year February 2023. I am seeking a refund of these charges totalling $359.82 Immediately. This was a very aggravating and stressful issue. Thank you in advance for your assistance in resolving this matter.

      I am submitting another request to have experian refund payments that they repeatedly charged my account fraudulently. I was in constant pursuit of my bank crediting my account for the charges . To date they haven't refunded those charges. These charges extended back to last year for a duration of 9 months. The trial period was cancelled 4 days ahead of my 7 day trial period. I have been ill a couple of times and wasn't able to follow up on this matter. I am still looking to get a full reund of the charges I previously mentioned.

      Experian makes it impossible to close their free membership account (which they make you open to unfreeze your credit). As a consequence they continually send "informational" emails asking you to check changes to your credit on your membership account but these emails ARE MOSTLY MARKETING about their products. There is no opt out of these emails. I cannot opt out online nor through a phone rep. ********************** quote from their marketing email (framed as "informational"): You can update some alerts and communications preferences any time on your Experian CreditWorks? Basic profile, but youll continue to receive notifications like this one on the status of your account. All I want is for them to cancel my Membership ID# ************** so I have some control over my inbox. Please help.

      Our records indicate that you ordered a credit report along with a complimentary Experian CreditWorks Basic membership on March 29, 2017.  This membership allows access to your Experian(R) credit report and FICO(R) Score once every 30 days,at no charge to you.  Per your request,your paid benefits ceased, effective April 21, 2023.

      We recently updated our processes for administering security freezes.  To add or remove a security freeze online, a consumer must visit www.experian.com/freeze.  Existing Experian members will be prompted to sign into their membership.  Non-members will be prompted to create a free membership in Experian CreditWorksSM Basic or to create an Experian Service Account.  

      Experian CreditWorks Basic is a free product that provides consumers access to their Experian credit report and FICO(R) Score once every 30 days, along with monitoring alerts which are updated daily.  In contrast, an Experian Service Account does not involve enrollment in a membership.  It is an online portal through which consumers may log in to manage a security freeze, as well as submit disputes and review dispute results.

      If consumers cannot or choose not to access our online services, they can contact us by phone *************) or mail (ECA, PO Box ****, *****, ** 75013).

      On 03/29/2023 I signed up for family membership on Experian. I followed all steps needed to add her to the family membership. The site would not let me add her after following all the steps. I contacted their customer support and the person spoke broken English. They deleted her original account and told her to follow the link in 72 hours to create a new account and it will work. We did what they said and it did not work after 24 hours. We had to call them again and got another person that spoke broken English. They told us to do the same thing but they said they deleted her old email and guaranteed it would work. We waited another 72 hours and it didnt work again. I called again and they kept telling me to do the same thing. I contacted their supervisor who had a bad phone connection and hung up. That was a 20 min wasted call. I had to call back again. Suffer through the phone prompts to get a supervisor. They created a ticket that no one called about to follow up. We had to call again today. After 10 times of asking and 30 min I finally got to a supervisor who had no clue how to fix the problem. He had to created another ticket that take 5-7 days to be contacted on. I got charged $38 and have not been able to use the service I paid for. Experian has crappy customer ********************** and employees that arent trained properly. The site is misleading and they make it impossible to sign up with family members to a family membership. Then when you try to call them the phone tree is horrible and the call is routed to some random country they outsource to. I have yet to speak to someone without a thick accent that just reads the same c*** from a script. They do not care about their customers and do not fulfill services paid for.

      Someone opened a fraudulent credit card with my information. While resolving the issue with **** of America (where the credit card was opened) I noticed in my experian profile that my profile information, including phone number and email address, were changed to what I presume to be the fraudulent account. It was almost impossible to get a hold of anyone from Experian on the phone (the phone tree required me calling back three separate times) and when I was finally able to speak to someone, I was not able to understand what they were saying due to their accent. I asked if I could speak to someone else because I was having a hard time understanding and was told no. So I proceeded with the call, but am unclear on whether or not I am taking the right steps to have my account secured and to have the person committing fraud locked out. I need support in this resolution as this pertains to my identity theft.

      I purchased a family plan from Experian for I believe $39. This plan allegedly allowed me to add a family member to allow them to monitor all 3 credit reporting services. They have not allowed me to add my brother whom lives in my household. I have emailed them, they promised to call within two business days, and this never happened. I called 5 times today, was disrespected by an alleged supervisor, and hung up on. The fact that I was disrespected by an alleged professional is very unprofessional. I feel this service is very fraudulent in nature after reading all of the consumer reports. Issue number 2. They are not reporting my Credit ******** ending in ****. They have all the required info, such as a bank statement from Credit One, my mailing addresses, a copy of my ID and they told me they received the paperwork and have failed to report this account on my *********************************************************************** member number is **************

      Let me preface this by saying that I have NEVER had a paid account with Experian, not even the measly $1 type. I dont even have the app on my phone. This morning (04/04/2023) I was at an ATM getting cash and my card was declined. I was quite confused, as Id just checked my bank account and had enough money. Then a notification popped up from my bank that showed a $24.99 charge from Experian. This greatly confused me, as I have NEVER had a membership with them, not a free one, not a $1 one, and DEFINITELY not one for $24.99/month! I also have NEVER given them any of my card numbers. called my bank, who said that they werent able to dispute it yet because the charge was still pending, and they suggested I call Experian myself. So I did.The woman on the phone had a very thick accent, and I struggled to understand her for a few minutes, but I gave her my identifying information and she asked what I was calling for. I told her that I wanted to know how they charged me $24.99 when *** never had an account with them and Ive definitely never given them any of my card information. She proceeded to pull up my account and ask me why I wanted to cancel my membership. I told her that I DO NOT HAVE A MEMBERSHIP and I wanted the $24.99 refunded IMMEDIATELY. Imagine my surprise when she replied to that, TRYING TO SELL ME A LOWER-PRICED MEMBERSHIP. I couldnt believe my ears! I had to tell her AT LEAST FIVE TIMES that I did not want any membership from them, EVER, and what I wanted was a refund. A call that should have taken 1-2 minutes took almost 15 and I still never received an answer as to how they got my card number. I have a cancellation ID # now, and I also had to cancel and get a replacement card for my bank account. Reading the other reviews here, it seems Ill be lucky if they cancel my membership the first time. This needs to be investigated by the BBB for incredibly shady business practices at best, and fraud more likely.

      Our records indicate that you ordered a credit report along with a trial membership on March 13, 2023.  The membership was not cancelled; consequently, in accordance with the published terms of our offer, the credit card provided was charged our monthly membership fee on April 7, 2023.  A welcome email notification was sent to the email address you provided at the time of enrollment.  Per your request, your paid benefits ceased,effective April 4, 2023. 

      Our website describes the offer and the order form details the terms and conditions of the offer,including billing at the end of the trial and monthly thereafter unless and until the customer notifies us of their wish to discontinue. The consumer agrees to these terms when submitting their order.

      We have, as a courtesy,issued a refund totaling $24.99 on April 17, 2023.  Please allow 3 - 5 business days for these funds to process to the credit card account.

      At this time, we would like to express our regret that your experience with Experian CreditWorksSM may not have met your expectation or our standard of excellence.  We strive for exceptional customer satisfaction and hope we have addressed your area of concern to your expectation.
